Grove Ridgerunners VS Sequoyah Eagles
This has been a good season with all sorts of drama and surprise. While I was hoping the biggest surprise was a certain West team to win it all, sadly that didn't come to be.
I am how ever excited to see these 2 teams square off! so hear it goes! BOTH Semi Final games were regular season match ups and really had a chance to turn the tide of the Championship depending on who executed better.
Grove - One could look at their schedule and on paper say they might have THE top or one of the top Defenses all season. half the points given up came from 1 game that seemed to be a fluke after this last round of playoffs. Granted the TYAA white game never came but Grove shut down Muskogee 20-0 and that's a feat. All speculation/conspiracy aside GROVE EARNED THIS SPOT these boys are proving it week in and week out they SHOULD be on that field Saturday at 6pm in Bixby.
Sequoyah - Division 2 #1 seed, undefeated, battle tested, no doubt these Eagles are SOARING right now. This team IS the HIGHEST scoring offense this season left in playoffs (according to website this AM, a certain other teams scores are gone)...their defense aint too bad either though. The Eagles have had some close games this season and really the Semifinals seem to be the biggest test since week 1. Its hard to keep an Eagle down though. They fly... and their flying HIGH. Great job this season Sequoyah! Undefeated season, trip to the 'ship and a chance at making Saturday the 10th really memorable for everyone in your organization!
now for the pick
With the Eagles showing they can be contained (for a little bit) with a 7-6 game for 3 quarters against hard hitting Bixby defense I dare say they will have a harder time with Groves Defense. Luckily the Eagles defense holds their own, while their offense finds their proper cruising speed. Grove is playing with fire and passion and their Defense is putting in the work, but don't sleep on their offense. They've put up points against HARD teams, even though the game wouldn't have counted that TYAA White game would have answered a lot of skepticism for Groves abilities. Still the 20-0 win over GEE seems to be a pretty big statement and to come out in the Semis with a 32-0 win over a division opponent. CAN I GET A RIC FLAIR FROM THE PEOPLE!! WHOOO!!!!
This game is going to have it all. It wont be a shut down for either side its going to come down to which team can keep BOTH SIDES firing. Im throwing my pick to....

These guys just seem to have a leg up in the Defense with an offense that can take advantage of the beating the defense delivers. Good luck to BOTH teams! All your kids should be proud because it wasn't an easy season for anyone!!!
