« on: July 24, 2017, 02:27:55 pm »
Since this is the first year available for AA, I am wanting to see who might be in it? Lincoln Christian will be in AA this year.

Just curious, but why would a team that won 6 ballgames last year want to go AA this year?

AA was created for schools 3A and smaller, expansion or new teams or teams that had a rough year. I can not speak for other teams but we at Lincoln are a 2A size school that plays 3A high school football. Lincoln registers all teams AA, always have. They don't ask us coaches, we just play where ever we are scheduled.

I was thinking the same thing is to why infc would allow a team with 6 wins last year in AA.
I thought AA was for new or teams that struggled with less wins than 3? And one of the teams that got in AA already bragging about winning it all in AA cause it's a easy division. It's beyond me.

Coach Mike I hope you are not referring to Lincoln as bragging about winning it all. Your comments feel directed toward me and Lincoln. I guess you could be referring to Berryhill they finished with 8 wins counting post season. I have the utmost respect for every team. I take no team for granted especially at this age. I think AA has some solid teams in it, and this should be a fun year.

INFC AA League
Article 1: INFC determined that the need exists to form a separate league
being referred to as the “AA” league. It will consist of 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade
teams considering each grade can fill a division. Teams qualifying to play in the
AA league must meet one of the following requirements:

1. The organization must qualify as being an 1A, 2A, or 3A district as listed
by the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA).

2. A team classified as being in the A division with a poor winning record
the previous year or a newly formed team the commission determines
will have difficulty performing in the A league. Qualifying teams will be
determined annually by a number system adopted by the INFC.

3. Organizations classified as 1A, 2A, or 3A districts will be allowed to play
in the A division if the club or team within the club wishes to do so. All
4A, 5A, or 6A specified district teams must be approved by the INFC
Commission before play is allowed in the AA league.

4. A team allowed to transfer from A league to AA league must return
to the A league the following year if first or second place in the team’s
division is achieved.

5. Teams who compete within the AA Championship game will be
prohibited from participating in the AA league the following season.

I get it that it's open to any school 3A or smaller, it just seems to be more of a division for struggling teams. 3 of the teams in the division didn't win a ballgame last year, 2 of them won 1 ballgame, and 1 team won 3. It just don't seem like the sort of competition a team that won 6 games in a regular division would go looking for.

since you are referencing the 6 win team i will respond by saying there was no way of knowing who was going to be in and if they would only have one AA division when teams were registering. i would stop worrying about the 6 win team and get ready for some of the other teams to have a strong season. or you can keep worrying about the 6 win team its up to you. i am not looking at anyone's record from last year, with 6 of the teams being 5a or larger it will be easy to have a couple of new players that change the team dynamics. Good Luck to all and if any of the coaches want to private message me to talk about sharing game film or just to talk feel free.

I'm not worried about any team, just stating opinion.  Nothing wrong with that, I hope.

Sounded like you were acussing them of looking for something easy. I get having an opinion but that last comment seemed a little accusatory. Dang AA is getting hoping early. I like it!

"It just don't seem like the sort of competition a team that won 6 games in a regular division would go looking for." That is more than an opinion. You can write what ever you like, just don't accuse an organization of looking for something and expect them not to reply.
