Division Standings
« on: October 07, 2018, 09:42:40 pm »
Holy smokes week 7 is already upon us and the playoff picture is becoming more clear. First place in D1 and D3 up for grabs this week.

D1
The top 3 are set, with only positioning left to be determined. Losing in OT by yardage is what ultimately knocked Coweta out. Both Glenpool and Owasso White remain unbeaten, but not for long, as they square off this weekend with first place on the line. A Glenpool win should secure them of the #1 seed, given their remaining schedule. An Owasso win would create an even bigger matchup than it is already gonna be with Bixby Red the following week! Big Red will have a quick turnaround after this BA makeup game. We'll see what type of advantage/disadvantage that will bring. (This is assuming Bixby beats BA Plat by 8+)

1. Glenpool 6-0 +33
2. Owasso White 6-0 +23
3. Bixby Red 4-1 +24

Eliminated:
Bartlesville
Skiatook
Claremore
Union Red
BA Platinum
Coweta Black

Key games this week:
Owasso White vs Glenpool

D2
Another division that is set after 6 weeks, with Jenks White eliminating McAlester. Only positioning left to be sorted out. BA Black, the runner ups from a year ago, have looked as dominant as ever as they lead the pack, but only by a mere marginal point over surpising Jenks White. BA must have been ticked when Mac got into the endzone that one time back in week 1, bc they haven't allowed another score since! Would have to check the stat tracker, but I bet the number of touchdowns they've scored is higher than the number of first downs allowed. Lol.. They get a good test @ McClain against the Bluedawgs this weekend. Jenks White just keeps on winnin! Week 9 should be epic!

1. BA Black 5-0 +40
2. Jenks White 6-0 +39
3. Tyaa Blue 5-1 +24

Eliminated:
BA Silver
Hilldale
Union Black
Owasso Red
Wagoner
McAlester

Key Games this week:
BA Black vs Tyaa Blue

D3
4 teams still alive. BA White and Tyaa Red meet up with the winner being in the drivers seat to finish as the #1 seed. Would like to watch that one. I know BA White hasn't forgot being knocked out of the playoffs by this Tyaa team just a year ago (13-0).. Union Silver with the head to head over Catoosa is the 3 seed and just needs to win out to secure a bid. With a week 7 bye and Muskogee and the schedule, that seems very likely. Pryor would need to nip em week 8. (This is assuming BA beats O-Black by 8+)

1. BA White 6-0 +40
2. Tyaa Red 5-0 +39
3. Union Silver 4-2 +11

Still in contention:
Catoosa 4-2 +8

Eliminated:
Muskogee
Owasso Black
Sand Springs Black
Pryor
Bishop Kelley

Key Games this week:
Tyaa Red vs BA White

D4
I know its a long shot for Choctaw and Stillwater, but to have 6 teams still mathematically in contention with only 3 games to go, and 4 of those 6 all tied at 4-2, is very impressive. Jenks Maroon in dominant fashion, stands atop this gauntlet of a division with 3 westside matchups left. The Twolves cant overlook Stillwater, but I know they're chompin at the bit for that Jenks matchup likely for the division title.. The last spot is really down to 2 teams- Bixby Blue and Edmond. And Edmond is in serious trouble, but are not out. They first need Jenks to beat Norman, then they will need to beat Jenks in the finale to force a 3 way tie between Norman, Bixby and Edmond (all would be 7-2). At that point it would come down to marginal points. Then the last two, head to head. Stay tuned!

1. Jenks Maroon 6-0 +48
2. Norman Twolves 5-1 +32
3. Edmond 4-2 +23

Still in contention:
Bixby Blue 4-2 +16
Stillwater 4-2 +15
Choctaw Blue 4-2 +8

Eliminated:
Norman Tigers
Sapulpa
Sand Springs Gold
Choctaw Gold

Key Games this week:
Jenks Maroon vs Choctaw Blue
Stillwater vs Norman Twolves

AA
One thing is for certain. Lincoln Christian is pretty darn good. They will finish 9-0 and be the heavy favorites to win the AA championship. Question remains, who will be that team to get a second chance at redemption? Collinsville controls their destiny to finish as the #2 seed. Just gotta win out. Verdigris looks to have the toughest remaining schedule with Berryhill and LC, while BA Chrome has the easiest, against teams with a combined 5-13 record. Top 5 should be set, again just positioning still in question.

1. Lincoln Christian 6-0 +48
2. Collinsville 5-1 +30
3. Verdigris 4-2 +18
4. Berryhill 4-2 +17
5. BA Chrome 4-2 +15

Eliminated:
Hulbert
Checotah
Sequoyah
South Tulsa
Coweta White

Key games:
LC @ Verdigris

Cards, thanks for all of your hard work! Love this! Just one correction, bc I’m a coach there lol.. Jenks Maroon should be at 48. Thanks again for the breakdown and hard work you are always putting in! Hope it’s not too much of a headache for you!

Does anyone know how the playoffs are setup?  I know there are 4 divisions and the top 3 teams from each division get in but who plays who?

I obviously dont know for certain, but it's gotta be 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3. Anything other than that wouldn't make sense

With 12 teams making the playoffs (Top 3 x 4 Div), All one seeds should get a first round bye as they should use a 16 team bracket format... Correct?
