It was 4 & 8 and there was an illegal shift on our Offense. What should happen in this situation?
-
Depends live ball play so if your short they decline it and get the ball. If you get first down the accept 4th -13
-
The ball was never snapped.
-
Well illegal shift is live ball so if never snapped you have a dead ball foul. Dead ball false start. Which would be 4th and 13. You can’t have a live ball foul if the ball is never snapped.
-
Yeah, as soon as the running back and slot guy moved the they blew the whistle. Then let Bixby decline it and said it was turnover on downs.
-
Yea that’s not correct. Send us time and field and I know bobby will reach out and make sure we clear it up in the future.

Please send location/time and I will check with the officials. bkelleyok@gmail.com

Speaking to the officials that were on this game about this play - they said they let the play go and you lost 3 yards because it is a live ball penalty. Then since you didn't get the first down on the play, the penalty was automatically declined and it would then be a turnover on downs.
If you have film that shows different please sent to bkelleyok@gmail but I am just saying it was a pretty veteran crew that knows what to do on a illegal motion penalty. Not that we can't all make a mistake from time to time, this would just be an odd one :)
