Player You Have Been Most Impressed By
« on: October 16, 2019, 03:30:58 pm »
Hello all,
Chad, Edmond Assistant Coach,

Being new to the Oklahoma Youth Football Scene (Army guy, moved in from NY), this is my first experience with a league forum.  I suspected there would be quite a bit of "bad" associated with this ability to have instant availability to other teams, administrators and parents ... especially, immediately following a tense game.  There is a bunch of bad but there has also been a lot of good coming from supportive coaches and parents.  I am growing to like this forum.

A question I would like to throw out there would be:  What player(s) have you been most impressed by this year?  Most physically talented is the easiest thing to point out but does not have to be to be mentioned here, as some of these kids are two years older than others and should obviously be more talented, but maybe someone who impressed you from an improvement from last year or an outstanding instance of sportsmanship.

I have not seen very many teams so my sample size is smaller than most but for conversation's sake; from my view the following players have stood out to me:

Stillwater's #44 is a tough player, Defensively, his ball skills are better than average and he played with some grit to him

Our #50 is is right up there with anyone I have seen so far, very disruptive and hard-nosed and just a great character kid

Union Silver's #10 jumped out to me on film, we have not played them but he seemed to run fast and did not go down very easily, on tape

Yukon's #7 looks good on tape, he seems like someone which can take it to the house on any play if given some space

Piedmont's #1 was a good player, my kid (#11) told me he was a good player and "was a good leader for his team"  :)

Claremore's #10 was good, I thought we contained him pretty well, but I have seen other games where he was difficult to deal with

Owasso Black had a DE (I think #44) he dominated our LOS, he was a handful for us ... he was strong and played with pretty good leverage

Those are the players which have stood out to me ... what are your thoughts?

"You can affect other people with your body language and energy level."

Claremore #7 is a beast and there is no 1 man stopping him true stud and #10 is very fast...

Broken Arrow Orange #20 is long and fast and that kid has a cannon on him #21 is 1 of the fastest kids I’ve seen all year I have never seen nobody line up in front of my son and beat him 1 on 1 and catch the ball....

Union Silver That Qb is nice 4got his number but he is solid and that RB #21 is very shifty

I went off of the teams we played and the impact they made on our team....

I’m ready for this game this weekend I need 2 see wat this Bixby White hype about!!!!

Over in the AA world the player Ive seen on film that is most impressive when he makes weight is Glenpool's #5 kid has a great gait when he runs and doesnt go down easy if anyone can touch him. Big and fast

#5 from glenpool , 84 from sequoyah is a great lb is in on almost every tackle and 10 from sequoyah is undersized but can run the ball and will tackle anyone has no fear. Also the rb from Bixby blue is a tank tough to bring down. AA has some good players that are overlooked

I am definitely partial, but 77 for Union Silver has had a great year. QB # 1 for Union Silver has also had a great year. The linebacker for Owasso Red with Yellow cleats was very good as well. There were also several players for Bixby White that were very good (can’t remember numbers). Claremore also had a couple really good players. Can’t remember their numbers either.

#72, #13, and #4 are probably the best/most important players on one of the most dangerous offenses being Bartlesville. They haven’t got love on here yet so I’ll give it to them.

This is only from the teams that we have played so far:

#24 for Tyaa Blue is legit and will make you pay if you let him outside.  We found this out the hard way.

#8 for Bixby White is a beast.  Better not try his side of the field...Several other players are top notch

#7 for Owasso Red went for two long TDs on our D and is a threat to take it to the house at any time.

#1, #15, #21 and #5 from Union Silver are ballers.  And big #77 has to be the best D-lineman in the league with no offense to other kids but how he uses his hands is next level.  And to think he's only a third grader....

#7, 10 and 4 for Claremore are all very good players

And up next for us, BA Orange.....#20 and 21 are terrifying on film.  We have our hands full for sure.

Bixby White- #8,#20, #44,#34,#21 are all studs along with multiple others on that team. I also want to say how much the coaching staff impressed me. You can tell by the way those kids play the coaches know how to coach but the most impressing is how they speak to and treat their players. You guys are a class act and it was a blast to have you guys in stillwater.

I've also seen this class act type of coaching from union silver coaches as well and appreciate you guys being the kind of coaches that some of us younger coaches like myself can use to model from.

Thank you,
Jojo Noles

Thanks JoJo the same can be said about your staff. I was so impressed by the composure of your coaches and players when we went up early. You guys just rolled up your sleeves and went to work. The better team clearly won that game and their is a reason you guys have never lost. As a dad you had to be so proud of your boy 99 he destroyed our running game. Me personally I walked away from that game even with more respect for your team. Your coaches are great and had a fantastic game plan for us. 44 is the best kid in the league. 99 and 22 are two of the top linemen in the league. 8 has to be one of the most underrated kids in the league nobody talks about. Also ton of respect for 3 and 4 my son went full waterboy out there and they were such tough blockers. Great game and best of luck.

1,8,10, and 55 are all really good. You also have quite a few other impressive players. #10 is one of fastest kids I’ve seen this year!
Really smart group of kids to be able to pull so well and mix up the snap count like you guys do.

Number 10 for Union Red is an absolute beast. He had some impressive runs against us in the PST semifinals. Definite shout out to him, he was more than a handful.

I didn’t want to chime in until Bartlesville won the championship today, which we did. Michael Kent #14  and the QB for Bville is in a league of his own. I appreciate all the love and support for others but I was able to show him the thread before the playoffs began and not that he needed additional motivation, but he got it. Out of all the kids mentioned... he hoisted the Crystal Ball and put up Nintendo type numbers. It takes 10 other players but this kid is special.
