Opinion Based Divisional Rankings
« on: October 01, 2020, 11:38:06 am »
My personal, opinionated, divisional rankings. Probably wrong on lots of stuff, just keeping it interesting. I may have some of the scores and records wrong, but I think I’m pretty close. To all the 0-4 or 1-3 coaches, just keep grinding and best of underdog luck as always.

Finally ready to try and make some sense of D1. Here’s my best shot at it so far.
D1
Stillwater   3-0. – Still comfortably on top of D1.
Piedmont   3-0. – Putting up decent wins, most notably against Choctaw Gold so far.
Newcastle   3-1. – Played the closest game with Stillwater yet in a 6-0 loss.
Choctaw Gold   2-1. * Missing week 2 outcome.
Westmoore   2-2. – Still a contender.
Edmond   2-2. – Same.
Norman   0-3.
Choctaw Blue   0-3.
Yukon                  0-3. * Missing week 2 outcome.

Jenks Maroon just made D2 a lot more interesting with their first win of the season after 3 close(ish) losses to some high level teams. Going to be interesting to see what shapes up between TYAA, YellowJackets, and Maroon. Read below if you’re interested why I think they’re a 1-3 playoff team.
D2
Glenpool   4-0. – No comments really necessary.
TYAA                  3-1.  – See below* they beat Owasso Red 12-0. Jenks Maroon just beat O-Red 30-0. The Bulldogs still have to face the league champs and the yellow jackets.
Yellow Jackets   3-1. – Yellow Jackets lost to Glenpool 26-6. Jenks Maroon Lost to Glenpool 38-12. Fairly comparable in my book. Should be a good game between the 2 coming up in a couple weeks.
Jenks Maroon   1-3. – *I can’t, won’t rank these guys above TYAA and the Yellow Jackets today….but I’m very tempted to. With the win against O-Red these guys are almost in charge of their own destiny as far as getting into the playoffs. TYAA next and then the Yellow Jackets. (Looking back at their scores I believe they might still be the 2nd best team in D2.) They’ve got a chance at the very least. (They also barely beat the yellow jackets, formerly known as the ST defenders, in a close 6-0 game last year. But TYAA White was a 35-0 win last year.) If nothing else, I guess I’m just adding to the chatter and trying to make D2 a little more exciting, and just pointing out Jenks Maroon isn’t done for yet.
Owasso Red   0-4. – Was surprised a little with the score in their loss to J-maroon. Still a pretty good team I think but their schedule has been brutal having already played Claremore, BA White, TYAA, Jenks Maroon. Yellowjackets next.
Union Silver   2-2. – At 2-2 U Silver has to be feeling pretty decent, but unfortunately their remaining schedule may not see another win. It’s possible, but the road gets tougher. Still a pretty good start and anybody’s got a chance in 4th grade. They could easily be better than an 0-4 Owasso-Red, but only time will tell.
Coweta                 0-4. – great words of encouragement from TYAA, gotta be a sign of solid coaching and kids with heart.
BA Silver   0-4.

And just like that, Bixby White that started 0-2, is back in control of their own outcome.
D3
Collinsville   4-0. – Still on top of D3, and I’m sure will stay there, but I’m thinking they had to have noticed that Bixby White/U-Black Score. Next up, BA Gold. C’ville is still the only clear cut solid playoff lock for D3 in my opinion. Everything else is wide open for the next 4.
Jenks Silver   4-0. – Dangerous team for sure, but still haven’t faced C’ville, Bixby W, or U-Black. Playoffs are not a lock for these guys yet. Have still had a comparatively easy schedule, but I will say, the 38-6 win against BA gold is noteworthy.
Bixby White   2-2. – Just saying, nice comeback into the rankings for Bixby White. Might be able to still afford to lose last game of regular season to C’ville if they win out the rest. Wouldn’t be shocked if they did.
Union Black   2-2. – Have to beat BA Gold and Jenks Silver to get in.
BA Gold                 2-2. – Still have to face C’ville, Bixby W, and U-Black – If I’m betting on it, I say they lose at least 2 of those games. Could be wrong. If they only lose to C Ville they very well may still make it in as the #3. They beat Bixby white 7-0 last year, but they also beat Jenks silver 30-19 last year and that didn’t play out the same at all in week 3.
Sand Springs   1-3.
Catoosa    1-3.
Mcalester   1-3.

D4
Skiatook   4-0. – Claremore and Grove will have a shot, but Just like C’ville, they own the top spot and are a lock for the playoffs at this point based on dominant play so far.
BA White   3-1. – Somewhat similar here. Claremore and Muskogee are strong teams but they probably have the 2nd spot locked up after their win against Grove. Could still get interesting.
Grove                 3-1. – There will still be surprising outcomes in this division, and Grove won’t quit, but they will still have to face Skiatook, Muskogee and bixby blue. They probably finish 7-2 as the 3rd seed.
Claremore   3-1. – Skiatook, Muskogee and BA white still ahead. They have a shot at it for sure. Just going to be tough.
Muskogee   2-2. – tough non-divisional opener for the roughers facing Collinsville early, and after losing to Skiatook this weekend, the next match against BA White should feel crucial for them, knowing they still have to play Claremore and Grove.
Bixby Blue   3-1. – This is a good team to be sure, and I’m pretty sure they really did well in the PST last year, but I’m not sure they win another game this season unfortunately. Hope I’m wrong, but possibly the toughest remaining 5 games schedule in the league. They are good enough to possibly finish as the #4 if they play mistake free football.
BA Black   0-4.
Owasso Silver   0-4.

Quick look at AA (I've said it before, but I agree with Rich. These guys are all in AA, and that's totally cool, but ranking them with the rest of the A teams seems pointless. Could Verdigris play in D2,3,or 4? Sure, but they aren't.)
AA
Verdigris   4-0. There’s only 2 things I feel really confident saying, and that’s that 1. Verd and LC are the 2 best teams here, (in that order).
Lincoln Christia   4-0.
Sequoyah   3-1. And 2., would be to say that Sequoyah is probably the 3rd best.
Patriots      2-2.  All the rest still have plenty of time to mix it up and move around. Good luck to all.
Comets      2-2.
Hilldale      2-2.
Berryhill   2-2.
Sapulpa      1-3.
Bartlesville   1-2.
Fort Gibson   0-3.

Just putting this out there for AA.. Verdy and LC are by far the 2 best in our little division, they both are solid squads. Sequoyah looks to keep a firm grip on 3rd, after that it is a crap shoot... alot of good AA ball to come and we all will see how it works out..
1. Verdigris (4-0)
2. Lincoln Christian (4-0)
3. Sequoyah (3-1)
4. Bartlesville (2-2)
5. Berryhill (2-2)
6. Metro (2-2)
7. Hilldale (2-2)
8. Comets (1-3)
9. Sapulpa (0-4)
10. Ft. Gibson (0-4)

So how many teams in each division make the playoffs?

Yeah, I was going off the assumption that only 3 made it from each division, but wasn't sure if it changed with AA splitting off.
