Legal uniform requirements?
« on: November 07, 2020, 10:27:44 pm »
I heard that one of the playoff teams had numbers that were unreadable with jerseys that looked like target jerseys.  Is this legal?  If so, I can imagine that all teams will move to jerseys like this!  Not just during playoffs, but entire seasons!  Thoughts?

Close, but it was actually Aldi. We also won because of them. They gave us such an edge. Just in case you were wondering.

Don't have a dog in the hunt but what is Aldi?  I shop there for good deals on cereal but not football jerseys?

LOL.. I think Coach12 read that as "Target (brand) Jerseys" hence the Aldi comment.

Thanks for the clarification.  I just wonder if now this will make any rule changes or if all teams will go to practice/target jerseys for all games.  Thoughts?

I’m not going to get on here and agree with my friend Coachemup about “who cares” because ya they def gave some advantages(like it was beyond hard as hell to know when Cato was lined up under center#13 vs Mavs boy #10). It’s a fact that if Cato is under center it’s a wedge or a bootleg. So crap like that is an advantage.

Now, does that mean it’s why we lost. No. And for that reason we don’t need to whine about it on a public forum. Tip my cap to jenks maroon and say good luck. We will do our best to get that W next time we line up.

We played 2 jenks teams this year and didn’t think anything confusing or hard to read about their jersey numbers.

Have you read the posts on this thread? If so did you comprehend it?

My mistake. It read like people were saying there were issues reading their jersey numbers and distinguishing some things based on their jerseys. If so, I didn’t see the issue when played them.

Just re-read it and did not fully comprehend it. They wore practice jerseys? Like the sorta crappy ones we all wear? I was originally going off what Coach Miyagi said elsewhere in a thread but didn’t mention practice jerseys. Apologies for the confusion.

My bad for getting chippy... Yea they wore some all black jerseys with graphite numbers.  In the end they lined up and beat us.  I wish someone who started this dumb thread would just delete it.  Stupid thing to be bitching about after a loss... I hope its not someone affiliated with O white.

I know that we were contacted about the issue from INFC offices last year on our 6th grade team. The allegations were that they didn't have numbers at all, but that was untrue. Then the discussion came down to competitive advantages. There is definitely something to it. It just depends on how hard a person wants to fight it. In most instances once a certain point in the season has been reached there is nothing you can do, but in the event that an entire jersey swap was done midseason or for certain games then an argument could be made. Not saying either way, but that has been my dealings with the issue.
