@Metro1, Becuz I'm in favor of stacked teams..I think I always make that clear! I think AA should be a developmental Division. What I don't agree with is a A quality team playing in AA. Metro is just as good and talented and well coached as Union Silver if not better,  they should be playing in A. If you asked any coach in this grade I sure they would at least admit that. That's all I'm saying.

I’m not involved in this grade but have raised the question in 4th and 6th grade. I’m not weighing in on the argument just a solid issue raised by @OCD. We as coaches have made an outside vendor thousands of dollars because we don’t share film league wide. Why don’t we wise up and download our film to a YouTube site that can be shared/viewed by whoever wants to see it. Yes, we bought the $700 package and it’s great. However, there are many teams who can’t afford to do this. I know in the past we have always shared film with however wants it and JR from Catoosa showed us the way on that. He would and will give you anything you want including film on them. Therefore, we have followed suit and always will. I’m not taking sides only saying we should save money and collectively join forces and openly download our film to a free YouTube site. I believe that’s in the best interest of the kids, development, and the teams as a whole. Just my opinion

Captain D agree on your post about film.  The other thing about the film service is your film is only as good as the person filming it.  Sometimes you get to watch the inside pane of a window instead of the end of the play.  If I’m paying $700 for film, I don’t need bad commentary and reactions to Plays or hearing about some chick that you took home from the bar.  Just film and leave the breakdown and critique to the coaches.

As head coach of Owasso Black I have watched our team go from good to really bad over the past three years!  I cant blame anything but baseball on that.  Last year we returned 6 players out of 15 and this year we returned 9.  To say we are a rookie team is an understatement.  I have been so proud to coach these boys because they return week after week after week despite getting their drums beat in every single game!  When I saw we were in AA this year I was surprised and happy.  However it did give me a false sense of security.  I have yet to play a team that was not sound on almost all aspects of the field.  That's not to say they don't belong there but dang there are some good teams in the AA.  We played Metro and they made us look like we have never stepped on a field before and they are good!  Well coached and well motivated.  My issue is we are still going against teams with 20 plus players and as a team with only 15 that kills us.  When we have unprecedented heat it takes a huge toll on us.  I believe there should be some sort of equation that can be developed in order to determine a teams eligibility for the AA thus creating no arguments.  It can be done.

As far as video?  Come on people pay up!  I did pay for a large part of the cost of the service with donations from my parents.  Its the only way to go so I can deal with football and not begging for video.  It is correct to say that I could live without the commentary  and dang it get all the plays on film please!  My son had an amazing sack last week and I went to show it to family and it did not make the film reel!  Yea I was pissed!

It’s becoming a larger issue the older the boys get. We all started with 16 but due to attrition we are all down numbers. We need to combine but then who takes a knee and pulls out.  We all do this for our boys but I would hate to loose five years of tradition myself ( except for getting our butt kicked lately).  We all have players that are just there to play and have fun and then There is always the true grit play at high level all the time players. So when the first becomes greater than the second it becomes a nightmare of a game.

Momma I agree...just got under my skin...not really me to disrespect volunteer coaches...too often anyway...but moved on from that...said what I said.

I still think it's absolutely ridiculous to pay $700 to get film!! When we are youth and HS's don't pay that much...we could save volunteer youth coaches and parents a lot of $...ijs

People did this last year about Lincoln Christian and they won it all and should’ve and they’re 2a or 3a? Oh and they only had 15 kids last year I believe..

Seems funny we have 3-6A schools in AA and people are complaining about Metro Christian.

The majority of the complaints or accusations in these forums are usually about the teams that are winning.
