So you have researched every bracket in 3-7th and no one at any time has played a quarterfinal game at any time prior to Saturday following the final regular season game? If that is the case, than I would certainly agree a precedent of some kind has been set. Looks like it’s time to blow off work and dive into the forum archives before practice.

And TST, I like you and appreciate the effort, but we both know dang well you care when you play lol

Okay I went and double checked and I found 1 instance in 40 quarterfinal games the past two years that was played prior to Saturday.

I’ll just let you know that only 2 teams need to worry about scheduling, Jenks Maroon and Owasso White. Everyone else gets a “thanks for coming out”…

Obviously you hear this about Jenks Maroon… They have been a top 3 team every single year. Nothing has changed Jabarooni.

"Top 3 every year"...once again my advise would be read the post out loud first.  Talent is not that deep in this league, so nobody cares unless your the best. If your not winning the championship, its best just to stay quiet, but you guys never fail to give us your "top ten" after you lose in the playoffs every year.  See this is my problem, you guys have spent all these years pounding your chest on how good you are, but all you have to show is a 4th grade championship and early exits since.  The quality teams see through this smoke and mirror game you like to play.  I'm not going to bash Maroon, because these are all kids working their butts off to get better and truthfully, Maroon is a solid team, but this delusion you have that they are in a class of their own is comical.  Truth is, I'm not sure Maroon is one of the top 2 teams in Jenks, let alone this league.  That's not a bash to Maroon, but a compliment to the White and Black.  These teams have improved every year and if we are all being honest, their trajetory is better then Maroons.   As far as "top 3 team every single year", I am not going to try and go back to rehash every year, but Maroon hasn't even sniffed the championship since these kids were 9.  Heck last year I would have put Glennpool, LC, Norman, and even Bixby ahead of them.
Can Maroon "get to" a championship this year, absolutely, but they have a tough road ahead of them to do so and disrespecting the teams they are playing will not help their cause, but that has never stopped you in the past.

I cant believe for one second that I would ever, ever, ever defend maroon in any sense.  I'm not even sure as I type this if I should hit post or watch the fires burn.  Honestly not all of what you said was untrue, but there is a couple things that I have to give credit/respect for, because well, if I'm not willing to give credit or respect to an opponent how can I ask the same in return.

1.  Maroon is the top team in Jenks.  It's not a question on anyone's mind that knows this grade.  To say otherwise is to forgo any sense of reality.  Before you say I'm biased, I've got film on every team in this grade, and I have watched all three play live multiple times as well as played against maroon.  I can send you 7 of their game films, 5 of jenks black, and three of white.  I've also scrimmaged against jenks white as well.  Maroon is the better overall team. Period. End of story.  Semaj is the best player, #12 is awesome for JB, and Cato is great for maroon.  Maybe you would rank the top 3 in that order even, it could be a HUGO's convo for the old timers to decide over eggs and coffee, but then you add #5 to the mix and it automatically raises maroon to the top, by him alone.  No other team has that type of thunder and lightning in the backfield over at Jenks.  They just don't.  Not a knock on the kiddos, all three are very good teams(all made the playoffs!).

2. Maroon should've been in the ship last year.  I watched that game live, and even Coachemup(glenpool coach) will tell you, they absolutely had that game won.  Peterson popped his hammy, Cato broke his hand and didn't tell anyone, kick return to the house, fumblerooski, huge MAYO run all with glenpool down by 20 with 7:51 to play.  That game was over.  Run that 8 min back a thousand times and jenks wins.  But one time they didnt.

Other than that, jabs is quite the jabber.  Got a mean jab as one would say.  Hate to see his right cross or his uppercut. Just my .02

Just Facts

Glenpool lost to LC in the regular season by 10
Owasso White lost to LC in the regular season 0-8
Maroon Beat Owasso White 28-24 when owasso white had the lead with 4:25 left in the 4th.
Norman got the scoreboard shutoff by Glenpool in the ship and Lost an asterisk game to LC by 14 I believe
Bixby Red got bounced 40-6 by LC in the playoffs

In my estimation that means it went Glenpool, LC***, Jenks Maroon, Owasso White, Norman, Bixby Red

Just trying to show my work.  Felt like I was doing a proof in Mrs. Lubas geometry class.  Honors geometry btw if you were wondering

Oh Jabs. You get in your feelings too much. Especially over Jenks Maroon. In your attempt to "not" knock Jenks Maroon, you knock them... intentionally. And not only that, you knock every other team in this league by saying that "talent is not that deep in this league". Pot calling the kettle black much?

Of course as a coach (or ex coach now), I'm 1,000,000% in belief that my team is one of the top teams in ANY league. If a coach doubted their team's abilities, what does that say about a coach? Does a Nascar driver show up to a race thinking he is 3rd best? Did Mike Tyson walk around thinking he would ever get beat? When did Phil Jackson say his team was mediocre because they lost? And your opinion on who the top two teams in Jenks, or this league matter to me about as much as my wife's opinion on why her car "makes funny noises".... It doesn't matter to me. You seem to be the only voice on the forum that believes Maroon isn't now, and hasn't been a top team in years past. There's no "smoke and mirrors"... Every team in this grade circles the Saturday that they play Jenks Maroon, and we all know it. Including you and the team you so shamefully represent.

You seem to waver between understanding this forum, grade, and the coaches that have been here since Mighty Mites and being so deep in your wittle hurt feelings over Jenks Maroon, that THIS is what's comical. I thought you had come around for a bit, but then you take 10 steps back. Back to the Penguin bus for you Jabs. Lose my number and stop texting me for Starbucks dates.

I expect  more from you, comparing scores is what novice fans do.  If we did that, I'm putting KU in my top 10 this week.  These games are all about matchups and I don't care how much film you have.  Watching teams play and truly being able to break down film is a completely different animal.  Maroons strength is speed and if you handle it, you have a game, if you cant, then here comes outside zone left and right.  Some teams can handle them and most teams cant, but in a league of their own they are not.
Biased? you lost to Maroon in playoffs and they played you to the wire this year.  You want...you need this team to be great so bad that you cant even see straight.
Tell me this ALLIN.  Who from Maroon you recruiting on your Classic team?   You guys have being drinking the juice so long that you no longer know which way is up.
Will Black beat Maroon?  My bet would be no, but that's not what I'm talking about.  The comment was made that these kids don't even need to show up.  Does your film tell you that?

As for Coach12
I am not saying Maroon is not a top team, but I am saying they are in a tier with a handful of other teams and each year that group has become larger.  As far as my team, I am not posting on here to "rep" any team.  This is more about me being annoyed by people living vicariously through youth football.  You think maybe you cant figure out who I "rep" because I don't come on here pumping any team specific.  I see talent and I respect it for what it is.  Some folks see talent and feel that their little world of hierarchy is being threatened.

Rumor has it that Future Owasso Rams will be distributing super bright colored flyers for football signups next season. Owasso could have a record number of parents faxing in their signup sheets next season. Look out Jenks America, we’re coming for you!

In all seriousness, it’s extremely impressive what Jenks’ youth football has been doing for decades now. The fact that there’s internal strife about which youth team is the best is a problem every HS football coach wishes they had.

Peterson is on our classic team. We asked last year but Gillespie had already gotten his commitment, and the Peterson's are men of their word.  Unfortunately he had that hammy injury and couldn't play which would possibly have been the difference in that game, which we squeaked by the Seminoles 6-0.

But let's not wade to far from the point.  Your disappointment for my logical comparison of teams aside, I can spot a strawman's logic from a mile away.  Comparing teams against like opponents is far from a fool's errand, and certainly is better than just declaring "I'm right and you aren't".  Bring the facts to this discussion before we all lose interest.  I enjoy dialogue about football, cause I love football.  I also have grown with this grade as a coach and as a dad.  My eye test holds a little weight, especially cause every single coach, dad, mom or player knows who I am and who I represent.  Every comment I make in here is a check my ass(and my kids) have to cash.  So when I use the fact that I have watched, broken down, documented, notated, studied, ignored my wife, ignored my job, completely disregarded the household chores in order to dissect film, and some anonymous jabarooni downplays it like hes Nick Saban gracing us with his presence, it brings a laugh to my bowels the likes of which only the red salsa at Los cabos gives me when paired with a few tall pacificos...

In short, there is one reason Maroon is better than 90% of the league, and in 4th grade won it.  I think we have figured it out.  And I'm damn sure not gonna give away the secret sauce to you or anyone else lurking about.  That wouldn't be sporting.  With all due respect, I'm 100% sure that if you have broken down film on maroon and everyone else and haven't seen it, than you don't know jack about the game.  And I said with all due respect.

It'd be great if you just admitted you were with Bixby Red and got it over with... The suspense isn't killing me, but it does own a small amount of real estate in my brain...

My guess is I don't know the game.  Those who know me understand that my football experience is shall we say.... limited
