WEEK 6 PICK EM'S & GOTW/NOTABLE GAMES
« on: September 30, 2018, 10:44:04 pm »
Week 6 incoming! Past the half way mark!

Division 1

Owasso White (5-0) Vs Coweta Black (2-3) (Coweta Black) To me Coweta Black is the better team by a lot. The issue with Coweta in every game they have played this year Turnovers! They have to get that under control moving forward. I like what Owasso White has done so far this year, but that schedule is just to weak for me to be on board with them pulling the win. I like number 20 at QB and that #3 has some good speed and the double wing t has been working for them. Coweta has the second best back in the league with number #1 he is super fast and just has a dominant stiff arm. There D is very aggressive! I'm taking Coweta 20-0.

Claremore (1-4) Vs Bartlesville (0-5) (Claremore) Claremore has a stud Rb that can move and make a lot of people miss. They will be able to move the ball down on Bartlesville and score a lot. I do not see them being stopped on O. Bartlesville is its own worst enemy to many weird formations, toss plays with no outside blocking scheme. They need to go to a vanilla offense and just run the ball downhill and get some momentum. they got some players that can play. I like Claremore 35-0

Skiatook (1-4) Vs Glenpool (5-0) (Glenpool) Skiatook has #14 he has always been a great player and man is he fun to watch on offense. The problem they have is O-line seems to have some holes in it and the D is missing speed to tackle some of the runners in this grade. But this Skiatook team has talent and we will not be overlooking them. I have already watched all 5 of there game 2 times. Yeah I know I have a problem. We need to iron some things out for us to be successful in this game and stop having penalties and bad snaps. When were firing on all cylinders we will be a tough team its just getting the kids to perform  every game and every play.

Broken Arrow Platinum (3-2) Vs Bixby Red (3-1) (Bixby Red) Bixby is loaded with talent and wouldn't be surprised if there back in the title game to defend that crystal ball. They might have more kids this year but the will get that ironed out to make sure it never affects them in a game. They have studs everywhere I was super impressed with #45 on D. We kept sending 2 people to block him and we could not block him. He also ran my QB down from 15 yards back. They have a great offense that just needs 25 back . #31,#28,#26 are very impressive and have great 2nd level blocking. and can run 2! Broken Arrow will stack the box and blitz like crazy Bixby will need to be ready. man that D is no joke they come downhill and make nice plays. I like Bixby to come back after a loss and have everything ironed out and blow out Platinum 26-0

Union Red(2-3) Vs Bye Week (0-5)(Union Red)

Division 2

Wagoner (2-3) Vs Catoosa (3-2) (Catoosa) Catoosa just has enough on Offense to win this game. I like Wagoner's D way better but there O is lacking. Catoosa got that trip game down on the runner which is perfectly legal. I like Catoosa to give the ball to #6 and let him do his work! Catoosa 13-6

Hilldale (1-4) Vs Owasso Red (1-3) (Owasso Red) I like Owasso Red to squeak one out here. This will be a low scoring game. Whoever can find the end-zone is going to win this one. I like O-red to get in the end-zone on the first drive and stall after that to win 6-0

Broken Arrow Black (4-0) vs Broken Arrow Silver (0-5) (Broken Arrow Black) Well at least its a home game for both teams. Ba Black on another steam roll just way to good for Silver to even have a chance. Ba Black 35-0

Mcalester (3-2) Vs Jenks White (5-0) (Jenks White) They have to much firepower for Mcalester to stay in this game. They will get the ball to #22 and let him do the work that man is a animal. Mcalester is really getting better every game and they have improved so much from last year. But there just not on the same level as this Jenks team. Jenks 27-6

Division 3

Wagoner (2-3) Vs Catoosa (3-2) (Catoosa) Catoosa just has enough on Offense to win this game. I like Wagoner's D way better but there O is lacking. Catoosa got that trip game down on the runner which is perfectly legal. I like Catoosa to give the ball to #6 and let him do his work! Catoosa 13-6

Muskogee (0-5) Vs Tyaa Red (4-0) (Tyaa Red) The Dawgs get the W. They need to get that Offense going been pretty sloppy these first 4 games. But that D is on another level so far. They have the talent to be the best in the grade just have to put it all together and show it on the field. The Gee just looks lost out there so far this year. Tyaa gets it rolling quick and gets that 35-0

Pryor (2-3) Vs Bishop Kelly (1-4) (Bishop Kelly) The Comets are a very solid team that has had a very tough road so far. Playing 3 playoff teams from last year. They should have won last week. I like the Comets in this evenly close match to pull out the W. They have a very nice offense and #12 is fun to watch. Pryor has the same chance to win this game if they play mistake free football. Im taking the Comets 18-6

Union Silver (3-2) Vs Sand Springs Black (1-4) (Union Silver) Union Silver has a stud rb #13 who can make plays from everywhere and is just as good on Defense. Sand Springs is struggling to find there identity. I like U-Silver to get #13 the rock alot and cruise to a 28-0 win.

Broken Arrow White (5-0) Vs Owasso Black (2-3) (Broken Arrow White)

Division 4

Edmond (4-1) Vs Norman T-Wolves (4-1) ***GOTW*** (Edmond) To me Edmond is firing on all cylinders and looks no where close to the team they were when they played Bixby Blue. This team is coached so well its fun to watch them on offense and defense. #26 is a stud lineman and man when he pulls he lights people up!! There D Is phenomenal and will be able to stop the T-Wolves from scoring. The only issue I see with Edmond is they players they have. Trying to get all there subs in. They can be tough if you wait till last min. The T-Wolves have great backs and a great QB but I see Edmond being in the backfield every play stopping them before they can get loose.  The T-Wolves have a stellar D allowing Exactly 0 Points all year. They just have so much speed on the D that its hard to break one on them. But that is the Key here. Edmond is a team that can chip away and get 3 or 4 yards a play. They run that shotgun wedge play very successful and I see that being effective against the T-Wolves. Dont get me wrong if Edmond comes out laying a egg like they did to Bixby they will lose this game. Im going with Edmond 6-0

Stillwater (3-2) Vs Choctaw Blue (4-1) (Choctaw Blue) This Stillwater team is a salty team that is just in a super tough division. I like Choctaw D to hold the pioneers to a shutout. Choctaw does nothing fancy on o but its not needed with the D they have. I like Choctaw to come out firing and pull out the W 21-0

Choctaw Gold (2-3) Vs Bixby Blue (3-2)(Bixby Blue) My gut is telling me to take Choctaw in upset special but I just dont see anyway that happens. The thing with Bixby is they run off tackle a lot and have gotten really good at it. Can Choctaw stop it? The answer is no. I like the Spartans to roll 28-0

Sapulpa (0-5) Vs Norman Tigers (0-5) (Sapulpa) I like Sapulpa to get there first W. They got on the board last week so I assuming that will help the o have some confidence. I also like them to win 21-0

Jenks Maroon (5-0) Vs Sand Springs Gold (0-5) (Jenks Maroon) They roll again after getting there QB back!  I like the Trojans to steam roll and be ready for the stretch they got coming to them. 35-0

AA

South Tulsa (1-4) Vs Hulbert (0-5) (South Tulsa)

Sequoyah (1-4) Vs Checotah (1-4) (Sequoyah)

Broken Arrow Chrome (3-2) Vs Verdigris (4-1) (Broken Arrow Chrome)

Coweta White (2-3) Vs Berryhill (3-2) (Berryhill)

Lincoln Christian (5-0) Vs Collinsville (5-0) ***GOTW *** AA (Lincoln Christian) Ive played both teams. Nothing against the Collinsville team or Cards. But we scrimmaged LC and they were hanging with us and if we played a real game it be a close game. This team is for real and have studs all over the field. That #99 eats people alive on the line. I like they way Lincoln runs there Offense its like the high school and its great to see 4th grade kids running it. There d was holding us just fine when we scrimmaged them and it was tough sledding for us. I like Lincoln 28-0

I Might change things after more film review but thought I would get it out there!!

BAWhite I have much respect for you guys as coaches. I know some of their kids. My son played with them last year on the basketball team. You guys do a great job from my eyes!....Union Red 4th grade Defensive Coordinator.

Lord. Have. Mercy. I need an Aspirin after that.

Sounds like someone needs a pumpkin spice latte. Maybe you two can go get your nails done together so BA White can talk about his feelings getting hurt somewhere else besides the forum. Guess BA White doesn’t recall a few of his boys throwing punches, kicks and getting suspended in the beginning of the season, while he and his coaches stood around and watched the ref pull their player off of the other kid. I’m sure it left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth after watching that happen. That’s just something you’ve got to accept. It doesn’t mean you guys don’t work hard as coaches, or that your players don’t give you everything they have... I’m sure that they do. But the first impression of BA White this season left a bad mark, unfortunately. And so what if a coach doesn’t like the way you run your offense... It’s just an opinion coach... Not fact. And we are all entitled to our opinions. Good luck on the field the rest of the year!

I think it was a compliment that he said you're schemes gave him headaches.....  That's gotta speak for the complexity and ability to plan against them. (That's my glass half full way of looking at it.)

Division 1
Owasso White vs Coweta Black (Owasso White) ***GOTW*** We'll see if Owasso White is legit or not this week.
Claremore vs Bartlesville (Claremore)
Skiatook vs Glenpool (Glenpool)
BA Platinum vs Bixby Red (Bixby Red)

Division 2
Wagoner vs Catoosa (Catoosa)
Hilldale vs Owasso Red (Hilldale)
BA Black vs BA Silver (Broken Arrow Black) I'd expect Black to run pretty vanilla schemes this week as to not put anything new on film. However, their vanilla is still dominant.
Mcalester vs Jenks White (Jenks White)

Division 3
Muskogee vs TYAA Red (TYAA Red)
Pryor vs Bishop Kelly (Bishop Kelly) I know there's a lot of holding at this level, but Pryor's G-C-G do it "better" than most. Not a penalty if nobody throws a flag!
Union Silver vs Sand Springs Black (Union Silver)
Broken Arrow White vs Owasso Black (Owasso Black) I need to make up ground in the pick 'em standings, and I feel like OBlack has the best shot out of all the "underdogs" this week. Both of these teams have a ton of speed on both sides of the ball, and I'm expecting this game to come down to XP's.

Division 4
Edmond vs Norman T-Wolves (Norman)
Stillwater vs Choctaw Blue (Choctaw Blue)
Choctaw Gold v Bixby Blue (Bixby Blue)
Sapulpa vs Norman Tigers (Sapulpa)
Jenks Maroon vs Sand Springs Gold (Jenks Maroon)

AA
South Tulsa vs Hulbert (South Tulsa)
Sequoyah vs Checotah (Sequoyah)
BA Chrome  vs Verdigris (Verdigris)
Coweta White  vs Berryhill (Berryhill)
Lincoln Christian vs Collinsville (Lincoln Christian)

Division 1
Owasso White vs Coweta Black (Coweta Black) Prob a low scoring affair but Coweta Black gives O-White their first black eye this year.
Claremore vs Bartlesville (Claremore)
Skiatook vs Glenpool (Glenpool) Use this game to work out the kinks if any.
BA Platinum vs Bixby Red (Bixby Red) Despite Platinum putting up a good effort against GP last week I see this one running away from them.  I don't know if #25 will be back but it's gotta be getting close for him and if he's back this week watch out.

Division 2
Wagoner vs Catoosa (Catoosa) It'll be close but Catoosa squeaks by.
Hilldale vs Owasso Red (Hilldale)
BA Black vs BA Silver (Broken Arrow Black) I would say this would be a good game to run some new stuff as Silver doesn't look to be a good match.  Show us some stuff besides the wedge.   ;)
Mcalester vs Jenks White (Jenks White) My Jenks White boys better not sleep on McAlester especially since they will be going to their house.  White will pull it off but I see them having more trouble with McAlester than they want.  Feed #22 ALL DAY LONG.  If you get a chance to watch #22 live do it! He can run you over and makes no apologies for it.  He has enough moxy and confidence to fill the whole stadium.  He has good speed but can break your ankles, knees and hips all at once.  Guess I'm saying he's special.

Division 3
Muskogee vs TYAA Red (TYAA Red) Be a goo time to fine tune that locomotive of an offense.
Pryor vs Bishop Kelly (Pryor) BK almost beat U Silver last week!  Came down to the last minute of play, in fact. Im taking Pryor in this one just cause I think they have a solid D and just enough offense.
Union Silver vs Sand Springs Black (Union Silver) I watched part of the Sand Springs BLK/Jenks White game last week and was pretty impressed with their overall play in the 2nd half.  #5 is a great player all around so I'll be interested to see how they do this week against a team that only won by 1 TD in the last minute.
Broken Arrow White vs Owasso Black (BA White) I would not want to try and game plan against BA White.  They have to have the thickest playbook out of all of us fo sho.  They use, what some might say are, unconventional schemes and formations so trying to keep up with defensive assignments has to be a nightmare, hence the undefeated record and significant point differential.  You keep doing you. ;)

Division 4
Edmond vs Norman T-Wolves (Edmond) Just going by the Choctaw Blue results 21-0 vs 0-1.  Bulldogs let one go vs BXBB and have done nothing but demolish teams since then.  TWolves get the first points scored on them this year.  21-6
Stillwater vs Choctaw Blue (Choctaw Blue)
Choctaw Gold v Bixby Blue (Bixby Blue)
Sapulpa vs Norman Tigers (Sapulpa) Sapulpa got their first score last week versus a stout Jenks defense. One might say it was lucky, good play call or possibly a no call block in the back.  ??? Nevertheless #33 has the heart of a lion and will pancake yo butt if you're not careful.  Despite the score Sapulpa plays hard and will get their first W this weekend.
Jenks Maroon vs Sand Springs Gold (Jenks Maroon) This team has more weapons than most teams and that was on display this weekend with 5 different people putting points on the board.  They have scored via, up the middle, off the tackle, in the air, and on special teams.  It doesn't seem to matter, they get points.

AA
South Tulsa vs Hulbert (South Tulsa)
Sequoyah vs Checotah (Sequoyah)
BA Chrome  vs Verdigris (Verdigris)
Coweta White  vs Berryhill (Berryhill)
Lincoln Christian vs Collinsville (Lincoln Christian)

Division 1
Owasso White vs Coweta Black (Coweta Black)
Claremore vs Bartlesville (Claremore) Give #23 the ball ALL DAY LONG!!! Let your playmaker make plays!
Skiatook vs Glenpool (Glenpool)
BA Platinum vs Bixby Red (Bixby Red)

Division 2
Wagoner vs Catoosa (Catoosa)
Hilldale vs Owasso Red (Hilldale)
BA Black vs BA Silver (Broken Arrow Black)
Mcalester vs Jenks White (Jenks White) ***GOTW*** Tough pick here.. But have to stick with the Jenks boys. McAlester has a pretty solid team. I just don't think it will be enough to stop #22... Ole boy has some football DNA!

Division 3
Muskogee vs TYAA Red (TYAA Red)
Pryor vs Bishop Kelly (Pryor) BK let me down last week... I think Pryor could be in the top 15 with a few less mistakes and some more consistent play on both sides of the ball. Close game against a solid TYAA Red team. A few more games under their belts and these guys will def show us that they will be for real next year.
Union Silver vs Sand Springs Black (Union Silver)
Broken Arrow White vs Owasso Black (BA White) BA White has some studs that love playing football. If they could just.... Nevermind, I'm getting a headache.

Division 4
Edmond vs Norman T-Wolves (Edmond) ***GOTW*** I think this will be closer than most picks... Norman knows this will be a HUGE game for them. Almost wish I could watch it live. I know who Grandad's pick is, and he went 23-0 last week.... So I may be changing it up here! Norman's D line better show up to play and Edmond better block #5! If Norman gives #24, #14 & #5 the ball.... Its over for Edmond.
Stillwater vs Choctaw Blue (Choctaw Blue) I might be back to change this one up as well! Stillwater has improved every week in my opinion. If they would use 2 extra blockers instead of having that spread... I think they would have a better record than they do. Those boys are tough! 27 of their 41 points against them were scored in week 1 against Jenks Maroon... Choctaw Blue has a few tough games starting with this one, Jenks Maroon and Bixby Blue to end the season.
Choctaw Gold v Bixby Blue (Bixby Blue)
Sapulpa vs Norman Tigers (Sapulpa)
Jenks Maroon vs Sand Springs Gold (Jenks Maroon)

AA
South Tulsa vs Hulbert (South Tulsa)
Sequoyah vs Checotah (Sequoyah)
BA Chrome  vs Verdigris (Verdigris)
Coweta White  vs Berryhill (Berryhill)
Lincoln Christian vs Collinsville (Lincoln Christian) - In a league of their own against these teams.

Coach12, I might surprise you with my pick for this toss-up game. I’m leaning towards Edmond.... depends on whether I pick with my head or my heart. First, I think you meant #82 instead of #5 at RB/DE for Norman. He’s the “thunder” in our RB’s whereas, the other guys are the “lightening”.  I actually think our QB #1 is our best runner.... when he gets those long legs going, nobody catches him. Secondly, both teams have great defenses and a lot of options on offense. Norman hasn’t allowed a point all season. #82 for Norman is a beast on defense, too. Choctaw Blue was unbeaten and unscored on thru their first 4 games, and all Edmond did last week was score 21 and hold Choctaw to zero first downs.... after I called Edmond a finesse team and said Choctaw was more physical. Think it might have made Edmond mad. They’re hitting on all cylinders now.

I think both teams will score in this game. Last year it was 20-13 Edmond with neither team scoring in the second half. I expect a similar game with a 14-13 final score. I just don’t know who has the 14.
