Week in and out. Coaches have no cert hanging on their neck and want to argue about it at the gates to get on the fields.
It’s in the rule book, stressed in the infc zoom coaches meeting, stressed in the infc new coaches zoom meeting. Our board president even sent messages to all the coaches to make sure their coaches have their cert around their neck in our league.
C’mon coaches don’t cause problems on something clear as day
Gate pass gets you through the gate/ coach cert gets you on the field

Agreed. I know some fields won’t even let you on the field.

i know you wont be allowed on the field at Sapulpa.
i have turned several coaches away already this year.
we even made a copy of the page from the rule book and hung it on the gate going on to the field.
and still people want to argue.

So water aides, play counters, and managers have to be certified? I guess I'm reading that wrong.
Not arguing, just thought it pertained to only people who were coaching the players.

It is my understanding anyone on the sideline. Our coaches our the play counters / water etc for our team. You are only allowed 8 on the sideline. Maybe a infc official on here can clarify 100%

Everyone on the sideline most be certified.
Article 1: Each head coach and all members of each coaching staff shall be certified in football by USA Football and show proof upon request. All certifications shall be issued by USA Football. The President of each member club will turn in to the INFC office a list of all coaches involved in their program along with their card number and contact information prior to the first regular season game. This will allow a current up-to-date list of all certified coaches to be maintained and on file in INFC office should any problems or questions

Article 2: The number of non-player personnel on each football team’s, side-line shall not exceed a total of eight (8). This eight includes coaches, manager,
play counters, & water aids. Any coaching of players must be by a certified
coach. The Head coach will be held accountable for their sideline personnel
and all violations of this rule
In article 2 it calls out coaches separately from managers, play counters, and water aides. So I read it as you can have a total of 8 on the sidelines, they can include: coaches, manager, and play counters. "Coaching" of players must be by a certified coach. If you have a water boy/girl who is only filling waters and supplying the team with bottles, there not actually coaching a player. Same goes for a play counter. To me it plainly calls them out separately.
I think this is where the confusion comes in.

I think this is where the confusion comes in.
This is exactly how my staff has approached it. Myself, and our 4 coaches have our certs out at all times, but per the rule my play counter/team mom does not, nor does our water aide. Trust me they are not doing any coaching for our team. (one is my wife so she is more or less telling me to calm down the whole game lol)

It doesn't specifically call out that everyone on the sidelines has to be certified, nor does everyone on the sidelines have to be a coach. Just that coaches have to be certified and have to have their certs to be on the sideline.

Ok you guys have good point! But keep in mind you have one play counter and a water boy/girl. They can’t coach at all and we all know how unlikely that is for many teams. But there is exceptions to the rule. But I can guarantee it’s still mostly coaches without badges.

I use my teenager for the water boy and I have a dad that knows nothing about football counting plays. The only time he says anything is usually to me and the head coach.
I guess what I’m saying is they’re allowed to be on the sidelines as long as they’re not coaching or causing a disturbance. Correct?

Yeah I think we kinda got off track a little lol. I have seen quite a few trying to get on the sideline. I even had to make sure we had ours up at Bartlesville last week. All our coaches had em but me lol. Thankful my wife kept a spare lanyard in the car.

Kids have never been an issue as long as I have been around, but I have always been told and also interpreted that adults need to be certified. It cuts down on the traffic and doesn't leave it open ended for parents who want to helicopter parent.

I understand what everyone is saying. It's just not how its written in the rulebook.
My play counter and water aide isn't certified and I don't want to get into a predicament where they can't get on the field at certain venues.
