Divisional Breakdown Week 7
« on: October 14, 2019, 09:53:56 am »
( )* Possible playoff matchup

D1
Pretty boring over here in D1 as nothing's changed this past week in the division. All 3 seeds still locked in. To pass the time, here's my ranking of the D1 mascots. 1. Millers 2. Pioneers 3. Yellowjackets 4. Timberwolves 5. Wildcats 6. Wolves (only bc there's no timber). On the real, this will be a cake week for the top 3 . Norman and Piedmont will have no worries as they play host to the two Yukons, while Stillwater plays the struggling Norman Tigers. Choctaw gets their shot at #3 from D2.

1. Norman Twolves (O-White/Glenpool)*
2. Piedmont (TYAA/Bixby Blue)*
3. Stillwater Blue (BA Black)*

Eliminated:
Edmond Wolves
Yukon Red
Choctaw Gold

D2
The top two seeds have been set for weeks now. Edmond needed to step outside D2 to get somewhat of a challenge. They have only been scored on once through 7 games, but have played teams with a combined record of 23-38-2. The Piedmont game will be a good test to see just how good they are. #2 Yukon survived a scare from a 1 win Edmond Wolves team. These last two weeks will give them a good glimpse of what playoff teams look like (Twolves/Piedmont).. The #3 seed will be determined in the regular season finale with the winner of the Choctaw-Stillwater game. Two teams with a combined 68 points scored, and 312 points allowed, and one of them will be a playoff team. Gross!

1. Edmond Bulldogs (BYE)*
2. Yukon White (Union Silver)*
3. Stillwater Gold 2-2 -1 (TYAA/Bixby)*

Still in contention:
Choctaw Blue 1-2 -11

Eliminated:
Norman Tigers
Westmoore

Key Games this week: None

D3
The 3 teams are locked in, with only positioning for the #2/#3 seed left to be resolved. Jenks clinched the #1 seed with a win over Glenpool in what was arguably the game of the year in the league. Had me on the edge of my toilet seat as I was watching the film! For the second straight season, the reigning PST champs go into the following season and secure a playoff bid. (Bixby Blue 2017/O-White 2018). Good stuff right there. O-White clinched by beating a very solid BA White team, who for the first time since the transition to 11 man, will be missing the playoffs. That makes WEEK 9's contest between the Rams and Warriors for the #2 seed in D3. Winner gets the 2 seed, loser gets the 3 seed. Congrats to these 3 teams on earning a seat at the table! D4 has gotten most the pub, and is a gauntlet no doubt, but TOP to BOTTOM, this is the toughest division in my opinion.

1. Jenks Maroon 5-0 +31 (Bixby/Coweta)*
2. Glenpool 4-1 +24 (Lincoln Christian)*
2. Owasso White 4-1 +24 (Norman Twolves)*

Eliminated:
BA Chrome
Muskogee
Union Black
McAlester
BA White

Key Games this week: Glenpool vs Owasso White

D4
I may embarrass myself but here goes nothing. A black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light can not get out. A BA Black hole is a place on the football field where practices are so brutal and strenuous that only the toughest of 5th graders can survive them.. This really is a good, solid group! Of KIDS that is. After a minor week 4 set back, Lincoln Christian has played like a championship contender these last 3 weeks, outscoring opponents 103-14 (two of those being Bixby Red/Jenks White). Barring #44 getting his license suspended, they will be the #2 seed. 3 teams sit tied at 3-2. Here's their remaining schedules: Coweta- Bixby/LC.. Bixby- Coweta/Claremore.. Jenks- O-Black/BA Black... There is always the chance for some chaos, but a Bixby win over Coweta this week essentially seals the deal and will give them the #3 seed. Coweta not only needs to beat Bixby, but needs to do so by 4 or more, and they will be the #3 seed. The ONLY way Jenks gets in, is if they win out.

1. BA Black 5-0 +37 (Stillwater Blue)*
2. Lincoln Christian 4-1 +27 (Glenpool)*
3. Coweta Black 3-2 +15 (Jenks Maroon)*

Still in contention:
Bixby Red 3-2 +6
Jenks White 3-2 +3

Eliminated:
Claremore
Owasso Black
Wagoner

Key Games this week: Bixby Red vs Coweta Black

D5
This division is 98% of the way set, as the only way Sand Springs gets in, is if they beat TYAA, and U-Silver drops one of their last two. Very unlikely, but you never know! I know they would love to have a do over on that week 5 game. The matchup we've all been waiting for will be happening this Saturday as TYAA travels to Bixby to take on Blue sparty with the division title on the line! The winner will also get a much easier 1st rd draw, as well as avoiding BA/Jenks. The loser will end up the #2 seed, and will take on Piedmont first round. Gonna be an exiciting one! Maybe TYAA will finally give up some points.. We'll see!

1. TYAA 5-0 +40 (Stillwater Gold/Choctaw)*
2. Bixby Blue 5-0 +38 (Piedmont)*
3. Union Silver 3-2 +8 (Yukon White)*

Still in contention:
Sand Springs 3-2 +9

Eliminated:
Catoosa
BA Silver
Jenks Black
BA Platinum

Key Games this week: Bixby Blue vs TYAA

AA1
Verdigris is playing their best ball at the right time as they have rattled off 5 straight W's and sit in the #1 spot with two weeks left. They step outside the division this week, while they watch closely on that Hilldale-Pryor game. A Hilldale win would set up a week 9 clash with Verdy for the division title and #1 seed, making Pryor the #3. A Pryor win, would create the possibility of a 3 way tie for first, if Hilldale went on to beat Verdy in the finale. Needless to say, two huge matchups these coming weeks. These three can finish anywhere from 1-3. The fourth and last playoff spot will also be on the line Saturday with Bartlesville playing host to Coweta. Win and you're in!

1. Verdigris 5-0 +38 (South Tulsa)*
2. Hilldale 4-0 +29 (Collinsville)*
3. Pryor 3-1 +15 (Bishop Kelley)*
4. Coweta White 2-2 +3 (Berryhill)*

Still in contention:
Bartlesville Blue 1-3 -16

Eliminated:
Skiatook
Sequoyah

Key Games this week: Hilldale vs Pryor Coweta White vs Bartlesville Blue

AA2
The top 4 is set! Only positioning left to be determined. Berryhill dominated this past week to improve to 7-0. Only undefeated team left in AA. A win this week ensures they will be the #1 seed in the playoffs. A win this week also solidifies Bishop Kelley being the #2 seed. BK has a non division game week 9, so this is their last game in the division, and should finish 5-1.. They will definitely be rooting for the Chiefs, as a Collinsville win Saturday will create a 3 way tie for 1st, leaving it up to marginal points. As it stands, the birds would have the edge there, more than likely giving them the #1 seed. Berryhill owning the H2H over BK would give them the #2, and the Comets the #3. Everything is in front of these boys, just gotta go get it! South Tulsa will be a scary 4 seed for the AA1 #1 finisher, as their losses will have been to the top 3.

1. Berryhill 4-0 +23 (Coweta/Bville)*
2. Bishop Kelley 4-1 +16 (Pryor)*
3. Collinsville 3-1 +22 (Hilldale)*
4. South Tulsa 2-2 -1 (Verdigris)*

Eliminated:
Sapulpa
Bartlesville White
Holland Hall

Key Games this week: Collinsville vs Berryhill
