Scrimmage thoughts.
« on: August 11, 2018, 11:29:40 am »
What did you guys see out there today?

I will be first to say we was the worst on the field today!! We didnt score at all amd got scored on a lot. I'm struggling myself with these boys but keeping in my mind its not about the start but the finish and we did get better as the scrimmage went on. And we will get better and compete!

Hilldale strong defense with a MLB that will flat out lay you out! Loved it!

Sapulpa looks way better than the film I seen of them from last yr. Fly to the ball on D! And hard runners!!

Catoosa has some speed on O. Solid lil first yr team!

O red....out ran us all day and threw the ball good also. Had a WR that made a great catch.

U Silver is incredibly fast and physical on D. Don’t foresee anyone getting outside on them.
Bixby White still is an efficient offensive unit even without their burner from last season. Good solid oline, and offense plays to it’s strengths.
Sequoyah has a scrappy d, and are not lacking on physicality.
Metro is still Metro. Good coaching and nice athletes equals good football. RBs are patient and will wait for crease then...zoom!

Glad it was an early scrimmage. Got kinda warm during the end. As far as my boys, proud of their efforts. Just like every team, time to iron out the kinks and try every day to get better each day.

Bixby red defense not what I expected! Championship could slip away if they don't tighten up, but I'm sure they will! I watched ored score on them a couple of times.
Ored not as fast as previous years but that qb has some good targets to hit down field and defense was sloppy. I'm sure they'll get it together pretty quick.
Sapulpa has some speed and some hitters this year!
Hilldale is big and strong and will hit you in the mouth. Not sure how their d looked but was pretty explosive on offense.
Pryor needs some work all the way around,  they're mostly lacking in size.
Crossover looked real good on d, never let coweta white get more than a 3yd run. They've got speed in the backfield and a pretty solid line.
Sand springs defense looked good as usual, they fly to the ball and tackle very well. Didn't see offense.
Muskogee green has some quick ones to watch out for as well!

Pryor...the ones that need work! And your 100% right!!

There is no way but up. I knew this team needed some work but had no idea how much. But that's why I decided to be apart of this squad...couldn't let them keep going on same path. Taking the challenge head on!!! Been here before with a squad. But These boys didn't even know what a 'Base' offense or 'base' defense meant... 5th yr players! So we're behind the schedule I had. Missing 3 key players today but no excuses... we should have at least got in endzone once and stopped Catoosa more... wasn't even close to ready for what O Red was doing! We will slowly build as a team and finish stronger I promise. Working on changing our mentality and fundamentals 1st! They hit the heck out of each other on D Day but went straight backwards when had someone else in front of us...Mentality!!! Going to be a building fun year cuz when they get it...means we have done our job as youth coaches!

I know I talk a lot lol but just love talking football.

Still Always...Let's Go!!

I was also impressed by SS. QB has a cannon.

Crossover always brings it. QB had has real good mechanics! And they was just mean but SS gave them all they can handle on D!

What I seen of B Red...big and fast!

Bixby red is a good squad.. only ones that scored on us had kids in different spots and seeing what we could do it’s a scrimmage right..lol  Justin’s crew is a class act.. they will only get better..

Pryor is rebuilding. But if they get it they will be good.

Catossa same thing new team right?

Ored has a good tall d end that likes to talk and my boys didn’t take that kindly.. we tried just different plays on the fly against them and confused my qb sorry son lol but broken plays turned big for us.

Seen Berryhill may have been watching film and learned a few new plays from filming 🤷🏻‍♂️ But we shall see..

Hilldale looked great as well being 1 of the only teams to beat them last year. I like they’re style.
Great squad!!

We had hard hitters last year as well.. And they are back bigger faster and have been working out all summer.. and gained two fast hard hitters since I lost one player to bixby red lol..

Just my 2 cents

Fan....you guys are twice as good as I seen last yr. I say you will be in A next yr. And your pick up should make a huge difference for sure! Probably could make A playoffs to be honest! Great Job today!

I seen bixby red play and they look tough. So they won it last year? We only played defense against them but they scored 5td’s 😬. They werent affraid to throw deep but had a strong running game.

Metro, played well on defense. Good discipline and solid tackling. Salutes
BA Orange, I saw some nice plays but consistency is this teams biggest challenge.
BXB White, boy do they miss their game changer. However it gonna take sum time for them to learn to play without him.
Sequoyah, they will punch you in the stomach...literally!!!
