5 and 9
Do tell!
I normally would not post on a Sunday, I try to post when I have nothing better to do, but I saw a few comments on the "5 and 9" and thought maybe I should post to end the suspense, since it really is not that interesting. I will say it was entertaining though watching you guys ponder. Coach12 comment on "5 and 9" being my height was classic Coach12, his wit continues to go unmatched.
As I said in my pickems, the scores of week 1-3 for these teams just did not add up to me on White being favored so heavily. Last years score between these 2 was what threw me for the loop, which had me thinking white and based on several of the other guys comments, it seemed to matter to them as well. So I put some weight in it and was given the stats below that made me pick Red.
9 - Number of players for Red in last years game against White that were playing out of position or playing a position for the first time to accommodate for missing players. Coaching error in my opinion.
5 - Number of Starters on this years Red team that did not play against White. I could go into detail on them, but I wont waste anyone's time. Just trust me when I say they are critical pieces.
5 - Number of pass plays Jenks White threw in the final minutes up 30-0
Getting pre adolescent kids to play football with emotion, can be a real challenge at times. My informant told me he felt that the late passes in last years game and the trash talk from white in their scrimmage this year might be just what they needed to get their kids fired up......Looking at the score, I would say his hunch was correct.
As Coach 12 humbly admits each week in his post when referring to Red "We know how good they are"
.....It looks like Jenks White now also "Knows how good they are"
