Title: 7th Grade no 2 stripers
Post by: guest756 on August 05, 2016, 04:52:33 pm
Can't seem to find anywhere in the rule book about defensive / offensive lineman for 7th grade.   If I am reading the rule book correctly only no stripers who can run the ball, and 1 stripers this year in 7th grade.  No 2 stripers in 7th grade.

7th Max offensive back150 .00
1 Striper weight limit over 150.00
Two Striper weight limit NONE

So if everyone is over 150lbs  in 7th grade is a 1 striper does this mean that 220lb. kids can line up in a 2 point stance on offense and defense?

Thanks.

I believe you are correct on defense. However, the INFC has a rule that all five offensive linemen have to be in a down position. I have asked for this rule to be changed for three years as we run spread and I would like our OT's to be in pass pro not to mention it gives the DE's a tremendous advantage when they can line up outside of where a TE would be.

Pretty sure they changed that rule. If the OT is a 1 striper, they can be in a 2 point stance. I asked that question specific to 6th grade.

Bobby,

Can you clarify if an offensive lineman has to be in a three point stance.

Thanks

1 stripers has always been able to stand up ever since I can remember. All 2 stripers have to hand down.

Let me clarify OCD. Yes 1 stripers can stand up on defense. I was saying it's not fair to have a 1 striper standing up at DE, on the outside shoulder of where a TE would be (it's one thing if a team runs double tight but if a team is running spread, it's a competitive disadvantage to the offense) when a O-lineman has to be in a three point stance.

I agree. Not a fan of the rule even tho I wouldn't have mine student up cuz I wouldn't do spread but def a disadvantage if a team is.

OT Can be in a 2 point stance if they are a 1 striper. I asked at the player safety training to be sure. INFC confirmed its legal.

So everyone is saying that all players can be in a 2 point stance in 7th grade?

That is correct. And 1 stripers in grades 3rd-6th. I confirmed this with an INFC board member last night

Sorry I missed this question.  Did everybody get their answer, want me to double check anything?
If it is not in the rulebook I can check.

I spoke with Harley and he said that is only a mighty mite rule. However, I know one year in a scrimmage (I think 4th grade) we tried it and were told all offensive linemen had to be in a down position.

Only 2 striped players have to have hand on ground, offense or defense.
