Claremore Zebras
vs
South Tulsa Defenders
I deleted my previous comment....
All i am going to say about this game is if both teams come with their A game it will be a show that you will not want to miss.
Alot of respect and hats off to both teams, coaches and parents. It takes alot of dedication from everyone involved just to be able to play. To have 2 teams that are now 13-0 playing against one another says alot.
All i am going to say is see everyone on saturday!!!
Team W-L PF PA
1. South Tulsa 13-0 431 24
2. Claremore 13-0 319 52

Claremore is a very well coached and disciplined team. They run well and tackle well.
Haven’t seen the defenders since scrimmages but felt they were the real deal then.
Defenders 21
Claremore 6

Congrats to both squads.. Haven't been able to see South Tulsa, but have heard and read great things. Having scrimmaged and played Claremore.... they are a solid , well rounded football team. I am looking forward to a great 1st grade championship game, Claremore will find a way.

Best of luck to both teams. Should be quite the shootout! Claremore............watch the run to the outside and the Defenders love to drain every second off the clock that they can. That's about all I am going to say about that. It was a fun season and I expect this game to be quite the battle.
i know nothing about South Tulsa, haven't seen them play, so take this with a grain of salt, but usually teams that love to "drain every second off the clock" end up in fairly low scoring games. From what I've seen in their scores, it seems like they score fast and score often. again, you may be correct and i may be wrong, but that's what i've noticed in my experience. jmo
Good luck to both teams!

No matter what competition you play MM to NFL, usually the team that has the best time of possession usually wins. Especially if you play another team that likes to go fast when calling plays. "Draining" the clock, meaning using all the time the refs allow depending on how the games go is all about coaching. I use to coach a MM team and playing TYAA we would use all the clock we could to keep them from scoring very fast in the playoffs!
South Tulsa does a great job of managing the clock when they are suppose to AND they did last night. Doesn't matter how you play, what matters is the outcome! When it comes to the playoffs, all records are out the window, it doesnt matter! Its playoffs baby!!!

Great job to all the teams participating. I guess I'm a little confused . I thought clock management was an aspect of football. If it's a issue the refs will throw the flag. Let's not take away from the hard work all these kids , coaches and parents put in! Should be a great game sat !
My thoughts exactly
-
South Tulsa has scored 431 points which is 35.9 points a game. Doesn't sound like "draining" the clock to me

I wasn't taking anything away from them at all. What I meant was they use their time wisely. And they do score fast! Quite the little athletes they have on that team and the coaches do a good job. I wasn't attacking anyone. Best of luck to both teams!

Going to be a great Championship Game!!!

After watching them last night for the first time I am sure our coaches are going to come out ready to unleash the Zebras.
Like i said it will be a great game. Win or lose I feel this little team has accomplished alot.

Morris and coaching staff, great job with the Zebras this season! I have watched just a little bit but your boys will be ready to play, as for the South Tulsa Defenders, SHOOOT We always READY!!!!!!
Going to be a good one Coacher!

South Tulsa - 19
Claremore - 0

South Tulsa just has too much speed on defense. The only chance to score on them is to catch them when they blitz #44 and their corners.

Is South Tulsa a school or just handpicked kids?
-
I’m sure the weather played a big factor, but claremore only put up 6 points on Bixby White who was 4-5 on the regular season.

Lol when your back field is freezing and no one wants the ball bc their hands are frozen what do you do lol....
Tyaa red beat bixby white 25 to 7 and i think we took tyaa red 25 to 7 in the first half. 2nd half we noticed bixby white recording so we pretty much just ran standard plays and up the middle the 2nd half. Look at our wagoner game that was in the cold. We won 7 to 0 lol. Its first grade football when the boys are freezing they just about shut down on our coaches. I give our D alot of credit they held bixby. Bixby had a cpl break aways which were called back for holding.

South Tulsa isn't a school or handpicked kids. Registration is open to anyone in Tulsa schools south of 21st Street but kids at other schools can get a release from their team if they aren't in those boundaries.

Not meant to be a slam against claremore, there’s no easy route to 13-0.

I didnt take it thst way lol. I talked to south tulsa's coach before their game last night. They were having the same issues the past 2 nights. He said reason they only scored 18 pts against skiatook red lol.
Man its first grade football while emotions in some of these games may get high. I am just a laid back dad that is going to miss all this once season is over.

We played Claremore and scrimmaged South Tulsa. I believe it will be a defensive game with Claremore winning 13-12. Congratulations to both teams for making it this far.
-
Yea I think the cold weather slows down every team not just South Tulsa and Claremore.

I want to wish both Claremore and South Tulsa best of luck during the Championship Game on Saturday. I hope it’s a battle on both sides of the ball and that the best team wins.

"$Bixby White defense was the reason why Claremore struggled. In the playoffs Bixby gave up 6 points to Jenks....0 points to Broken Arrow Gold....0 points to Muskogee....and 6 points to Claremore. Claremore only had 2 big plays vs Bixby.......they have an extremely fast backfield but was in held in check.$"
my man, thank you, regardless of our overall record, I feel we peaked at the right time, we did a complete overhaul (position wise) prior to the playoffs, and it paid dividends. Not to take anything from Claremore, but I felt that night, Bixby White was the better team. On the flip side, Claremore executed their plays offensively, and played great defense, stifling our offense, when we weren't shooting ourselves in the foot. Am I disappointed we lost? Of course, but there's no shame in losing to such a well coached, all around good football team. They're obviously 13-0, and in the championship for a reason. Good luck Lil Zebras, This Bixby White coach is pulling for ya!!
