Title: Who wins the SHIP?
Post by: PRESSPass on November 06, 2019, 08:44:41 am: So, we have familiar players in the championship.

Does Bixby Red make it three in a row or can TYAA Blue bookend their time in 11-man, INFC football by repeating their third grade championship?

I have never played Bixby Red (thank goodness) but know some of their coaches and players. Very impressed with their continued dominance. TYAA Blue gave me my early lumps in the 1st and 2nd grade. One of my favorite coaching staffs. I look for them every year at the coaches meetings. Does not matter what players they have, they get them playing hard. I am a fan of both teams. Good luck Saturday, I'm sure it will be an epic game.

Post by: Frontline on November 06, 2019, 10:20:53 am: This will be a low scoring game if both teams take care of the football. Bluedawgs D is top shelf and prides itself on defensive scores. They will stack the box and put Extreme pressure on BXB O Line. How will BXB respond to that. BXB has shown grit this year in multiple games with staying patient and football players making plays when they count. BXB defense has the speed to contain the edge. Can TYAA offense put drives together to compliment their defensive prowess. Both teams are going to have to play a clean mistake free game and capitalize on the others misfortune. I see this being a one score game. No matter what happens, these two teams have seen so much of each other they are like family so we ought to have a big BBQ together after the game! Should be one for the ages!! Gotta go with the champs! 8-0

Two juggernaut defenses going at it to determine who wins the battle between the immovable object (Red, the reigning champs) or the unstoppable force (BlueDawgs, the lb for lb most athletic team in the league).

There may only be 6 or 8 total plays run this game by both teams that they just run over and over - making this a true test of attrition.

With those defenses, field position will be critical, converting 3rd down will be monumental, and scoring may be considered a minor miracle.

Defenses win ‘ships. In this case defense may actually have to score; unless it goes to OT and yards, which is very possible.

The ‘ship is within TYAA’s grasp.

On the flip side BXB will have its work cut out scoring on Blue. Just because they gave up a score to us, don’t think they are slipping defensively. Our style of offense at this age is totally different than most teams. The only way anybody scores on BXB is to get 39 out of the box. Very hard to do in the wishbone.

It is very likely that Blue will score on defense or special teams...

Victory in this battle will come down to the team that makes NO mistakes. I think the team that makes a mistake, looses this game.

Offenses are not anything special, both will just line up and pound it. Bluedawgs have definitely added a few key pieces to their team as well as BIG Red Machine. Luck always plays a part in BIG games like this, except for last year. Last year was complete dominance but this is a new year! Will BIG Red Machine 3PEAT? Or will the Bluedawgs take back the trophy? I think the 1st half will be tight but one team will show their toughness and "want to" in the 2nd half. Dog fight championship! Neutral field! Love it! Going with the champs! Saturday cant come soon enough.

Without a doubt these are the two best teams in the INFC. But Red is something different, also I feel sorry for us all when the two Bixby Teams come together when school ball starts 🥵

COMPLETE DOMINATION
#39 along with the rest of the Spartans showed up today and showed who had the #1 DEFENSE, as well as the #1 team in the league. Some of you guessed right, Bluedawgs did score on a pick 6 but so did BXBRed with a scoop-n-score. Bluedawgs did make some plays on defense but overall, couldn't stop The BIG Red Machine.

Blue got the ball 1st and Red's D stuffed em with a 3&out and followed up with a blocked punt. Short field position let the Spartans pound the rock for their 1st TD. A deep kickoff and the Bluedawgs 3&out gave BXB the ball again with good field position leading to a TD pass. Another deep kickoff and another defensive stand gave BXB the ball with enough time to kick a field goal to make it 19-0 at half. Dawgs came out the 2nd half with an early pick6 to make it somewhat of a game at 19-6 but Red's offense kept moving the ball and grinding the clock. Blue got the ball finally in the 4th with hope to make something happen but BIG Red D was toooooooo much as they hammered the dawgs forcing a fumble and #39 getting the scoop and score. BALLGAME. Congrats to both teams on a great season. It's been fun watching all these kids grow and battle each other.
