BROKEN ARROW CHROME vs Bye
UNION BLACK vs MUSKOGEE
I have been able to see both these teams now. Union Black looks scary when they walk on the field, but when I saw them early in the year, they were just a mess of unsound football. It looks like the coaches have them cleaning up their game and moving in the right direction. IM taking Union Black by a couple scores.
JENKS MAROON vs
BIXBY BLUE This is going to be a good game. When these 2 played last year, I believe Blue was going in to score on the 5 yard line, in the last seconds, when Maroon got a pick 6 to seal the win. Both teams are good and I have been able to see both teams play this year. We know Maroon has #5 and #13, but the X factor for me is #8 for Maroon. He can be a major problem on D, and I am not sure how Blue plans to handle him. Best case for Blue is that he lines up over Penny every play. As far as Blue, I am hoping they have worked through their identity crisis and give Maroon a full dose of Dax and Blues O line. Dax is as good as they come at this age. If your using a pass for anything other than giving him a rest or opening up the run, its a detriment to the offense IMHO. That's not a knock on Blue, but a compliment to just how good Dax is.
I think Blue figures it out and pulls it out in a close one.
The loss results in a forum blackout when Maroons 10 coaches, 3 guys from their analytics team, and 2 of their strength and conditioning coaches, take a week off from posting. If I am wrong, forum gets a full does of "Latest top 10" in 3..2..1..
BROKEN ARROW SILVER vs SAND SPRINGS GOLD
Silver has been almost forgotten since they lost so badly to Maroon in week 1. I still think this is a solid team that will not only make the playoffs, but has the ability to make some noise in the playoffs. They win this one easy and shut to scoreboard off early second half.
BIXBY WHITE vs
OWASSO WHITE
This is just too much for the boys from Bixby. Lots of 1st year kids, but man do those coaches have them playing hard. I still think they have a chance to get a W this season, but this is not the week for it. Owasso takes out their "bye week off" frustration and turns off the scoreboard, but ALLIN is sure to let us know the real score, followed up with a "they fought hard to the very end"
DIV 2
BIXBY RED vs BROKEN ARROW BLACK
Red looked good last week against Jenks White, while Black looks like they lost interest in this last season of INFC football. I would lean towards this being a down week for Red, but BA Black has beaten Red 4 out of the 5 times they have played them....OUCH!. Even though its not the same team with out the man behind the curtain, Reds boys never knew who the coach was anyhow. Red comes out motivated and gets the win against a depleted BA Black team.
BARTLESVILLE vs
JENKS WHITE Bad spot for Bartlesville. 22 might score every time he touches the ball. Jenks White 35-0 first half
JENKS BLACK vs SAND SPRINGS BLACK
This is a game that doesn't get enough attention, but I see 1 "good" and 1 "really good" team going here. I think Jenks wins, but SS Black has some speed, size and talent. They have the ability to keep this close, if they can keep from imploding early. A team like Jenks has to be slowed down. They are use to scoring a lot and scoring fast. Like any good offense, they can get anxious if you can just slow it down. I have seen both teams play and SS can run down hill against Jenks all day long, but the outside will not be available to them with #12 roaming around. SS's #0 and #8 are strong backs and their line is big. IF the OC can stay patient and continue to pound in the middle, they can keep it close. If Jenks has an error or 2 and SS Black plays perfect, they could even have a shot, but if they get behind and start passing, the score will get out of control. As the saying goes "if you have the horses, you let them run. If you don't have the horses, keep the other guys horses in the stable" (just kidding, I made that up). SS defense will have no answer for #12 and I question if SS can play the patient game. I think Jenks pulls away after SS try's to go to the air early. Jenks Black 42-14
OWASSO SILVER vs SAPULPA
Silver is big and they have gotten through the meat of their schedule. I see easier games ahead and hopefully a gain in confidence. I am taking Owasso
UNION SILVER vs BROKEN ARROW PLATINUM
To me this is a play in game. Winner has the inside track for playoffs. I have not been able to see Platinum play yet, but by the scores, it is apparent that Cowboy has added some much needed fire power to both sides of the ball. Union on the other hand has just been playing consistent ball. Silver is 1 play away from being 4-0, but they could also be 1-3. Their style is not flashy , but they have figured out, at this level clean consistent ball can keep you in 90% of your games. I think Silvers #0 keeps Cowboy under control and Silver pulls out a close game and takes aim on Jenks Black and Bixby Red.
