For discussion sake, cause I know PRESSPass is itching to talk about these matchups, here’s one man’s opinion...

Edmond vs TYAA - Edmond outscored opponents in the reg. season 305 to 8, or 38 to 1 (points per point); that includes playing the 2 & 3 seeds representing west. Dominating offense and complete defensive team, right?

Yesterday, the div. 4, 3 seed, BXBB forced Edmond to run 25 plays before first scoring, and after that managed 1 first down the rest of the day.

It’s been said by some in this forum concerning west competition that rising tides raise all ships. The tide hasn’t risen enough in the West this year for Edmond to take home a win this week, or a ‘ship for that matter. If this Edmond team stays together, maybe next year.

TYAA scores almost as well on Defense as they do on Offense. TYAA Defense is not only good, but fast and BIG. TYAA makes the best offenses look mediocre. TYAA beats wins out of teams with their team speed and hard hitting Defense. TYAA wins this one something to nothing.

Metro vs BXBRed - Red is getting healthy, offense is clicking, and to date, Red’s Defense is the ONLY team who has not given up a single TD in the regular or post seasons.

If anybody could manage a score against Red it’s Metro. Their coaches prepare well and put together good schemes, and they have the personnel to spread the field and stretch Red’s Defense creating some 1-on-1 matchups that could favor Metro. However, it’s never been enough to get passed Bixby, much less BXBRed. Red wins, only question is how big.

Any thoughts?
