Next onside kick we recover, but offsides on kicking team, has to re-kick!  They recover and go down and score again.

That sucks.  I'd like to see offsides on a kickoff by the kicking team be a live ball illegal procedure foul that you can decline if the receiving team recovers the kick.  It just doesn't make sense to penalize the receiving team for the kicking teams mistake.  (Although, yes, i do realize as soon as the player is offsides anything after that technically never happened.)  Just my two cents worth.

I agree with you, at least on KO.  I think offsides on KO should be a declinable penalty.  Offsides on normal offensives set, should stay as it is today.  It's rarely a factor though, and there's not really a way for a Kicking team to "game it".  Just bad luck, so that rule will probably not change.

I was only talking about kickoff. My apologies if that wasn't clear. I do agree offsides on normal offensive sets should remain a dead ball penalty. I do understand and agree there's really no way for the kicking team to intentionally "game it" as you say and get an advantage, but it can negatively impact the receiving team, as it did in this case.  Like you, i agree it probably won't change because it is the current rule and everyone's playing by the same rules, but i don't see any harm in changing this one rule.
