Week 2 Pick'ems!
« on: August 31, 2017, 12:50:38 pm »
Week 2 Pick'ems!
A long 2 weeks until we get to play again, but at least the boys will be ready to play some ball. Here are week 2 Pick'ems, post'em up! Good luck!

Union Silver (0-1) @ Bartlesville Blue (1-0) - Union Silver had a rough start losing their first game 27-6 against a very talented Bixby Blue team. Bartlesville squeezes by their first week with a 6-0  Victory over Owasso Black. Union Will need to break the iron curtain defense here to win this matchup. Bartlesville by 6

Wagoner Red (0-1) @ Collinsville (0-1) - Collinsville has lost some players from last year and it showed last week as they lost 35-0 to Bixby Red. This week they play at home against Wagoner Red, who lost a close one last week to Union Red 14-13. Wagoner has a very good chance to win this ball game in Collinsville, but it's a long drive and the boys better be ready. Wagoner by 13

Wagoner Black (0-1) @ Sand Springs (0-1) - Should be a good match up here, Power Offense against a Spread Offense. If Sand Springs can get their offense clicking and Linebackers can plug holes then they can win this, but it will definitely be a tough one for them. Wagoner is a Power Running team that is dependent on staying with the chains. If they can keep the chains going and not get behind them then they will find the end zone enough to win. The biggest difference between these two teams I believe is defense. Wagoner I think has the edge and I think this will be a closer than most think ball game. Wagoner by 10

TYAA White (1-0) @ TYAA Blue (1-0) - Game of the year? I don't know but TYAA White has improved their team with the addition of a couple more big boys and they have flexed their muscles against BA Silver winning 42-7 or whatever the final score was. TYAA Blue won 20-14 over Jenks Silver who is a very talented team as well. So how do we weigh in on this game? I think BA Silver is better than 42-7 even if they are a 1 man show, but they have the talent behind #3 so what is the issue? I'm going with TYAA White is better this year and BA Silver probably had a few things go wrong as well. TYAA Blue will have trouble trying to hit the middle, but I think they still can get outside. TYAA White will have to set the edges well, scrape, and break down tackle. Bluedogs on defense have always scraped well to the ball and this week they will need to do that and plug the hole with their linebackers well too. Calling the "upset" here. TYAA White by 1

Bishop Kelley (0-1) @ Grove (1-0) - BK has an early 11 AM Game in Grove this week. Ridgerunners have been consistently dominate in regular season play these last few years and looks like they are on the right track again. BK has a tough welcome into Single A this year playing the Eagles their first game and then the Ridgerunners their second game. Grove is too much for BK up front and that will be the difference here, Grove by 21

Bartlesville White (0-1) @ Bixby Platinum (0-1) - Both teams looking for their first win, how good is Choctaw White? They definitely surprised me last game, but I still think this Bixby Platinum team is good just most likely going through the same thing Catoosa did last year and that's trying to mesh with the new talent and get on the same page. Bartlesville White lost their #20 RB to Bartlesville Blue so where does that put them? Going to have to say Bixby Platinum by 12

Claremore (0-1) @ Broken Arrow Black (1-0) - Broken Arrow Black has 6 home games, 1 game at Catoosa, 1 Game at Jenks left. Oh man how nice would it be to have 6 home games and then the farthest you travel on your other two games is 15 minutes? Anyways they play a hard nosed Claremore team this week at home. Their new QB is still meshing with the team and they shut out Bartlesville White last week. If Claremore can contain the edges on defense then they can slow this team down, but I just think Broken Arrow Black is too much for them. Claremore is a very young team who can probably still play in the 10 and under Sooner Classic division. This is almost like a very mature 4th grade team. Broken Arrow Black by 18

Jenks Silver (0-1) @ Broken Arrow Silver (0-1) - Jenks Silver had to settle for a moral victory with the Bluedogs last week, but this week they get a BA Silver team who just got ran over by TYAA White. BA Silver better correct their mistakes and move on because this is a hot team and they will be ready to play. I think this is a good match up but I think Jenks Silver is more well rounded and able to play a more controlled ball game. Jenks Silver by 7

Lincoln Christian (1-0) @ Union Red (1-0) - Both teams coming off of close games last week but good wins for them. This should be a good game to watch, speed from both sides, but seems Union Red is having issues wrapping up tackles. They have some skilled players with a pretty good line. I think Lincoln can move the ball on them and that will be the difference. Not sure if Crazy Legs has had enough time to mesh yet to be a huge factor, but if so then it could be a 2-3 TD game. Lincoln by 7

Bixby Red (1-0) @ Broken Arrow White (1-0) - Looks like Bixby will improve to 2-0 here. This isn't Verdigris this week. Not sure what this BA team has as far as talent, but I know this Bixby Team is talented just curious to see how far this new coach can take them. So far seems to be doing a good job, but unfortunately their biggest tests are still in their future. They will be tested many times this year and will know exactly where they stand soon enough. This week I think they handle business once again. Bixby Red by 18

Owasso Black (0-1) @ Muskogee (1-0) - Owasso Black travels to Muskogee to play the Roughers who just came off a close game with Wagoner Black. Owasso Black showed they can keep a talked about Bartlesville Blue team to 7 points last week. I knew they could do that. They flow to the ball better than most teams out there. They are very small but tough and fast. This should be a good match up with Muskogee. I think it will be a low scoring game unlike last year. I don't think Owasso can move the chains well enough to keep it within a TD, but I do think they keep it within 2 TDs because of the match up. Muskogee by 14

Catoosa (1-0) @ Bixby Blue (1-0) - 9 AM? Are you kidding me? 1st Grade football again or what? Bixby Blue is a very talented team that runs a couple different sets of offenses. They can spread you out and throw, run a jet sweep give and take, run an Option Run Pass, or QB read. They have a speedster running the ball and QB who can throw to a receiver that can catch. Defensively they flow well, scrape well, and stay home very well. Should be a good defensive battle. They are small on the line, but fire off well. Catoosa is just ready to play some ball, 2 weeks off is way too long. Hopefully the big boys are ready to play and all they have to think about is football. The Indians have been working hard to get rid of the kinks and clean up their mistakes. Should be a good game to be a part of. Catoosa by 1

Jenks White (1-0) @ Sequoyah (1-0) - Great game here! Jenks comes off a win over a good Owasso Red team and Sequoyah comes off a 26-0 win over BK. The edge would go to Jenks White here with a top 10 win. They can throw, run, and play defense very well. Sequoyah well is the same Sequoyah team they have been for 5 years, line up and smack you in the mouth football. They run a great offense that is very tough to stop and they block very well and play great assignment football. They have a speedster RB and a very good pulling guard that gets to the second level and hits your linemen in the mouth. Corners are very good at staying home and scraping by lead blockers and linemen are tough and shoot gaps well. Going with the Eagles here by 12

Norman Timberwolves (?) @ Norman Tigers (0-1) - Tigers played a tough Union Black team last week and we don't have any information on the outcome of Timberwolves and Glenpool game. So with that being said I'll flip a coin and go with Timberwolves this week by 1

Choctaw White (1-0) @ Choctaw Blue (0-1) - Going with Choctaw White who had a surprising win in my eyes over Bixby Platinum last week 20-7. Blue lost to an unfamiliar Edmond team last week and failed to put the ball in the end zone. Maybe as the season goes on we will know more about these West side Teams. Choctaw White by 18

Edmond Bulldogs (1-0) @ Glenpool (?) - Edmond comes off an 18-0 victory over Choctaw Blue and Glenpool still hasn't posted their score. I know Glenpool is a talented group of kids, but I need more information on this team to make a strong opinion on this game. Edmond I need to see more like opponents to figure them out. I'm going to go with what I know and that is Glenpool. I do have my eyes on Edmond though. Glenpool by 2

Union Black (1-0) @ Owasso Red (0-1) - Owasso Red is loaded with talent, but this week is t any easier than last week. Union Black has a speedster that can get outside and once he gets on the edge he is gone. Owasso will need to contain him to win this game. What happened to the kid on Union Black that plays up 2 grades and is a true 3rd grader and bigger than any 5th grader height and weight? At the scrimmages he wasn't dressed out. Union Black by 1

Jenks Maroon (0-1) @ Coweta (0-1) - Both teams lost to good teams last week. Coweta has the players to win this and Jenks has the heart to win it, but I think Coweta wins this game simply because they have the skilled players to do so. Coweta by 12

Berryhill (0-1) @ Owasso White (0-1) - Berryhill got blown out by Sapulpa White last week 32-0, so that kind of maybe answers a few questions except we still don't know how the draft went for the Sapulpa Teams since they both won last week by 30+ points. Owasso White lost 14-0 against Stillwater last week. Stilly boys came to play. I think Owasso bounces back this week. #22 gets to run on the edges and score a couple TDs. Owasso White by 14

Stillwater (1-0) @ Pryor (0-1) - Oh wow Pryor loses 2-0 last week in a defensive battle with Skiatook and Stilly gets their season kicked off with a win over Owasso White. This will be a good game for both teams and could go either way, but I'm going to stick with the Stilly boys to get in the end zone and win. Just hope the boys aren't too tired from the long drive. Stillwater by 6

Hilldale (0-1) @ Sapulpa White (1-0) - I wish I knew more about Sapulpa White, I have a feeling this will be a good game. Not sure which side to go on and I heard Hilldale lost a couple linemen, but I'm not sure who. Looks like they're having a hard time finding the end zone as well. Sapulpa White rolled Berryhill over last week as well. Going to go with Sapulpa White here this week. They seem to be clicking why break that momentum. Sapulpa White by 6

Verdigris (0-1) @ Sapulpa Blue (1-0) - Verdigris could have been a great playoff team with the Catoosa 4th Grade Squad in 4th Grade, thanks guys they're a great addition to our team. Sapulpa Blue working on trick plays: Double Flee Flickers and Statue of Chieftain! Sapulpa Blue by 35+

Fort Gibson (1-0) @ Skiatook (1-0) - Fort Gibson looks to be a strong team this year, who did they get from Muskogee? Was it their WR that was catching everything down field last year? Skiatook needs to come and play strong here, they have always had a good defense but their offense has been lacking in certain areas causing them to either score a lot or not score at all. It's a ,not drive for Fort Gibson, but I think they get the win here. Fort Gibson by 3

McAlester (0-1) @ Metro (1-0) -  Metro will need to learn to be more than one dimensional with their spread offense to be a contender in AA this year. I'm thinking this will be a low scoring game but it could possibly go either way. Maybe Metro can get some of that super top secret film that Sapulpa Blue has and go 2-0 this week. Metro by 1

No info on Hilldale don't know much bout this year team. I know they still have some of my favorite players tho. FTG has a nice squad have a couple HitSquad kids from 3rd grade team. Not sure which players you thought muskogee lost from last year team tho.

Your Wide Reciever that you threw to last year, the one that would catch in stride :)

The question was "who did they get from Muskogee" you answered that with "kids from the 3rd grade team" Then I asked "was it the WR from last year". I asked that because someone had mentioned they thought you lost your reciever from last year and I asked before you answered the first question. Either way looks like it is working out for Fort Gibson.

I'm not sure they all catch in stride lol unless qb under throw the ball. Yes, FTG is really good my surprise team to go to AA championship. Just hold on in a few weeks catoosa will be able to find out if muskogee lost a WR or not lol.

This off week suck!! But week 2 will be here really soon.

Union silver vs. Bville blue- Good matchup speed vs. power. I think silver will see a lot of inside blitzing from blue. Blue seem to like sending a lot of pressure up the middle. I think silver will be able to get to the edge a few times to break a couple long runs. Silver also should be able to throw the ball down field on blue. Taking silver by a td.

Wagoner red vs. Cville- wagoner looked really good at the beginning of the game last Saturday. They scored on the first possession not sure what happened after that. Idk much about Cville this year but seem like they are a team trying to figure out their identity as well. Taking Red athletes to make a few more plays.

Wagoner black vs. Sand Springs- SS held a good catoosa team to within a touchdown. So I'm sure they have something over that way, but this wagoner black team is physical with a big 108 pound RB who knows how to run the ball. Wagoner defense is really stingy and very hard to run against. Taking wagoner by 2 tds

Tyaa white vs. Tyaa blue- GOTW I'm sure both coaches are letting their boys know what this game mean. But it's a regular season game, and non-divisional. Both teams will be a lot better and a lot different by the end of year. Whoever lose this game will definitely be hard to beat later in season. Blue has the best playmaker in the 5th grade (chief) when a play need to be made somehow and some way he makes it happen. White have to contain him early and don't let him get a cheap td. White has the speed to match blue, and the power to over power them. I expect this game to go into 2 overtimes with chief making a play and getting blue the win.

BK vs. Grove- Grove get the win here, BK will not give up and all those boys will continue to get better. Grove by 28

Bville white vs. Bixby Plat- Not to sure what happen to platinum last week, maybe Choctaw is a lot better than last year. But this week I'm taking White to get their first victory. Bville by a td

Claremore vs. BA black- black pitched a shutout last week and I expect them to do the same this week. Zebras don't have the speed to threaten black, and don't have the power to push them. Black by 21

Jenks silver vs. BA silver- Jenks is that team that just come to play football. I heard they have a qb who has some power when running the ball. #3 for Jenks is a downhill RB who run with power, and has the speed to get to the edge. BA has a really good RB but one kid can't beat the solid teams in this league. Jenks by 2 tds

LC vs. union red- both teams are evenly matched in size. This should be a good fast game. I'm taking union red for the upset win. That RB is the real deal. Red by a td

Bixby red vs. BA white- Red this has to be the perfect way to start after losing a HC and a legit RB. Red will continue to roll in week 2, flying under the radar working on getting that offense where it needs to be. I expect the defense to be a lot faster this year. Red turn clock off

Owasso black vs. Muskogee- Great game to begin the season for muskogee last week. Had a few things that needed to be corrected. Wagoner black definitely made our boys play physical type football and that's what we was pleased with. Division 3 has a lot of teams who play with power so it was good to see our team stand ground. Owasso played us last year so I expect them to come with a different game plan. Muskogee squeak out by a point.

Catoosa vs. Bixby blue- GOTW #2 Catoosa seem to have had trouble last week with Sand Spring not sure what happened over there. But this week they have to play with their A game. So no more top secret mode Bixby will be there to bring out the best in catoosa. Bixby is undersized but this team been together since MM so they know how to play with each other. Bixby has speed, can run misdirection and have you confused. But if they choose to throw the ball that will be a problem. Qb arm isn't strong enough to throw deep, a good ball hawking safety will pick it every time. To much air under the ball and under thrown a lot. Catoosa will keep it close but can the Indians put points on the board? Bixby by 2 tds

Jenks white vs. Sequoyah- GOTW #3 let the Eagles fly high! This will be power on power, Sequoyah has one of the most difficult offenses to figure out if it's your first time playing them. The first half will be difficult for Jenks, but I think that D line for Jenks will also be a problem for the Eagles. Jenks white has a QB who can really throw it deep, I think white sneak a pass by the eagles for a big play. White by a td

Norman win
Choctaw win

Edmond vs. Glenpool- taking Edmond by a td

Union black vs. owasso red- Red has a solid defense heard they got pass happy and threw a few to many picks. I think this week they get back to what they know and play solid football. Black has a RB that will be hard to stop but one kid can't beat a solid team. Red by a td

Coweta win
Owasso white win
Stillwater win
Hilldale vs. Sap. White- Hilldale has the power on the D line to push white O line back, but do Hilldale have the speed on the edges to contain the RB? I don't think they can stop him plus white also can throw the ball with a good WR. White by 2 tds

Verdgris vs. Sap. Blue- verdgris a first year team will give they all, but don't think it will be enough to keep the clock on. Blue win

FTG vs. Took- FTG keep doing what you doing go get that win. FTG turn clock off

Bluedogs vs TYAA WHITE.  Some are kinda upset  with the two teams playing each other but I think it's Big Time. Salutes to the INFC for the match up. And there's other non division matches up that the INFC scheduled. #hatsoff

Dang Strat ain't picking tha Bluedogs. 2 years undefeated, 2ships,. Non divisional game. We playing wit house money. This game means more to White than us. If we're close late in the 4th, we will make a play to win as always. Just ask Wagoner, BA Black, Grove, Jenks Silver, Catoosa and TYAA White!!. BLUEDOGS get it done!!
