Scrimmages
« on: August 10, 2021, 10:55:57 am »
Is there a reason why you place AA teams against A teams in Scrimmages?
Seems like A vs. A and AA vs. AA make more sense... Especially since that's who they will play in regular season.
Asking for a friend..... ;) ;)

Because they want to see if an AA team really needs to be in AA. 🤷‍♂️🤣🤣

So.... I guess you are new? Brother calm down. Nobody told you to sign up for scrimmages and truth be told you still don't have to go. Ask questions about what you are getting yourself into beforehand. They will happily oblige. This might blow your mind, but if the schedule dictates you might actually have to play an A ball team during the regular season too.
I could care less if we play A or AA but why the F—k don’t we play all games in a central location?
Jenks, Glenpool, sand springs, Union, Claremore, Catoosa…  I mean Edmond going to Ft. Gibson? Bville going to McAlester? Whoever does the schedule is a dumba$$… one way to fix it next year is schedule our own scrimmages…

it’s not about the A or AA, it’s about the DISTANCE some teams are having to TRAVEL to play a scrimmage. I didn’t mind going to Yukon last year for the playoffs because they earned it, but to drive by a bunch of CENTRALLY located fields to play a scrimmage 2.5 hours away just seems asinine. Not sure it matters but the team my son played on only lost 3 games in the last 3 years and went undefeated in 4th grade, but yeah I’m still a noob.

Gotcha. Yeah that is probably the tough part about coming to play in an organization that is located it Eastern, OK. Congrats to your son and his team. Best of luck this coming season.

Can't speak on team placements but the problem is yeah there are a ton of fields but very few volunteer their field for use. Talk to you club director about putting in to host scrimmages and they would most likely get to have some at your field. As far as all in a central location, there are so many teams with limited amount of time no one field could host them all.
