Man, what an incredible season this has been!  I’ll be honest, back in August, I gave us a sub 25% chance we’d ever finish the season out.  Super grateful we were able to play football this year.  Helped these kids feel a sense of normalcy, when the stability of their perceived world was so violently disrupted.  Youth football is about so much more than just football!  We are preparing these kids to be men, leaders, and productive members of their community!  Such a huge blessing to be able to influence their lives so powerfully, through the greatest team sport in the world!

Here are where I think the final top 10 shakes out, all just my opinion.  If you disagree, feel free to chime in.  All perspectives welcome!

1 - Glenpool:  I’ll be honest.  It always sorta bothered me a bit when Coachemup would say #2 was the best player in the grade.  I mean, he is 22 months older than my stud # 5.  However, I do finally now believe Coachemup, even though it took me a while to admit it!  Even compared to my older son’s grade (2025’s), # 2 is the most dominant player I’ve seen in the INFC thus far.  It’s actually not even close.  Every team thinks they will shut him down, but he finds a way to take over.  It’s pretty incredible the impact he has on both sides of the ball.  He also seems to be a great kid, and is being raised super well.  I always would chuckle on film when he would run someone over, or score a big TD, and then jump up and go to high five the kid he just beat on that play.  He genuinely was trying to be nice, not boastful at all.  Some kids would be pissed, and shun him, and other kids would sheepishly and awkwardly high five him back, not knowing the protocol in that situation.  Lol!!  Pretty special kid.  Oftentimes kids that nice don’t have the competitive edge to want to WIN.  I love watching how hard that kid runs, and how determined he is.  His yards after contact were an incredible thing to witness!  Glenpool had several good players of course, but #2 was the most dominant player I’ve seen in any grade in the INFC, ever!

2 - Jenks Maroon:  Sure, I’m biased as their Coach.  But, anyone who watched the Maroon vs Glenpool game, knew we were the better team!  I may upset Glenpool for saying that, but it’s “just youth football” and this is just an opinions forum, of which I can have my own biased opinion!  If you don’t believe me, watch the film here: https://vimeo.com/478200217/   Up until this game, most points scored on Glenpool was 14, by LC, which were both defensive TD’s (pick 6’s).  LC’s Offense never actually scored on Glenpool.  And Glenpool scores typically 35+, other than the 13 they scored on LC.  We were up 22 - 7 with 5 minutes to go in the game (3 TD’s for a non PAT kicking Glenpool team).  Our offense and defense both dominated this game.  We were going down to score and be up 30-7, when our stud RB pulls a hammy on a long run in the open field, and goes down.  2 plays later, we fumble, Glenpool scoops and scores.  They recover the onside kick, and they go score.  Next onside kick we recover, but offsides on kicking team, has to re-kick!  They recover and go down and score again.  So, we go from driving the field to then go up at least 30-7, to not running another offensive play, and now we’re down 22 - 26.  But let me be clear.  That’s what Championship caliber teams do.  They force you to make mistakes, and they make just enough plays to win the game.  Sometimes luck plays a factor, but Glenpool made just enough plays to win that game, and I won’t refute that.  Hat’s off to Glenpool man, they beat us and went and won that Championship!  Jenks Maroon also dominated the defending Champ’s BA Black, beating them 36 - 8.  BA’s only TD coming on a KO return.  I don’t think BA got more than maybe 1-2 first downs the whole game.

3 - Lincoln Christian:  This may upset some people, but good thing this is my opinion!  My logic for putting LC 3rd, is as follows.  First, their O never scored on Glenpool, and they only beat them by 1.  I would be curious to hear what Glenpool coaches think, as they may disagree with me.  But, I think we gave Glenpool a much harder time on both sides of the ball, then they had with LC.  I think if you watch LC vs Glenpool game, and then the Jenks Maroon v Glenpool game film, the edge goes to Jenks Maroon.  They also only put up 8 points on Owasso White (a great team too, btw).  The Norman score was also a bit misleading, as it was a much tighter game, with Norman leading 12-8 in the 4th quarter (same Norman team Glenpool dominated).  Not taking anything away from LC though.  Just making points why I put them at 3rd.  They were so dominant this year though in pretty much every game.  They were probably most of the league’s favorites to win it.  It’s unfortunate about how things turned out for them.  But, nevertheless, an amazing season and an incredible team, full of great athletes and great coaches.  # 44 could probably get time with the varsity right now!  Call him up!!  That kid is a complete freak, and averaged probably 1.93 pancake blocks per play, the ENTIRE GAME!  #52 was also solid, and they had a host of athletic and well coached kids.  Great lineman, great skill players, very complete package.  Wish ya’ll were playing INFC next year, as we were really looking forward to playing you guys!

4 - Norman Timberwolves:  I really think the championship game score didn’t reflect the true nature of this team.  I will give them the benefit of the doubt here.  I’ve always had mad respect for them, and they play “real football” with their scheme and their personnel, and they are really hard to beat.  I think in the end, their soft regular season schedule really hurt them.  Not having played as many competitive games, leaves you a bit un-prepared for the grind of playoffs, no matter how hard you try to offset it with hard practices, scrimmages, etc.  I think if this team had played the same division schedule of D2 or D3, that they have all the talent and coaching to be the best 6th grade team in the state.  Not having a single point scored on them in the Regular season was quite impressive, but also a weakness in a way (lacking bigger tests).  Sometimes these kids have to re-learn the same lessons each season, and these boys probably would’ve benefited from playing some of the harder teams out West.  I loved that they came to the scrimmages though, so none of this is their fault.  I’ve said this before, but I think losing a game mid-season is great thing for a Championship bound team.  We lost to Norman in 4th grade, and then beat BA Black 34-20 in the final.  Glenpool lost to LC 13-14, and then dominated the Final 28-0.  It’s also tough when you think you are , “done”, and then you are basically asked by the league to come back and play one last game.  Hard to get your kids fired up, when they were likely emotionally drained.  In the championship game they didn’t look like the same team that I know they are.  However, that is also what happens when you play a team like Glenpool, they will make most anyone feel like they’re not playing their best game.  They force errors, and expose you in different places where you thought you were solid.

5 - BA Black: Arguably the most feared team since 3rd grade.  They’ve always been known to have the lowest pad level in the league.  I haven’t seen film on the Norman game, but I assumed that one would have been a bit closer.  BA Black has beat Norman the previous 2 playoff encounters, and it’s tough to go 3 straight!  I know they talked in August about losing lots of starters this year, but most of their key kids seemed to be there.  And then they picked up 2 of the fastest kids in the whole grade.  It is extremely hard to win 1 championship, much less back to back!  But, they will also be on a short list to win it all next year too.  They will be super hungry!  Crazy that they have played in every championship game from 3rd through 5th grade, and won it all last year.  They have always been a super dominant team, and no one wants to play these guys.  They play angry, and have the Coaching talent to get back on top!

6 - Owasso White: These boys are super solid!  They were a bit unpredictable as you watch film on them though.  They played their butts off against LC, and just barely came up short, 8-0.  Drove the field a lot, but penalties and fumbles killed their big scoring drives.  When they are going hard, they can play with anyone in the league.  Just ask LC.  They just need to be a bit more consistent, and they have the talent and coaching to win it all too!  They gave Jenks a tough battle in the playoffs, and earned mad respect.  They will be on a short list of championship contenders for next year.  Their passing game is probably the best in the grade, in terms of accuracy and playmakers that can go up and get it.  They don’t pass it much, but even when you totally know it’s coming, they still will out-execute you.

7 - Jenks White: Love this team, and so many of the kids and families on it.  #22 is one of the top players in the whole grade, on both sides of the ball.  Love his tenacity and competitiveness and he will be someone to watch in High School for sure!  He’ll rep the same number, just like his older Soph bro does, so keep an eye out for # 22 at Jenks High for the next several years!  But, they are not a one dimensional team by any means.  Their line play is getting better every year.  Great group of kids and coaches, and these boys will no doubt make a deep playoff run next year.  Can’t wait till this Jenks group merges in 8th grade.  I see a lot of wins at the High School level coming up for this 2027 crew!!

8 - Bixby Red: These boys are always up for a big game.  I really thought they would’ve put a bigger fight against LC, but maybe that full roster jersey # swap by LC determined the outcome?  Only OWhite would know!  (j/k, j/k…too soon?).  Mad respect for these guys though, and they are so good at finding a way to win the big games.  If they get # 25 back for next year, they will be a top 3 team for sure!  They likely are anyways, as they proved they can win big games.  They have the lineman to play with anyone.  22, 45, 72, and others, all total studs.

9 - Bixby Blue: They were missing 4 starters for that PST final with BA White.  No disrespect to BA White though, they are solid, and won the game!  I think #65 is one of the top players in the league though.  And now, after having played his first season, he’ll likely be a lot better and even more confident next year.  These guys have also been a super consistent team over the years, and can play with anyone.  Again, their lineman are solid, and that will be even more critical next year!

Man, hard to decide on the 10 spot, so a few honorable mentions:

Piedmont: Saw their #13 live, and he’s a super tough kid, on both sides of the ball.  Pretty tough team, they just don’t seem to have the lineman to compete with the top teams in 6th grade, where line of scrimmage play becomes more and more critical with each year.

BA White: These boys are solid, and have been a playoff team most years.  The PST gives teams a lot of opportunities to progress, and I feel like PST winners often have a big year the next season.  With fewer teams in the mix next year, these guys will look to make a deep run.

Top Tens are so fun.  JMO so Chill bro.
1. Glenpool.   LCS says "not my champion"
1A. LC.  We will never know
3. Jenks Maroon.  Easily could've been the Champs
4. Owasso White.  Held LC to their lowest score 8 points, was beating JM 24 to 22 with 5 minutes left in the 4th. Too many mistakes to belong but I honestly feel that if we play sound football we can hang with anyone.
5. Norman.  After what I saw Saturday IDK...but they did beat BA black
6. BA Black.  I thought that the new RB & Offense would have the defense covered each and every Saturday, but it didn't happen.  Will be a top 3 team in 7th grade.
7. Bixby Red.  Lost to LC 40 to 6, but beat JM ...oh and lost to Jenks White 30 to 0...try and figure that out. Head scratcher
8. Jenks White. This team had the 3rd highest points scored in the league.  Really solid squad
9. BA White. Won the PST, beat some really good teams to do so, including my #8 and #10
10 Bixby Blue.  Solid Team. Held JM to one TD that is an amazing feat.  Slow clap 👏

Honorable mention
Piedmont

Next onside kick we recover, but offsides on kicking team, has to re-kick!  They recover and go down and score again.

That sucks.  I'd like to see offsides on a kickoff by the kicking team be a live ball illegal procedure foul that you can decline if the receiving team recovers the kick.  It just doesn't make sense to penalize the receiving team for the kicking teams mistake.  (Although, yes, i do realize as soon as the player is offsides anything after that technically never happened.)  Just my two cents worth.

I agree with you, at least on KO.  I think offsides on KO should be a declinable penalty.  Offsides on normal offensives set, should stay as it is today.  It's rarely a factor though, and there's not really a way for a Kicking team to "game it".  Just bad luck, so that rule will probably not change.

Maybe my write up is misleading, but which game are you referring to?  If you're talking about Glenpool vs LC, it's Glenpool that scores in their first possession.
But, as my write up tried to clarify, LC's offense never scored on Glenpool's D.  LC's sole points came off their 2 pick 6's (and great plays they were!).  Let me know if I'm missing something...

Just to clear this up... The Glenpool/LC game on 09/19, both offenses scored on their first possessions making the score 7-7. LC's two other scores were defense. Final score was 20-13 LC.

Sorry for the slow response, work got in the way. Thanks Bobby for clearing it up.  I meant to say on LC's first possession they scored.  But yes GP took the opening kick off drove down and  scored first.  LC answered.

I was only talking about kickoff. My apologies if that wasn't clear. I do agree offsides on normal offensive sets should remain a dead ball penalty. I do understand and agree there's really no way for the kicking team to intentionally "game it" as you say and get an advantage, but it can negatively impact the receiving team, as it did in this case.  Like you, i agree it probably won't change because it is the current rule and everyone's playing by the same rules, but i don't see any harm in changing this one rule.
