Equipment Question
« on: July 18, 2021, 06:07:41 pm »
I have a 4th grader playing for the first time and trying to understand the equipment to protect him but also not hamper him too much.  Based off some advice,  I got him a padded girdle (UA 5 game day version) but if his practice pants have built in pads and his game pants to do, does he need it?  Seems overkills or might actually bug him with too much padding.  I had originally thought he could take the pads out of the practice/game pants if he wanted and just use the girdle then use knee pads in the pants but his Nike practice pants do not seem to have removable pads, and I haven't got his game pants yet to know if they are removable.  If they are removable, would the girdle + non-padded game pants except for knee pads be within the guidelines?

Thanks in advance!

PS. I did search for 'girdle' in the forum before posting and didn't get any results and a general google search doesn't seem to be helping.

That will be fine Bf7 on the pads. But let your kid check it out and see if itís to much then, just do the girdle with the knee pads and the but pad.
