Hes my assistant for Union. We got a ton of work and definitely have it cut out for us against LC in week 4. It was a blast to be out there with all of you coaches in Stillwater. Shaffer, again man hopefully we will get to hook up soon, sucks that it got called at the last shift. Enjoyed talking to you and appreciate the sportsmanship from all of you HCs.

Bartlesville white, very organized out there, has some kids that just want to hit you til break in two.

Hilldale, well coached, has some speed here and there, and is physical in the trenches, and gets back on D very quick, and calls their huddles pretty well on O when the coaches are off in the distance almost as good as BVille did.

BA Black, best looking team in Stillwater today, has 3 kids that will torch you if you miss more than one assignment in that play area. Great all around looking group and can’t wait to stack up with these guys in the latter part of the season.

Jenks Maroon, has some shockingly resilient runners, you think your kid has the tackle and they keep their feet moving down field, O line needs some work and they could be dangerous for anyone if not taken seriously.

Union, hey 8 of my kiddos have played ball before out of my 26, and they did great for us today. Still gotta flatten things out but I was proud of all of them, they made a ton of progress this week in practice. Can’t wait to watch these kids grow and develop them. Great kids and some great parents. Some of my best O lineman weren’t here today but it was all good. They all had a blast which is a positive thing in getting them to love this game they way we all do.

We got cancelled due to lightning for the 8pm session in Stillwater but here is my opinion on some of the upper echelon of teams. I haven't gotten to see film or lay my eyes on Catoosa, Coweta Black, Skiatook or Sapulpa so I have no opinion on them. I've seen in person or film of everyone else on the east side. In no order...

Bixby Blue - THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!! Actually, they are better. Clear favorite and its not really debatable at this moment.
TYAA Red - Went and saw them today. Big, Fast, Strong. Their coach says they aren't there yet, but they are easily a top team. Better have off-tackle and the outside covered. And be able to wrap up against them.
TYAA Blue - #7 and #9 are studs. Didn't look as good as Red today but still going to be good.
Glenpool - Saw them today as well at BTW. Stop #2 on offense and defense and you have a chance. Good team around him but easy to see he is the key to their success.
Lincoln Christian - Solid all around. Stop their RB from hitting it outside and make sure your secondary is on their toes. They throw it more than anyone else in the league.
Ft. Gibson - #6. He was their offense and most of their defense when I watched them.
Hilldale - Good coaching and good schemes, just lack that speedster to complete their double reverses.
Muskogee - Awesome athletes, lots of kids on the team which might hinder them. Also heard a few of them got covid and can't practice for a while.
Sand Springs - Quick and hard to tackle their RB's. Good runners. I counted 29 kids this morning when I saw them. That's too many in my opinion and will be the reason they fall.
BA White - Defense is solid with some big boys up front and good athletes at LB and Corner.

I am a coach for BA Gold so I don't have an opinion on us. We probably have the toughest non-divisional schedule with the good Choctaw team and TYAA Red weeks 1 and 2. Ton of talent in Class of 2031. Hoping all the boys get coached up, get better, and want to play next year.

I'll go with
Lincoln Christian winning D1
Bixby Blue winning D2
Glenpool winning D3
No opinion on D4 because we are in it
Choctaw Blue winning D5

Word on the streets is Choctaw Blue is the team that has #16 on it. If that’s the case then that will be the good team. That’s coach Mac’s boy Rook and if no one knows about him you will. The boy can play that’s for sure. They also have a great quarterback along with a awesome lineman named Jett. The best in the west that’s for sure. They are also hands down also a top 5 team even adding them to the east side.

I don't know if it was Choctaw Gold or Blue...but the 3rd grade Choctaw team I saw scrimmage yesterday is a legit contender!!! Size and speed everywhere. One of the most stifling defenses I have seen in a 3rd grade team.

Scrimmages are over here is my top 10.

1-Bixby Blue- Champs #21, 20 are just different that for sure. To go with them is a QB and #7 along with many more to add to a great team. Randy has that offense really clicking to make a run at another championship.

2-TYAA Red- Got to line up with this group so I can speak on what I know first hand. Very fast group all around especially with the boys they added from white.  They as a whole are well coached group of kids. In my opinion they will be one of the most athletic teams anyone plays that’s for sure.

3-Choctaw Blue- Coach Mac and company will be ready that’s for sure. They have Rook and Jett which is better than most teams as far as players. Great test week one and two against BA Gold and Glenpool week 2.

4- TYAA Blue- Great team and they have been together for a while. As long as 7, 9, and King  is on the field they got a chance.  Defense is still tough and that’s the difference here. The the only team that has beat them is Bixby. Watch out these kids are better than u think.

5- Glenpool- After watching everyone and watching film this is truly where I think we are. We aren’t peaking to early. We will and are getting better as the days go bye. Different feeling over here and a lot of different players along with coaches. Kids are buying in and learning so fast. Look forward to the season that’s for sure.

6- Lincoln Christian- PHYSICAL Group kids that’s for sure.  They also have a coach that can coach and has also won a championship in the league. #1 is a tough kid along with the defensive end I think is number 10. They also have a big boy which can play as well in the middle.  They will defiantly win there division without any problem at all.

7-BA Gold- #22 is a game changer in this league for sure. Kid works his tail off year round waiting to play football. As for this team they have added two guys that are I would call football brothers that defiantly know the game. This alone will make them a better team defensively. Also they added a offensive coach that knows how to play the game as well. They also added those three’s kids to the mix as well. All them kids packaged with #32 they should be a great group. What I have watched on film from last week they will give some teams fits. Time will tell sooner then later this group has a tough one 4 weeks in a row. They have a chance at 2&3 so they could move up really quickly if they can take care of business.

8-Ft Gibson- #6 game changer on both sides of the ball. This kids play with a chip on his shoulder and it really shows. Love to watch this kid play. Last year he took this group all the way to the ship and came up short to the number 1 Bixby blue. Look for this group to make some noise we are looking forward to playing then week three.

9-Sand Springs Black-I got to see this team in person and they have a lot of kids. That being said they seem to be really good from what I saw. They have good coaching so will see how they get all the plays in for all the kids. Don’t be surprised as this group has shocked many in the past. I can tell you this you don’t wanna play them come playoff time. They have upset many teams in the past so don’t take this group of kids and coaches lightly.

10-Muskogee-#1, 7, & 47 are studs for this team an for this league. Very athletic team that will make a lot of noise this year. The only problem and reason I have them at 10 is they have a lot of kids. Getting upper 20’s of kids in is really tough to do. Its going to have to be a really strategic system to make this happen. Hope the best for this group and wish them a lot of luck as the season goes on.

BA White, Hilldale, Claremore, Berryhill I could see moving into the top 10. All depends on how it falls all those teams have good coaches that know this game that’s for sure.

All in good fun fellas just glad football is here again. It’s all about these kids good luck to everyone let’s keep teaching these young men this great game all of us fell in love with.
