Bixby Red vs Coweta Black- A #1 seed a year ago, Coweta is on the verge of starting 0-3. The Glenpool loss was a heartbreaker. Dang PAT's! With a loss here, I think they would need to run the table if they want to see the playoffs again this year. #25 is the engine for Big Red. #22 and #45 pave the way. They've won 14 in a row. The only way I see them not making it 15 straight, is if #29 goes for like 275+ and 3 scores. Coweta may keep it interesting for a little while, but in the end BIXBY RED prevails.
Owasso White vs Claremore- O-White comes off an impressive non-division shutout win over U-Black. They'll look to ride the momentum into this tilt, as the Zebras hope to defend their home turf. Both sit at +1 in the D1 standings. With the schedules ahead, this is a very important game for both. Owasso needs this one, but Claremore REALLY needs this one. An O-White win here would make me a believer. My gut says CLAREMORE wins a nailbiter.
BA Plat vs Bartlesville- Bville's first 3 games are against teams that are sitting at 6-0. Doesnt get much tougher than that. They'll be more battle tested as they welcome BA up to the Ville. Platinum is 2-0 and ready to take that next step. A win here sets up a potential playoff eliminator game with Coweta next week. BA PLATINUM
Union Red vs Skiatook- Well U-red let me down last week in a game I thought they could win. This is another one in which I think they can win. Skiatook has the size and speed to match union though. It'll just depend which team shows up. Union came in hot promising a rebuild. These are the games you gotta go get. Especially at home! I think they have to wait another week to get in the win column. SKIATOOK
Glenpool vs Bishop Kelley- Non division game. Little week 3 exhibition to help fine tune things for the long haul. BK has 2 tough losses, while Glenpool has 35 and 1 point wins to start 2-0. Everything points for this to be a heck of a game, but I'm not convinced. I think GLENPOOL wins by 3 scores.
Jenks White vs Tyaa Blue- *GOTW* Hard to believe its just week 3, and this is the ONLY game (out of 23) in the league that pits two undefeateds against each other. Jenks has been turning some heads, but this game will show if they have arrived or not. We've heard about it a couple times already, but the Bluedawgs are on a mission! I personally dont think this will be that close. Jenks just doesnt have the firepower to match that nasty defense of Blue. TYAA BLUE
BA Black vs Union Black- Union was shut out by O-White a week ago. Fortunately for them, it was a non division game. They won't be so lucky this week, as they make the trek to BA to take on my #1. BA is nasty. outscoring opponents 76-6 in the first two. Still waiting on that private message!! I see a 35-0 game in this one. BA BLACK
McAlester vs BA Silver- BA really wants to find that endzone as they've been outscored 48-0 in their two losses. Mac comes in much improved, and is my early pick to get the 3rd playoff spot in D2. They have the talent. Just a matter of staying disciplined for 4 qtrs. Really like their QB, and what he brings to the table. McALESTER runs away with this one.
Hilldale vs Wagoner- Seeing these two at 0-2 is a little surprising given their track records. Should be a hard hitting, battle for sure! I don't think Hilldale gets held out of the endzone 3 weeks in a row, but will their defense be able to get enough stops is the question. I think a back and forth game goes to WAGONER
Owasso Red- BYE
Catoosa vs Pryor- One of the more important games of the weekend in my opinion. The loser of this one will for sure be PST bound come seasons end. Pryor has the better loss (BA), but Catoosa totes the better win (SS). Both had 4+ turnovers in their losses. Pretty cliche but holds true in this one. The team with the least amount of penalties and turnovers will win. Give the edge to the home team. CATOOSA
Tyaa Red vs SS Black- That BK game has everyone scratching their head. 7-0? Hmm.. Once is a fluke, twice starts a trend. Im thinking we will know a lot more after this one. SS turned it around and beat a formidable O-Black team by 2 scores. Til they lose, I'll be rollin with TYAA RED
BA White vs Muskogee- The Gee works hard and will battle, but this will be a snoozer as BA will be too much for the Roughers. Always gotta hope for a clean game!! BA WHITE
Owasso Black vs Union Silver- The BK win looks better after last week, but I thought that SS game was must win for these Rams. Early hype had me thinking they were the best Owasso team. (White has something to say about that) With that said, they better bring it this week as UNION SILVER is looking to be a repeat playoff team again this year. UNION SILVER by 2 scores.
Jenks Maroon vs Norman Tigers- Debate on the fastest kid is no longer. Jenks #5 has world class speed. And he's a good 1-1.5 years younger than most in this grade. Throw in #13 and you have the FASTEST backfield in the grade. Their defense can be scored on but that offense is lethal. Norman has zero chance in this one. JENKS MAROON
Norman Twolves vs SS Gold- SS gets the Twolves at home! That's the only thing they have going for them in this one. Mentioned before about teams being on a mission. Well I think that fits this Norman squad to a tee. They're my #3 team, and may climb with Jenks and Edmond looming. #1 is a stud, and may have the infc's best trio in their backfield. NORMAN TWOLVES
Edmond vs Sapulpa- Sapulpa is another team in hopes of getting on the scoreboard. It won't be this week as they get Edmond coming off a tough loss to big blue. Doesn't bode well for the Chieftains. EDMOND dominates this one and shuts the clock off.
Bixby Blue vs Stillwater- Stilly took their week 1 loss to Jenks out on Norman by shutting the clock off. Gonna be a much stiffer test this week as they make the travel to Bixby. The Spartans are out to prove the shutout of Edmond was no fluke. BIXBY BLUE
Choctaw Blue vs Choctaw Gold- Bragging rights are on the line in this one. These two practice with each other 3x a week, so will be very familiar with one another. Blue has the experience but dont count Gold out. #97 is a hoss and will wreak havoc. If they're able to force 2+ turnovers they can win. Just dk if they can. Prove me wrong Gold! CHOCTAW BLUE
Berryhill vs BA Chrome- Big time matchup in the AA division. Berryhill sits at 2-0 and hasn't given up a score. While BA's lone loss came from the hands of LC. I'll be pulling for Berryhill but I think BA CHROME wins this one.
Lincoln Christian vs South Tulsa- S Tulsa better might try nabbing a few from their 5th grade team.. They cant be much bigger than this LC group. Straight loaded with talent. Will be over shortly after kickoff. LINCOLN CHRISTIAN
Collinsville vs Checotah- Birds fly together! COLLINSVILLE
Verdigris vs Coweta White- Been going back and forth on this one. Verdigris sports the better defense while Coweta's offense has the edge. There was a Roller sighting in Verdy last weekend. Nice running into ya coach. I could see this going either way but gonna go with COWETA WHITE
Sequoyah vs Hulbert- These two come in winless, and scoreless. One of these two will get in that winners column, and I think both find the endzone as well. Coinflip goes to SEQUOYAH
Good luck to everyone this weekend!
