Couldn’t have said it better! Football is so much more than football.

Don’t hate the player(fan), hate the game!

Believe I don’t hate the players. I hate people who get in here and state they all for the kids but are the main ones who are cheating but blames others of cheating and the commissioner continues to let it go on because the cheaters are in the GOOD OLE BOYS GROUP!!!! We have a release committee but the commissioner goes behind their backs and releases kids to other program who lives and goes to school in our district but it’s okay because it’s TYAA. Same thing happens this year!!! What’s the use of having rules when it only applies to certain programs???

They don’t hear you coach!!!!

Maybe more effort needs to be put into coaching kids up to make them a better TEAM than complaining about a bunch of things that are out of your control.  If playing football is keeping kids busy as 13 year olds I say good for INFC, BA, & Jenks for letting them play, because too much idle time isn’t good for any kid.

Additionally, you guys should also feel fortunate to have INFC for one more year. I wish Edmond had one more year in INFC. Edmond's best players from last year are scattered across several middle schools (most will be reunited in HS) and I have already covered several of their games. I'm overall disappointed by the level of coaching (or lack thereof) and buy-in from the already stretched thin school systems. It's no wonder the HS big school state championships are predominantly won by east-side teams... sigh!

My comment was a tongue in check jab at Raider about someone beating BXB Red! I’m with you CURTDOGG93 on letting the kids play.  Hell I wish BYFA would have let them play in our club, but I’m sure didn’t because we only have two teams with 25-26 kids on them already.

Imagine being so deliberately obtuse, you come on the forum to complain about a situation that you don't know the details about & then have the audacity to say it's cheating.

Do you even read the rulebook??

Here, I'll help you out.

Article 14, Article 2: A new player will not be permitted to join an association within INFC or participate with a team after the first game.
If a player moves in from an area outside of the INFC territory, the Commissioner may grant an exception. The request must be made early in the season.

Pay attention to that last part. Now certainly the three players didn't "move in" to the Jenks district, but were victims of an extraordinary circumstance beyond their control -TPS canceling middle school sports due to COVID concerns.

Every club that touches TPS was given the opportunity to accept these three players. Jenks said they would & the players were placed on the Maroon team because of roster numbers.

To say this is cheating & claim its fishy is supremely short-sighted.
One can only conclude that you are parroting from a pedestal of ignorance.

It IS about the kids & these players get the opportunity to play football this season. They can't play for TYAA because they were supposed to play school ball which was taken from them.

Those are the facts & to misconstrue it as anything else is asinine.

Was this offered to all TPS 7th graders or only the three mentioned in this thread? What about the 8th graders?

I understand both sides of the debate / argument, but as mentioned above there is probably more to the story.

Well seeing as how the INFC doesn't go beyond 7th grade, I doubt any 8th graders were afforded such an option. So that part of your question holds no relevancy here.

As for the 7th graders, I can only speak to the facts that were presented & to my knowledge those were the only ones who took the opportunity afforded them.

Its 7th grade football and your crying about a stacked team. How about you be happy that these 3 young kids get to play football after tps cancelled there whole season. Hats of to Jenks for picking these kids up and letting them hop on there team. Parents need to stop crying about stack teams or whatever its little league football. This is where kids learn how to play football and get a edge for the high school level.
