2016 Championship Poll
« on: November 10, 2016, 08:53:16 am »
New Champion for 2016.

D2 Rematch from earlier in the year. First game Jenks won 34-12. And jfyi those 12 points wasn't scored on Silver's defense....special teams.

I do believe Claremore has grown since that game but still IMO not enough to beat J Silver! But may give them a better game I'm sure!

Going with Silver to bring home the Gold Ball!

Great job to both teams, it's a chore to make it to the end.

I'm with OCD on this one, Silver is a machine.  I said it week one after they thrashed us, "if Silver doesn't win it all this year, I'll be shocked......".....

So, Claremore, go out there and shock me!

Good luck, all!

OCD, I watched the BA B/Claremore semi-final and although Black was tough, they could not stop #49.  Your team was well coached, the players disciplined, and the fans extremely loud.  I definitely believe the Zebras has improved over the course of the season.  As you know, #49 burned Jenks Silver twice on special teams, and he will score in the championship.  However Silver has the speed to catch him just often enough, and Jenks will certainly score points.  Good luck and I pray for no injuries on both teams.

Jenks Silver:  30
Claremore:    22

I too was at the BA Black / Claremore game but it was very oblivious that #49 was the game changer in that game. Two very different teams BA a power team Drive the ball down the field and score and Claremore Speed Speed and more Speed! Looked like BA knew what was coming but didn't have the athletes to stop it (SPEED). With that being said Jenks does have the athletes to stop it. But the facts are Jenks Silver is just a better rounded team with very little if any weeks spots. And the Coaches will have them prepared and coached up ready for Saturday.  Anyway congrats to all the teams that made it as far as they did.. IMO

Jenks Silver - 30
Claremore   -   6

Claremore definitely could score. Just pointing out a fact of the first match. I have a few ties with some Claremore players and would be proud of them if they pulled it off... Just don't think it will happen. Where Claremore has some athletes no doubt and some High IQ... Silver has some very high IQ athletes that basically coach on the field during play. I don't think anybody has ever shut out T Red which has some of the fastest kids in the land! Offense is similar but different also.

And your right 49 has came on the scene and tore it up!! And #3 is a very hungry player also.

I said this before #6 for Silver is one of the best youth MLB I've ever seen and coaches the defense on field. Rare kid that leads a stout D! And there's plenty others as we know... Just this kid really impresses me!

Not to mention how them Silver boys have been having the taste in their mouth for 2 years.. apparently them boys hungry!!

Congrats to both and Go Get Em!!

Great run by both teams. I will say this with all respect. 26-0 Jenks Silver. They are well coached and they are all on the same page. Kids are football players and not just out there having fun. It is all business for them.

the game was alot closer then the score was claremore was snaked in the 4qtr when the game was 20-24 claremore had the chance to win in the 4qtr came do to a crazy 4and9 jenks had the ball and was stop a yard short and the ref's gave them the 1st down that was the turning part bc if claremore got the ball with those last 3:24left they would have won hands down overall the game was good until that point in the game

Not quite.  In the play in question, the ref actually gave the running back a horrible spot.  I was sitting basically straight down the line to gain, and when the running back hit the ground, the ball was clearly a full yard past the line to gain.  But even after that, claremore had the ball a few more times and didn't score on any of those, so to say they could've won if that call goes the other way is a bit of a reach. I believe on the possession after jenks scored and kicked off, they forced claremore into a 4th and 20+, so to say claremore "definitely" would have won is absurd.  Possible, sure, but Definitely, not so much.

That being said, claremore was definitely much improved from earlier in the year.  Definitely deserving of being there and played a great game.  Silver's toughest game of the year for sure.

Blue team
I appreciate what you said but truth be told
We had our opportunities to go ahead and win the game but we did not capitalize on those. We allowed a kickoff return for a touchdown which we hadn't all year that I can recall and we missed all but one of our extra point attempts and if we don't do those things it's a tie ball game at worst
The spot was "ifie" I was standing along the fence following the plays up and down the field but of course I will be biased. Jenks made no mistakes and played a great game! We tried and came up short we could have played better but we couldn't have played any harder and the boys gave all they had. Jenks boys told ours in the handshake line to keep it up they were in our shoes the year before and they knew the feeling! We will take the loss and improve and get better and hopefully be on the winning side next year. We got little notice during the season and that fine by us and was given no chance by some to beat jenks but we played them tough and had our shots we will be back and I hope everyone has a great Holiday season.
