I sort of agree to some extent about the bracket not looking quite even personally, but it is what it is, no easy games for anyone from here on out. Some of it's just speculation/perception anyways and no one's going to be super happy about it, but it does look like there's some easier games for the first round on the right side of the bracket. The South Tulsa - Skiatook game is why he was pissed off about it because it's two strong teams facing each other in #2 vs #2 and the only other #2 vs #2 is Gold and Choctaw which probably won't be as evenly matched at all.
Sand Springs @ Jenks Maroon - Pretty easy pick for me, but then I've been underestimating Sand Springs all season. Put a score or two on em at least Sandites. Show everyone they aren't invincible.
Bixby White @ Grove - Grove has been underestimated IMO. BK 99 I believe you said the top 4 were already known unless delusional? Skiatook is spooky? I mean I get it, to some degree, but c'mon. Sometimes it depends on what they ate for breakfast, who's cold, who's got the sniffles, who's done with football and ready for some SpongeBob, etc... I will actually say Grove gets past Bixby fairly easily, and then I'd even go so far to say they have a very real shot at beating Jenks. Will I pick them over Jenks Maroon? Maybe not, but they'll make it a game and I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were a surprise in the final 4. (and maybe Bixby White surprises me, I've underestimated them all year too.)
8-1 BA Gold has to travel to 5-3 Choctaw and be there at 530pm on a Tuesday? I would not be happy about that at all. Sort of one last slap in the face for Gold I guess. I'm betting this is a sort of close game, but again with my earlier point about the final 4. BA Gold has a legit shot at it too. Pretty sure last year C'ville barely beat them in overtime if I remember correctly. Collinsville wants a rematch with BA White, I'm betting Gold wants one with C'ville just as much and I could see it going Gold's way. Choctaw, sorry but your season opening loss to BA Black makes you hard to take seriously. Prove us wrong.
South Tulsa at Skiatook is hard to pick. Going Skiatook because I feel like they've progressed more over the season than South Tulsa, but could go either way. Should be a fun one.
Verdigris @ Glenpool - Verdigris is a sound, well coached team and I hope they can punch a hole in Glenpool's armor but I doubt they will. Convincing win/shut out by Glenpool.
TYAA White @ Stillwater - TYAA White getting handled so thoroughly by Jenks was surprising. I don't think that happens here, but I don't think they'll be able to take all of Stillwater's heat. Enjoy it while it lasts Stillwater and start watching Glenpool tape now if you haven't.
Will try and post some PST picks later tonight or tomorrow if time allows.
