OKC 1 & 2
Yukon Red @ Choctaw Blue (Yukon Red)
Bethany @ Choctaw Gold (Betany)
Yukon White @ Piedmont Gold (Piedmont Gold)
Piedmont Blue @ Edmond White (Piedmont Blue)
Choctaw White @ Edmond Maroon (Choctaw White)
Norman @ Moore (Norman)
D1 TUL
Jenks Maroon @ BA White (BA White) BA White is coming off of a really good win over a good Glenpool team and now all they have to do is beat everyone not named Tyaa Blue & Bixby Blue to assure themselves of no lower than the #3 spot in D1. Maybe they run the table and take the #1 spot... Who knows? Jenks Maroon is a solid team and will give most a good look.
Bixby Blue @ BA Chrome (Bixby Blue) Coming off of their toughest game since the Championship game last year Bixby Blue proved once again that they are the cream of the crop. This week they get to breathe a little easier, but being everyone's Super Bowl is no easy task.
Glenpool @ South Tulsa (Glenpool) Drill unsure if South Tulsa has a 4th grade team or not. Glenpool now has a steep hill to climb after dropping their game last week to BA White. They still control their own destiny if they can win out, but obviously they have to get through 2 of the best in the grade to do that. Chaney loves a challenge so
Stillwater @ McAlester (McAlester) Last week McAlester stepped up and blanked a pretty decent Owasso Red team. They seem to be pretty solid. If the Stillwater RB has a game he could keep them in it.
Tyaa Blue @ Owasso Red (Tyaa Blue) Tyaa Blue proved last week that they belong in the conversation among the leagues best. If they can get that offense rolling they will give anyone nightmares even more so than they already do.
D2 TUL
BA Silver @ BA Gold (BA Gold) Battle of the BA's
Collinsville @ Owasso Black (Owasso Black) We hear ya coach. This should be a good game to measure where you are after playing the 2 toughest team in the Division back to back. Collinsville is a scrappy bunch, but they aren't yet on the level of BA Gold or Bixby Red
Bixby Red @ Jenks Silver (Bixby Red) This is a low key an interesting match up. Jenks Silver is a side team and I am unsure of what happend in Big Red's game a week ago, but it doesn't get any easier this week.
SS Gold @ Claremore (Claremore) Watch out for this Claremore team when the big matchups come. They may just surprise a couple of teams.
Bartlesville Blue @ Skiatook (Bartlesville Blue) This Bartlesville Blue team just keeps winning. They have a huge match-up next week against the Claremore team above. IMO that is an eliminator for the #3 spot in the Division.
D3 TUL
Union Silver @ Bartlesville White (Bartlesville White) This Bartlesville team looks as tho they are really coming on. There is really no week's of in this Division. Union Silver is a solid team and I look for Coach Small's and co to get these boys ready to fight every week. This Division just has a Murderer's Row.
SS Black @ BA Black (SS Black) In D2 SS Black has a legitimate shot to end up #1 or #2. In D1 they have a fighting chance at #3. In D3 they are just another team that makes this Division the toughest in our grade hands down. They are a pretty solid group.
Tyaa Red @ Coweta Black (Tyaa Red) I foot for the game below them this game would get one of my nods for GOTW. I have been high on this Coweta Black team and turns out I was just a year early. With that being said I am not sure they are ready for a team the likes of Tyaa Red, but this is a great measuring stick to see where they stand. You could copy and paste exactly what I said about SS about this Coweta team. This Tyaa Red team is just a notch or 2 above most.
Ft Gibson @ LC **GOTW 1** (Ft Gibson) Anyone who does their homework in this grade knows that LC has great coaches and Ft Gibson has one of the most dynamic players in the grade. What often gets overlooked is that Ft Gibson also has great coaching and Coach Forrest has been around a long time. I believe this is his 3rd time thru. If you think that doesn't matter check again. LC had a great showing against a great Tyaa team a week ago and they proved that they can play with anyone. Ft Gibson has just been doing what Ft Gibson does and that is win and win by a lot. These 2 teams met last year in the playoffs in what was a great match-up. I heard the LC HC was unable to attend that one. Not having your HC there is worth a few pts give or take so it should make a difference this go round. Ft Gibson however has added to their roster and I still think #6 will be the best player on the field. If he has a big game game Ft Gibson pulls this one out. You don't blank a team like SS Black with only 1 guy. This one is going to be a treat for fans and a nightmare for coaches lol. Good luck guys.
Muskogee vs BYE (Muskogee) This week will do Muskogee good to re-adjust.
AA 1 & 2
Sapulpa @ Catoosa (Sapulpa) Sapulpa is just too much for this scrappy Catoosa team.
Hilldale @ Holland Hall **GOTW AA 1** (Hilldale) Always roll with my boys. We got both our hands full and then some this week. This one has a ton of Playoff implications at stake. I am just hoping I can trade that early sleep for the ability to sleep in on Sunday.. Lord knows that this time of year I don't get enough. This HH team is LEGIT and we just want to give them a good game.
Berryhill @ Bishop Kelley (Non Division) (Berryhill) BK will fight, but Berryhill seems to have finally found their stride. Berryhill is by no means out of anything as the #1 spot in AA2 could still be their's. Should be a good look for both teams.
Rejoice Christian @ Metro Christian (Non Division) (Rejoice Christian) This game intrigues me on a bunch of levels. I expect this Metro team to end up in that #4 spot in AA1. A win here over a tough Rejoice team would turn some heads.
Union Red @ Coweta White (Coweta White) After a tough 1st 2 weeks this is a great match-up for both teams. I expect Coweta White and #24 to be hard to stop.
Bixby White @ Verdigris **AA GOTW 2** (Bixby White) Man, this is going to be a good one! I think Bixby White has got to be 1 of the favorites to win AA. A strong week 1 showing against the overall favorites in Sapulpa. This Bixby team has a veteran coach in Coach Wade who really knows how to get the best out of his teams and was a part of the last 2 Bixby Blue teams where they won 2 Championships with him calling the defense. On the other side this Verdigris team has a great guy and great coach themselves in Coach Evans. This Verdi team is fast and aggressive on both sides of the ball. Both teams offenses will put most opposing defenses on their heels and this one will be no different. Much like Hilldale/HH this game has huge Playoff implications at stake. A loss here virtually assures Bixby is no higher than #3 while a loss for Verdi most likely nets them there unless they can pull out a W against Sapulpa in another huge game next weekend. High stakes for sure and I wish I could watch live.
As ways this is EPO and all in FUN lol. I cannot stress the FUN part enough. These are opinions and the games still have to be won and lost on the field of play. Best of luck to everyone. Go Hornets!
