Week 9 Picks
« on: October 23, 2019, 06:00:15 pm »
Still some meaningful games with playoff implications for some, playoff preparation for a few, and others just trying to finish with a W before the PST. Good luck!

Broken Arrow Black @ South Tulsa – I’m still a little interested in this one, just to see if BA Black can put up a TD or two.

Catoosa @ Broken Arrow White- Rolling into the playoffs.

Edmond @ Norman – Going Norman here, but should be fairly competitive.

Verdigris @ Grove – Big time matchup to determine who gets 2nd place in D2 and who has to face Glenpool first round (if INFC bracket procedures don’t change). I’ve previously placed Verdigris higher in my rankings because Grove lost to Lincoln, but #37 didn’t play in that game. I’m going with Grove here because I think quite frankly that #37 will be the difference maker between these two teams. Verdigris plays very solid D and it’ll be close..ish.

Sand Springs @ Union – a week ago I’d have picked 4-4 Sand Springs here, but I’ve watched more 3-5 Union tape and I think they actually pull it off. Which if they do….. My way too early projection of 4-4 TYAA Black(assuming they beat Bartlesville)  making the playoffs in 3rd spot of D4 will be right. Right? I think I’m on track here. Sand Springs wins and they punch their own ticket. But I just think Union has started coming into their own even in some losses and they look like they’ll make this a game and hand TYAA Black a gift (although Jenks Maroon 1st round of the playoffs wouldn’t be a very good gift. lol).

Pryor @ Claremore –Both projected to be early favorites, neither team be happy with the season overall, but like Morris said, there’s always the Classic.

Wagoner @ Sequoyah – D2 has been a roller coaster and Sequoyah’s riding high after the win over Lincoln Christian.

Lincoln Christian @ Muskogee – This is a tough pick. Two teams that just missed the playoffs, but still very solid teams. Sort of a mini GOTW for me. I could absolutely see Muskogee winning it. #31 on the line I believe? That boy is an absolute problem and LC will not have an answer for him. But, I don’t think Muskogee has an answer for LC’s #21 either.

Mcalester @ BA Gold – BA Gold looks like they need to pick themselves back up. I know they're still winning but it seems like their defense never fully recovered from the Glenpool game. Let’s see if they can post a shut out here?

Skiatook @ Owasso Silver- Should be easy money for Skiatook.

Piedmont @ Westmoore – should be a nice recovery game after getting shut out by Stillwater.

Jenks Silver @ Bixby White – GOTW – Winner goes to the playoffs with a chance to face either Verdigris or Grove. I think Silver has more skill and a better, more versitile offense. Bixby maybe plays a little better D, but Jenks wears them down and takes over 4th quarter.

Coweta White @ Hilldale – Coweta White has just shown more offense and ability to score.

TYAA White @ Bishop Kelley – Recovery game/playoff preparation for White after Jenks Maroon put a statement W on them.

Bixby Blue @ Owasso Red – Going Bixby Blue but could be Red.

Collinsville @ Berryhill – Just another easy W for C’ville after playing a solid Union squad.

TYAA Black @ Bartlesville – Black gets it done while crossing their fingers for Union.

Sapulpa @ Glenpool – 35+-0 Sorry Sapulpa. Try and get #99 grounded by dad at least. Lol.

Jenks Maroon @ Coweta Black – Another easy shut out to prep for playoffs.

Choctaw @ Yukon- Go Yukon. Hope you get that elusive W before the season’s over.

Very good work on this one bud. I mostly agree with your picks... Coweta white has definitely found the endzone ALOT more often than we have, but I'll let my defense determine if they score this Saturday, lol... As always EPO and in good fun.. Sad to think this seaosn is coming to an end,but its been a great seaosn to be a part of...

Broken Arrow Black @ South Tulsa( the 1st grade champs are looking to finish strong and prep for a playoff run. Ba Black wants to be competitive ,but SOUTH TULSA rolls in this one.)

Catoosa @ Broken Arrow White( 2nd grade champs want to fine tune some things and cruise into the playoffs. Catoosa has a nice little squad and will be ready to play. BA WHITE doesn't miss a beat...)

Edmond @ Norman( towards the start of the season I'd lean towards Edmond here, but think NORMAN gets the job done..)

Verdigris @ Grove ( what a great game to end the regular season for these 2 squads.  Should be a good one and the winner should have the #2 spot in this tough division...)

Sand Springs @ Union( Sand Springs has had a nice season and Union starting to put it all together and look good. This game has alot riding on it for a few teams... UNION gets it done, late in the 4th...)

Pryor @ Claremore( the tigers vs the zebras, 2 teams I know pretty well over the last 3 years. 2 teams that can bring it and stay prepared... been a long season for Pryor(like for us at Hilldale),but they have not and will not throw in the towel or lay down. CLAREMORE gets the win,but wouldn't be surprised if the tigers gave them everything they want and some...)

Wagoner @ Sequoyah( 2 squads that have seen some success, in what is clearly the toughest division this year... looking for WAGONER to secure the win in this one.)

Lincoln Christian @ Muskogee ( nice little non division matchup to end the regular season for these teams.. the Gee looking to end making a statement,LC looking for the same. It'll be a home game and good crowd in MUSKOGEE  and they get the job done.)

Mcalester @ BA Gold( good game for BA GOLD to finish the regular season out with, a chance to work on some things and prepare for their run...)

Skiatook @ Owasso Silver ( Osilver looks to make it a competitive game, but SKIATOOK is on mission to just get better and better and make statements in the playoffs...)

Piedmont @ Westmoore( looking for WESTMORE to get it done here...)

Jenks Silver @ Bixby White( what a game this should be... Silver coming off a tough, non division loss,White been putting it together all season... winner of this makes it as the 3 seed for our division.. Playing both squads  back to back to start the season....I'm going with JENKS SILVER to squeak by and make the playoffs...)

Coweta White @ Hilldale( HILLDALE and I'll let my defense have the say so if they score or not....)

TYAA White @ Bishop Kelley( TYAA WHITE rolls and gets into form to make a run .)

Bixby Blue @ Owasso Red( thinking BIXBY BLUE gets it done here...)

Collinsville @ Berryhill( CVILLE likes to stay quiet and MRW will finally give us his top 10 after this game... Bhill has had tough go at it,but remain a well coached team, looking for them to bounce back in a big way next season...)

TYAA Black @ Bartlesville( TYAA BLACK wins and keepd playoff hopes alive...)

Sapulpa @ Glenpool( Sapulpa will get in there and mix it up,but cmon now... the legion of boom cruises to another bigtime shutout...)

Jenks Maroon @ Coweta Black( MAROON rolls with another shutout and rolls into the playoffs unblemished...)

Choctaw @ Yukon( I too am pulling for YUKON... we got our 1st dub,you guys will too....)

Good luck to all...
