Fact?
Here’s some facts:
BXBB was ready to play on game day. SS chose not to play. By rule, that’s a SS forfeit.
1. Game week SS asks to reschedule because they had somewhere between 3 & 6 kids out due to non-covid related illness (let’s be honest, a key player; QB maybe? Or other)...don’t know for sure number cause the count changed day to day. Would SS let us reschedule if “3-6” of our players were out (rhetorical question not requiring an answer)?
2. They declined to play on game day.
3. Then Wednesday they wanted to make a plea to reschedule the game. Now SS says they had 10-kids out due to covid.
Aside: so which is it - covid or non covid? 3-6 kids, or 10-kids? Get the story straight, SS.
4. Regardless of covid rules expressed with all teams before the season about rescheduling and/or forfeiture, the standing rules applied - SS had more than enough kids to line up and play and they selected not to play - by definition, clear forfeit.
And if covid rules apply, then it’s a forfeit of the next two games (effectively, if the 14-day quarantine runs across two scheduled games, which in this case it would since notification was made midweek).
Oh but, wait; now back to the Wednesday night following the game...SS wanted to claim the 10-kids who were out were due to covid. So if that’s the story they’re going to stick to, then why did they play the week before AND more importantly the following two weeks? If it’s really covid, then they put all the other teams at risk and failed to quarantine.
SO, SS, which is it? Don’t come into the court of public opinion and spread misinformation for the sake of stirring the pot. You had a chance to be honest, play the game, and chose not to - plain and simple. Live with the consequences.
