Overall standings
« on: October 21, 2020, 07:09:35 pm »
Question for rankings on the playoff seedings. What does the numerical value assigned to a teams “standing” represent? I don’t believe it’s point differential so I’m unsure. Any old hats around here understand what it represents?

If you win your team gets the positive points, up to +8. If you lose the game by more than 8 points, then your -8 for that game. So if you win 21-19, your +2 for the weekend. If you lose 20-6 that weekend, then your -8 for that game. The max is -8 or +8. Make sense?

So will that determine who will get the first round bye Because if they do it like they did last yr for 3rd grade they had only 1 team with a first round bye?

To follow up on what coach dal asked, looking at the teams right now, how will they seed them. If an undefeated team has less points than a team with a loss, does the one loss team actually get a higher seed? Seems like record should have some weight right?

No, and they will go by divisional record first. At least that’s the way it’s been in the past.

It’s been that way last 3 years we’ve been in infc. Previous year champion is said to be in division 2. Not sold on if that’s correct but it’s hasn’t been wrong yet

Would the bye go to Division 3 since they have the biggest div? they would have that extra div win?

Yea that would kinda make sense with them having 8teams in everybody else having 7 the 1st place team should get the bye

I have a question? Does playoffs for the top 3 teams in each division start the week after the last game of the season or how does that works

Yes. Seeding meeting is Sunday after last game. Can be Tuesday night first game, but usually Thursday. Depending on field availability, and travel time for those that don’t have home field.

I believe the bye goes to the #1 team overall. That looks to be TYAA White or Owasso Red. Big game for those two this Saturday.
