Sunday Shoutouts!
« on: August 30, 2020, 02:10:21 pm »
How about dem Chieftains of Sapulpa going over to Edmond, and giving a SOLID Bulldogs squad all they could handle?!  That's big time right there, great work Chieftains!  I still remember playing you guys and that # 80 (I think?) was putting someone on his back, pretty much every single play!  Way to get those boys fired up this weekend, and excited to see where your season goes!

McAlester coaches are fantastic, and love those guys!  Ever since our QB went off on a stretcher against them last year, and seeing how they reacted, helped out, and how much they cared for our little Q.  I've always had mad respect for those guys, and love how Football brings communities together.  # 2 is even bigger and faster than last year, IMO.  Dude is a total stud!  #11 I think might be new, but the way he would go up and get the ball, was pretty incredible!  Great awareness and body control, and great ability to high point the ball. Their lineman are big, physical, and go hard!  We had a hard time with their big boys, and guys were getting knocked around a lot!  Tough division, but I think this team will challenge everyone in it!  Those coaches do an awesome job developing those boys!

Bixby Blue looks even bigger than last year!  #13 is a monster, and they picked up another big kid too (#52 I think?).  They are a solid team, and are one PAT away from tying that game up, and pushing to OT.  They have a new kid, #65, I LOVED watching that kid play!  New to the team (and I think INFC?), and already one of the hardest runners in the grade.  He also is a total stud on D too, and fills super hard, and loves to hit!  I love watching this Bixby Blue team, and think they will have a great year!  Studs all over the field, and great coaches!

Bixby Red shows that they are the same Bixby Red team since Mighty Mites!  Super consistent, and they always show up in big games, and proved that once again yesterday!  So many studs on this team!  Everyone talking about Vaughn (myself included!) being gone, but #22, #45, #74, #7, and many others that have been ROCKS for this team since mighty mites!  They have won more big games then just about any team in the grade, and that experience showed yesterday.  Solid win, and puts them in the driver seat for playoff berths, as that was likely the most competitive D2 game this past weekend!

Does anyone else feel like we have to just appreciate literally each week we get this season?!  Greatest team sport in the world!  All of these boys are so fortunate to play it, and we are fortunate to have the opportunity to support them!!  So dang fun, these games are literally the highlight of the week!  PLEASE DON'T LET CORONA TAKE THAT FROM US!!!!

One more thought - what are your teams doing post game?  Obviously no handshakes or anything.  We just sorta grouped up at half field and clapped and yelled "good game" across at each other, but that's about it.  Anyone else line up and do knuckles or anything?  I'm guessing the INFC hasn't put out any guidance on that front?

I've seen a few teams line up and do elbow bumps instead of hand shakes.

Union Black or Sand Springs parents, coaches, players, concession stand personnel..... any one who knows the score to that game please post it. I know one of those teams has been on these forums. There’s no way you both lost. Sheesh

I know Sand Springs won. I think the score was either 9-7 or 9-6
