So, last night's cold, wet games determined 3 of Saturday's 4 quarter-final game match-ups. Stay tuned tonight to see if Jenks Silver or Bixby Blue will be making the trip on Saturday to play in Edmond's brand-spanking new stadium. Also, half of the AA bracket will be decided tonight.

Kudos to my friend @Raider Nation on his son's team taking care of business to advance to the next round and also on his successful predictions for last night's games. Maybe Frontline was right to call him the "football prophet".   ;D

I'm not surprised by the Westmoore/SS result, especially considering the weather. I probably would have given SS the edge had I looked up the forecast for last night when I posted my picks. SS is a battle-tested, playoff-experienced team that has the toughness to play in those sorts of adverse conditions. To give them credit, Westmoore was able to score on one of the top defenses in the league, something the defending champs weren't able to do in the season opener. Good luck to their players, parents and coaches as they move into school ball next year.

I will admit I was a little surprised by the Choctaw/Owasso game outcome, even with the tough conditions. I'm glad to hear from @JackRabbitSlim that Choctaw made a good accounting of themselves and of the best in the west in the game. I also wish them good luck next year in school ball.

Hopefully, as the west teams continue to expand their presence in INFC, they will begin to develop the mental and physical toughness that is indicative of the best teams in the east. Developing these kids into tough and talented high school football players is the main reason we all do this.
