AA Top 10 Week 6
« on: October 08, 2020, 12:42:31 pm »
I have finally got to lay eyes on most every team in AA save a few. I have got to see all of the teams that I consider contenders at least once and halfway through the season the playoff picture is starting to become a bit more clear.

1. Ft Gibson - I don't look for this to change until someone beats them. These guy's would be a legit threat to make the playoffs in any division in A ball. That isn't to say that they can't be beat in AA, but it isn't going to be easy.

2. Metro Dutch - These guys have a serious gripe that they should be #1 based on body of work. If I didn't know what Ft Gibson had done the past few years I may would put them there. In any instance it is all going to work itself out soon enough. Fun team right here for sure.

3. Berryhill - These guys could also stake claim to either of the spots I have listed higher than them. Berryhill is a good football team who could beat anyone in AA on the right day.

4. Sand Springs - The Sandites are a really good football team and like the common theme on this post could make the argument to be ranked higher. They have a couple of big games coming up very soon that would easily help them make that jump.

5. Catoosa - Catoosa is a good solid team. A win or a good showing against Ft Gibson would obviously boost them higher. With games against Berryhill and Ft Gibson still to play they could easily make that jump very soon.

6. Collinsville - The Dirty Birds picked up a huge win a week ago that IMO makes them one of the 3 playoff teams in D2. A good solid,  physical football team that brings their lunch pale and thermos to work each and every week. They just keep getting better and better.

7. BA Platinum -  Platinum is a good team. Defensively they are very sound and are not going to be an easy out for anyone. I have BA as the #3 in AA1 at a minimum.

8. BA Chrome - Last week's loss to Collinsville means that in order for them to make the playoffs they (like us all) need to beat obviously everyone in front of them, but IMO in order to make the playoffs they have to beat not only Sequoyah, but also either Hilldale or Metro Dutch.

9. Sapulpa - This Sapulpa team is my vote for most improved team from a year ago. They are not scared to play anyone and have not been an easy out for anyone to this point. They have a really nice back and play good solid defense. These guys are my pick for the #3 spot in AA3 at this time. A huge game looms against the Metro Commandos  that I have felt all along will ultimately decide who gets that 3rd and final playoff spot over there.

10. Metro Commandos - Silently plodding along the Commandos could turn my prediction around should they show up and beat a good Sapulpa team when that game gets rescheduled.

On the bubble:

Stillwater - If Stillwater could somehow manage to upset BA Platinum then they would be in the driver seat for that #3 spot in AA1. That game will be absolutely huge.

Hilldale - I would be lying if I told you that I didn't think that my Hornets were a Top 10 team. I certainly believe that we are, but at this time I feel as though the teams listed above are more deserving of a spot based on what they have done to this point.  If we continue to handle our business everything else will work itself out. These Hornets have a chance to jump up much higher on my list if we handle business over the next few weeks.

As usual all in fun and EPO. Best of luck to everyone this coming weekend.

Very nice, great breakdowns!

1. Ft. Gibson, totally agree that they are a playoff contender in A. They have it all, and are the hands down favorites to win the AA.

2. Dutch, taking down a really talented BA White was impressive(especially if the rumors that they played without their staring QB is true). Based on who they’ve played (and beaten) they could easily be #1.

3. Sand Springs, size and speed. They were competitive in A ball last year and appear to be mostly the same team they were a year ago with the exception of the new, very big, very fast RB they now have. Going to be a tough challenge for us this weekend.

4. Berryhill, all around solid team. Looking forward to seeing more of them of the next week.

5. Catoosa, they have one of the more dangerous RBs in the AA. But he’s not alone, they have several great athletes.

6. Collinsville, we’ll coached and getting better every week. They look to be heading towards peaking at the right time.

7. Hilldale, another well coached, well rounded team. If they put it all together they can beat anyone in the AA.

8. BA Chrome, great kids and coaches. They have to finish strong to make the AA playoffs. But they have the coaching and athletes to get it done, and I think they will.

9. Sapulpa, a tough out for anyone. From what I’ve seen and heard they show up mix it up and leave! And if you don’t come ready they can and will beat you.

10. Stillwater, similar to Sapulpa, Stillwater just does their thing. A tough game for anyone they line up with.

EPO... truth is it’s hard to pin down a top 10... there are so many teams in the AA that are on the same level.
