Impact (Preseason) Top 10
« on: August 06, 2016, 09:22:17 am »
1. Tyaa White- After coming up alittle short last year, Tyaa White has re-loaded their roaster. They have gotten bigger and faster by adding a few top tier players. The coaching staff has also improved with the addition of the coach with longest active winning streak  (3 seasons). This solidifies Tyaa White and gets them the #1 spot.
2. Bixby Blue- Consistency gets Bixby Blue the #2 spot. However, this is a make or break year for this team. If this team doesn't make the finals this year, I think it's safe to start thinking this team has reached it's ceiling.
3. Grove- What can you say about the Ridge Runners. they play football the right way, Hard. This is a team exemplified. Look for Grove to be a serious title contender.  They might just go into the playoffs with the #1 ranking, it can happen.
4. Sequoyah- The first controversial ranking is last seasons PST Champion. Sequoyah  looked good against the INFC Champion TYAA Blue in the Sooner Classic. In fact the Eagles controlled long stretches of the game. Considering these facts the Eagles are deserving of the #4 ranking.
5. Bixby Red-After a disappointing year, (accordance to Bixby Red standards) the Spartans look to get back to the Championship Game. The game with the Tyaa White team should be for a #1 seed in the playoffs. Can the Spartans beat the preseason #1 and legendary coach, they don't call them "Big Game Red" for nothing.
6. Jenks White- The Trojans gave a sneak peak of their potential last year. If they are able to build on that and a few balls bounce their way this could be the 2016 dark horse.
7. Union Black- Now this is a strong team. Affectionately know as the "The Legion of Boom" they get after you. With the addition of some offensive fire power nobody wants to play L.O.B in a one and done situation.
8. Tyaa Blue- 2015 was a great season for the Blue Dogs. INFC and Sooner Classic Champions. But as Bixby Red and Bartlesville Blue found out after you win a championship, you can't protect them all. Losing 4 skill position players will hurt Tyaa Blue. How bad, we don't know yet but if you look at the two previous winners, neither made it out of the quarter finals the following year.
9. B.A Black- How will the Tigers follow up last seasons greatness. The biggest question is how will the Tigers replace their QB. There was always talk about not being a 1 man team. this discussion will be shown and proved on the field as it should be. Don't count  the Tigers out just yet. Their division is up for grabs. their is no clear cut favorite in Div.1
10. Stillwater- This could be a breakout year. After a full season of INFC football I think some things have been worked out not only in systematic familiarity but also in game preparation. The coming Western Conference of the INFC will be showing this year that they can play with the East and Stillwater will be in the fore-front.

Without watching any teams, I do know one thing.  To be the best, you have to beat the best.  He are the preseason odds to win it all
TYAA Blue - 2/1
TYAA White - 2/1
Bixby Blue - 3/1
Grove - 4/1
Jenks White 6/1
Bixby Red 6/1
B'Ville Blue 8/1
Union Black 8/1
BA Black 10/1
Sequoyah 12/1
Union Silver 12/1
Wagoner 13/1
Owasso Red 13/1
Muskogee 15/1
Jenks Silver 15/1
Field 20/1

Good Luck to all this year.

@youth sports okla

Interesting pick @#10 spot.
I read this forum all last season and for the most part found it very entertaining and generally spot on with everyone's analysis of the teams; maybe I'm just being a homer maybe you know something I don't we will see as the season unfolds

Interesting to me because based on last years teams I did not expect to see any of the west side schools on a top 10 list.

Maybe someone can explain how does a team that didn't win a single game last year end up in the top ten..

He said he thinks they got some things worked out! There should be a better explaination like "they got this or that player and this coach" But to say they got things worked out can work for every team in 4th grade!

If he's just trying to add a team from the west I would go Norman or a Del City. I agree with the poster above Stillwater hasn't shown anything from last year to make a top ten this year. I know it's a new year but please explain more then I think they got the kinks worked out

@pumpurbreaks

Norman or del city? Same as putting Stillwater @#10
Norman didn't have a 3rd grade team last year and del city wasn't in the conference.

There was only 2 3rd grade teams from the west last year Stillwater and Edmond.
So you have one team that went 0-9 and one team that went 4-5 and gave a couple you bigger programs a scare. Now don't get me wrong I'm NOT saying Edmond should have been on his top 10 list. I'm saying if you gonna throw a bone to a west side program and claim that team "is in the fore-front of the coming west conference " maybe you should throw the bone to the team that performed better then the other one. Don't get me wrong I want all the west side school to step up there games because to be the best you have to compete and beat the best. And I truly feel INFC has the best programs.

I would have to agree bulldog I know nothing about Norman or Del City. Then it comes down to NO team from the west deserves a spot in the top 10 let alone the top 15 until they prove themselves worthy.

Knowing the guys that do this poll, actually working with them last year until I got fired, lol. I do believe that the number 10 pick is not a legitimate pick but more of an indictment to the other teams that have under achieved. Another reason Stillwater could be in the polls is just throwing a bone out there for the West. Why not Norman who had the better record,  I personally think Stillwater has the grader upside. That offense can be dangerous. Maybe in their second year a few things will come together. If you look at Div. 4. I would say BXB Bue, Jenks White, then Stillwater could sneak in if the commentary turns out to be accurate.

There are more deserving teams like Wagoner, HIT squad, U-silver, Owasso teams, Catoosa and a few others.  Hopefully these teams will use this as some motivation and get after it. whatever the reasons, I'm glad it got you guys to talking football

Shoot I'm enjoying the read.... Atleast y'all talking! My question is how does the champs lose 4 key players and the other gain key athletes?

Just something to talk about😂

@raider
Good point! Maybe he did throw that up there just to gut check the other teams; I hadn't looked at from that angle.

Either way I'm fired up about some football and ready to hear them pads cracking on the field.
