Stacked teams
« on: October 07, 2019, 09:35:28 pm »
Bixby White is really good...
Bixby Blue is 3-3 AA

Bartlesville Blue is really good...
Bartlesville White is 0-5 AA

Wagoner Black is really good...
Wagoner Red is 0-5

As for our team we get everyone that signs up and hope to have enough players, and then roll with it and do the best we can...I love seeing some of these coaches talking a mean game...yes you have athletes and we are all impressed. But numbers don't lie and if I got to handpick my team we'd probably be pretty good too...Please don't take offense to this because I respect all of you guys but just wanted to get this out there and see what everyone else is thinking.
I see Owasso, Jenks, Union, looking pretty even for the most part.
Don't get mad, let me know what you are thinking...whatcha got?
And I might be wrong on the standings but the website is terrible this year.

Here’s my opinion on stacked teams. Yes I do think there are a few teams in our grade who have stacked their teams. But here’s the upside to that. The kids that would only get the minimum amount of plays on the “A” team now get full reps on the “B” team and that helps that player grow and develop. Now I bet it sucks for a kid who was once on the “A” team and now they get told they are going to the other team and those boys know what’s going on and they know why they aren’t on the “A” team or In this case, the undefeated team. I see pros and cons but I do think the pros out weigh the cons for sure. Although it does suck for smaller schools who don’t have as much to pick from as these big schools to help stack a team. But at the end of the day, it’s about developing these boys and getting the most out of them everyday and it’s hard to get everything out of everyone if they are sitting on the sidelines during the game.

Just my 2 cents. Doesn’t mean I’m right though, just my opinion.

You just stated what everyone is thinking but never said it. I agree 💯 with you. And as far as everyone else being even you’re right on that too. The smaller schools get what they get and the big schools get a whole bunch of kids.  If they stacked like the rest theses guys they would kill it.  I know for a fact Owasso and BAs  club does not allow it. And the smaller schools just get what they get.

I don’t usually get into arguments with people I don’t know so I’m not about to start tonight. I will however provide some truth to your statements as I am the head coach of the Bartlesville Blue team.

1. There are several players who I would love to have on my team from the Bartlesville white team but I elected to draft some of the same players I had last year over the newer (much larger) kids because they were my kids and they played for me even when they were only getting 15 plays a game.
2. We had 22 player roster last year and played in the Championship game only to lose 6-12
3. If I were to have stacked my team we wouldn’t have 12 play kids yet we still fight that same battle of making sure those players get their 12 plays.
4. Because of drafting/ personnel issues one of my best players from last year is no longer playing football for us. Thanks INFC for your crap rules!
5. We play against teams with up to 5 kids who have been held back to play football and that means our youngest being an 8 year old was potentially matched up with an 11 year old earlier in the season.
6. We have zero two stripers and play teams with several kids who are weighing in their underwear to make weight to even play football in this grade.
7. I would also like to point out that we were a two win team in 1st grade. So yes, we have come a long way and worked really hard to get to where we are today. The other team will take time to gel, players and coaches will learn what works best for them and they will get better also.

This is Bartlesville’s situation and I cannot speak to the other teams mentioned.

If you have more questions for me here is my mobile # 918-440-8343

Thanks,
Coach Lackey

RP ...... I can tell you Wagoner BLack is not stacked, We got our 4 secure player ( coaches kids) and the rest were hand selected one by one in the INFC office.

I'm sure there is some stacking that goes on and even we have been accused of it in Stillwater and its not true. We don't even have enough kids to break into two teams, if you sign up you play. We have 24 on our roster including one that's been injured all season. We lost 5 really good football players from last year due to a couple moving away and a few others not playing this season. We have about 8 new kids this season that never played football before until this season. ( Most of our team has been together since 1st grade)

I don't mind anyone making a stacked team, i actually prefer it. We want to play everyone's best and see how we match up and if we lose you wont see us telling our kids it was because they were stacked or it was because the referees. We don't teach victim mentality or that it was even a loss. Its a learning opportunity and we need to work harder, no excuses! So if anyone stacked a team we appreciate you guys putting the other team in the AA league its whats best for those kids that haven't developed as fast as some of the others ( i know there is some awesome teams in the AA as well, i mean no disrespect). All i'm saying we have seen some tough competition this year already and i'm thankful for it. I know bixby white and bevill blue head coaches and both are awesome guys that i really believe wouldn't ever cheat to win. From what i see they are both awesome at building tough and competitive football players the kind we all love to have.

We love playing in the INFC, its one of the best around and that's really because of you guys around the state that are involved in it. We are Looking forward to seeing bixby in stillwater in a few weeks, we know ronnie will have them prepared to play hard.

Lol, just stirring the pot...it's been pretty boring in here this year. I never thought I'd say this, but I almost miss Coweta's posts. Where's he been this year?

I didnt reply last year because i didnt want to be part of the drama but enough is enough with some of the ignorance. First off my name is Mike LeFrere im the defensive coach for Bixby White and my son is #8. I think people should post being themselves and say which team they are with. Last year we had a coach get on the forum and hide behind a fake account. He posted ages of boys of our team. By the way we know who you are and you should thank us because we didnt pursue this issue. You broke a federal law last year called the Child Privacy Act. You and your towns club were both liable for posting a minors private information on the internet.  We had another person harass Coweta 35s dad non stop. Im sure there are more cases of this type of behavior. Honestly its pretty embarrassing and sad behavior for grown men. If you want to post something try to not hide behind your keyboard. I would like to address two issues being brought up last year and in this post about my team Bixby White.

1. First Bixby White is 100% a STACKED team. We probably have 7 or 8 of the top 10 players in our grade in Bixby on our team. So it is true we are STACKED. You know what is also true our head coach did it 100% by the rules. He protected the top 4 players in our grade last year and then he protected the 2 best new players this year. PLus he has gotten very lucky in the draft. Two of our big new linemen who start on the lines were drafted at the end this years draft or were hat picks. Nobody knew who these kids were they were move ins from out of state.  Its really helps having a head coach who is not only a great coach but one of the most likable people on the planet. Everyone wants to play for him. So instead of whining about teams being STACKED why dont people give credit to our head coach Ronnie Hopkins who has build this team fairly through hard work and character. As long as Ronnie is head coach Bixby White will remain a STACKED team because kids and parents want to play for him. Thats a sign of a great youth coach. Also I hate that they posted Bixby Blues record up there because its not giving them credit for how much they have grown. This years Bixby Blue teams is nothing like last year. They are a tough talented well coached team. Yes their record is 3-3 but they lost their star runningback to injury and have been competitive in all their games. I bet they move up to A next year and make some noise those boys can play and their coaches can coach.

2. Second the issue with held back players. Bixby White has 4 maybe 5 held back kids on ours team and yes that is an advantage in football for those 4 or 5 players. By the way most the teams in the league have multiple holdbacks on them even the hypocritical coaches complaining have significant players who are held back.  I can tell you this the other 13 kids or so arent held back and half our starting offensive and defensive lineups dont turn 10 till after the New Year. So many of the great players on our team are extremely young. So dont take credit from those kids. As far as people making comments these kids were held back for football it is ignorant and pathetic. My son #8 is held back in school. My wife and I didnt hold him back the school did because his learning and speech disorders. School is a struggle for him but he is doing his best and is a great kid. We care so much about football we are moving from the best run football program in the state imo to Verdigris to get him in a smaller school district with smaller classes for academics.

Here is the thing yes we are stacked and yes we have held backs but who cares if your teaching your sons and players whats important. Winning a 4th grade football team means nothing. Winning a 4th grade INFC championship means nothing. Teaching your sons and players to compete and not to make excuses even though the worlds unfair is a much bigger trophy. Guess what the worlds unfair and you better teach your children to get through it and not make excuses. My sons main sport used to be soccer. He competed constantly against boys 2 years older because his team was so good. I never cared because to me its about the end game not winning a soccer game when he is 9 years old. I want him to learn to compete and become the best athlete and individual he can become. Anyways sorry for the extremely long rant.

08GAGE GREAT RESPONSE!!!RONNIE IS A GREAT PERSON AND A EVEN BETTER COACH. MY STAGE NAME BY THE WAY IS MY REAL NAME AND I AGREE WITH THE KEYBOARD WARRIOR REPRESENTATION IS A JOKE. …..MORE THAN ANYTHING IT IS AN HONOR TO BE MENTIONED IN A FOOTBALL FORUM WITH BIXBY AND STILLWATER. BEEN A LONG TIME FOR THAT TO HAPPEN IN BARTLESVILLE. JUST LIKE MOST TOWNS THAT DON'T HAVE A GREAT TRADITION OF BEING A POWERHOUSE IN ANY SPORT THERE ARE A GROUP THAT COMES ALONG EVERY SO OFTEN THAT IS "STACKED" AND PEOPLE HAVE A HARD TIME BELIEVING THAT THAT TOWN CAN REPREST THAT WELL WITHOUT CHEATING AND TO ME THAT IS A COMPLIMENT BECAUSE IF YOU KNEW THE INTEGRITY OF BARTLESVILLE BLUE HEAD COACH YOU WOULD KNOW THAT HE IS ABOVE BOARD AND THE PATTERN OF THIS GROUP OF KIDS HAS BEEN TRENDING UPWARD SINCE 2ND GRADE. THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS OF BEING STACKED OUR KIDS WORK HARD!!!

Teams do get stacked, I have seen it numerous times and I have had coach's tell me that they have stacked a team and how they have stacked their team. If the other coach's allow it then that's on them. The only issue is when the Club actually gets involved and requires the stacking of one team.

I for one don't condone it, but I don't care if we play a stacked team. Let's line up and play.

There are more than one way to stack a team. The question is rather it was done by Manipulating the rules. If it was done fairly then why wouldn't you? You going to turn done the 4 best kids one year then the next year 2 new kids come and want to play on your team and they're studs, you going to turn them down too? What about if the other coach's mess up during draft and didn't do their homework or put too much praise into one player over another? You going to take advantage of that?

I got bent over in my draft this year because I was being too nice, but I still ended up getting a great group of boys that I have coached up and we're playing great football. As far as the other coach goes, we laugh about it now. Not a big deal, I enjoy coaching the boys up and preparing them to come together with the other team. By the way the other team is 1-5 now, yes at the time they got the better team. We have lost to the #1 (TYAA Blue) and #2 (Skiatook) in a very close game and Tied TYAA Red. Won the other 3 games convincingly. It's all about coaching the boys up and finding them a reason to be out there, not a reason not to be.

Stacking a team is allowed in this league, but that doesn't mean rules were broken.

Big schools like BA, Jenks, Union, Bixby, and Owasso usually can't stack teams because they have numerous teams where there are many coach's involved in the draft.

TY you guys have a great team and I love what you do with that offense. You have a special group on your team. It’s going to be fun following what they do for Bartlesville now and through high school.

HARD WORK EVENTUALLY PAYS OFF IN THE LONG RUN AND THAT IS WHAT WE ARE WORKING FOR IN OUR TOWN IS TO CHANGE THE CULTURE AND DO WHAT IS BEST FOR THE LONG HAUL!

I think that gets overlooked a lot.  A stacked team is really meaningless without great coaching.  Ronnie puts in an insane amount of time in for our team.  Mike is one of the most knowledgeable football minds I’ve ever met. I credit both for developing my son into a football player.  It’s no coincidence that Stillwater and Bartlesville have the best teams in the grade - they have the best coaches.

RP and Company... To set the record straight.  Wagoner Black is the same team as last year.  We had 30+ kids come out for football this year and had to create 2 teams.  All the kids playing on this team with exception of 3 first year kids are from last years team.
