I just hope that we can be competitive in this game. Hats off to Union Silver. 2, 9, 13, 3, 22 can play! Their coaches do a great job with that team and are well coached. They have been a top team in this grade for years. I’m very proud of our boys. After the 1st drive, which was a disaster, they settled in and showed their character and put up a fight! No matter what happens Tuesday, what my boys have accomplished in the last couple of years has been special, and I’m super proud to have coached this team! We will be delivering a great football team to our JR high and High school coaches and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this team at the next level!

Congrats Metro.

Tyaa is impressive. I thought SS's big guys would give them problems. Good luck Edmond.
-
Love your guys wonderful insight. Its comical at times. Most of the time. I hope you guys dont take yourselves too serious. It's hard to tell on a forum. Good luck to the final four. Well earned!!

Just for fun, I'm going to offer no analysis, no reasoning, no predicting scores, no rating defense vs offense, no comparing east vs west, etc.
I'm going to go against the prevalent opinions in these forums.
At this stage of the season, it will be two extremely tough night games this week, but I'm going with Edmond vs Metro in the finals!
-
For discussion sake, cause I know PRESSPass is itching to talk about these matchups, here’s one man’s opinion...
Edmond vs TYAA - Edmond outscored opponents in the reg. season 305 to 8, or 38 to 1 (points per point); that includes playing the 2 & 3 seeds representing west. Dominating offense and complete defensive team, right?
Yesterday, the div. 4, 3 seed, BXBB forced Edmond to run 25 plays before first scoring, and after that managed 1 first down the rest of the day.
It’s been said by some in this forum concerning west competition that rising tides raise all ships. The tide hasn’t risen enough in the West this year for Edmond to take home a win this week, or a ‘ship for that matter. If this Edmond team stays together, maybe next year.
TYAA scores almost as well on Defense as they do on Offense. TYAA Defense is not only good, but fast and BIG. TYAA makes the best offenses look mediocre. TYAA beats wins out of teams with their team speed and hard hitting Defense. TYAA wins this one something to nothing.
Metro vs BXBRed - Red is getting healthy, offense is clicking, and to date, Red’s Defense is the ONLY team who has not given up a single TD in the regular or post seasons.
If anybody could manage a score against Red it’s Metro. Their coaches prepare well and put together good schemes, and they have the personnel to spread the field and stretch Red’s Defense creating some 1-on-1 matchups that could favor Metro. However, it’s never been enough to get passed Bixby, much less BXBRed. Red wins, only question is how big.
Any thoughts?

Hey Spartan,
I know that this is going to be hard to believe considering how "chatty" I have been on this forum all year long, but at this stage of the playoffs, I don't have an overwhelming itch to analyze and discuss the remaining 3 games of this INFC season. I have actually told myself that I'm not going to over-think and over-discuss, especially using stats and contrasts/comparisons (sorry). The remaining games will be decided by not only skills, but by heart and even a little bit of luck so both your opinion and mine could certainly be valid.
I will say a couple of things as way of compliment for Bixby Blue (your team, correct?). Teams that make the 2nd round of the playoffs, especially after beating a team like Jenks Silver, are not exactly a "3 seed" anymore. Blue played one hell of a defensive game against Edmond but obvously Edmond got the stops when needed the most.
As far as Bixby Red and Metro, I really do NOT have enough experience with either team to even have an informed discussion. I like your analysis of that game but I will still insist that it could be either team's to win (otherwise, why even play it). I guess I'll stick with my pick of Metro to win at home (perhaps by a point?).
As someone who decided not to talk much, you sure got me to talk a lot on this reply! ;D 8)
As far as the east vs west discussion, let's save that for a different time (and maybe thread).

Will infc schedule them both same night and same time?

It is completely up to the host club to set the schedule and they had to notify the INFC by Saturday night. I’ve heard BXB/Metro plays Tuesday, 6:30 (not confirmed) so more curious on TYAA/Edmond.
-
As long as 39 from Bixby Red is playing defense, dont think anyone will score on them. JMO

BXB Red vs Metro
Two very disciplined teams that are playing good team football at this stage of the season. BXB is trying to three peat and Metro is trying to make it back to back in AA/A. BXB is healthy and focused. They know they will get everyone’s best every week and are battle tested in close games. Metro is quick and tenacious that teams have mistakenly overlooked at times. #6 is a great two way player but like BXB Red they have a host of players that compliment his play. This game will come down to who can create turnovers. Going with Sparta Red, Molon Labe!!
TYAA vs Edmond
Another East/ West match up. This game will be determined on who wants it more! This is Edmonds last go in INFC to win a championship as they go to 7th grade football next year. May be the same for TYAA as well but not sure about that. Conditioning will be a factor in this game. TYAA defense is going to come after the bulldogs. Ball control and time management may win this game. Edmonds prolific offense seems to struggle with the east side defenses. Edmond can’t afford to turn the ball over. Going with the home team in a midweek night game. I think Bluedawgs size and speed is going to be too much for the bulldogs to handle consistently. TYAA Blue at home.

Bixby BIG Red Machine at Metro.
Will Metro bring down the reigning champs? Metro is the most disciplined and well coached football team in the league. They play fast, hard nose football and will be hyped up for their mid-week semifinals home game! This will be a fun game to watch as these 2 sound football teams go at it! This could go either way but I'm gonna stick with the champs. They have been tested this year and everytime, find a way to win. Even with a few pieces out due to injury, the rest are healthy and hungry. BixbyRed 14 Metro 0.
Edmond Bulldogs at TYAA Bluedawgs.
Top offense vs Top defense? I've watched both of these teams and I just don't see how Edmond has any chance to win. Will they be competitive? Will they show up? Are they tough enough mentally and physically? I think yes on all but this is the playoffs which means you get NOTHING for just showing up, being tough, or playing competitive. That's all GREAT during the season but now it's ALL about winning. The Bluedawgs defense will smother that Bulldog offense and offensively will pound the rock until they lay down and give up. I want this to be a competitive game but I just don't see it. TYAABluedawgs 20 EdmondBulldogs 0

@Metro1 Thanks for the kind words about our U-Silver boys! Congrats on a great season!

Hats off to Bixby! We had them in a situation that we could only dreamed for. Down in the 4th quarter and like champions do, they found a way to win! The environment and crowd was electric for the boys at Metro stadium! It’s been a great ride for this Metro team. Couldn’t be proud of the fight they showed against a team that we were outmanned against. Congrats to BXB red and Tyaa Blue. They are and always have been the best of this class.

Great game Metro!! You even had the band out there!!! The environment was definitely playoff worthy. We knew it was going to be a hard nose game. Good luck in school ball and look forward to keeping up with what your young men do.

Let me offer a heartfelt kudos to the TYAA Blue coaches, family and especially the kiddos. They are a very good team that did a great job capitalizing on Edmond's mistakes. Good luck in the "ship"!

I wish I could have been at the Metro/Bixby Red game. Way to represent the small schools Metro. This is the first year I have got to know some of the Metro coaching staff. Very hard working staff. I enjoyed watching them play this season. We will have some battles in school ball going forward in Junior High and possibly High school.

Wow! the Bxb Red and Metro game was intense. Bxb found a way lat in the 4th to get it done.
Congrats to both teams was fun to watch. Both coaching staffs were coaching their butts off.
Good luck Bxb Red this weekend.
Metro Heck of a job this year.
