Lol.. You're reaching.. It's all the principle of the matter. If you don't understand my point, that's fine. But I think you do. In the end, I'm just glad these kids are able to play football. But a wise man once said, "without rules, there's chaos" Just like in life, there's the ones who try to abide by them, and there's the ones who try to break (tweak, bend) them.

At the end of the day you are either going to ask the main guy responsible for the refs or take the risk of having it interpreted on a game by game basis. I am saying get clarification and there would be no room for argument from anyone.

We run SG...as Shaffer seen in week one, and we direct our kids to line himself off of that guard because that's what we were told. OF course, we are just happy if they line up beside the quarterback...sometimes that's a struggle. Lol. Lets keep in mind these kids are 7 years old and they are not doing anything intentionally to get an advantage, it has more of the fact that they are seven years old. Coach Shaffer did you see a problem with how our RB's were lined? I would just be curious so we can correct.

Based on the refs we have had over the yrs I hardly think most are going to make the call every play on if a back is lined up "directly behind the guard. I could be wrong tho.

No sir you guys were lined up correctly as the book shows. If the back are lined up using half the guard I just don't believe a ton of refs are going to touch it. I could be wrong. I am interested to see what the Director would say but, I myself have never seen them stop a game for it unless the backs were staggered.

Eagles coach- I saw you all first hand as our D went against your O. I didn't see anything wrong with how you lined up. Yall did a pretty good job. However, the big picture is being missed. No need to further indulge. Good luck to you fellas this weekend!

The big picture is not being missed at all but, given the fact that "85% of teams are lining up incorrectly" as someone stated I would say that the question should be addressed with the Director. I seriously do not think most of the refs we have played with are going to address whether or not a back is lined up in direct correlation with a guard. However best of luck to you this wknd as well.

Just seen that was you lol. Either way I do however agree that the participation rule is the biggest issues that plague MM.

Haha Cards fan I was hoping you would forget about that first hand experience against our O. That was an absolute train wreck. BUT. My kids understand the concept of getting better each and every day and we are light years ahead of where we were that first scrimmage and even against Shaffer and his gang week 1. Me and my coaching staff are all 22-23 year old college students and we almost felt out of our element at first. We have adapted to what we need to and our kids have adapted where they need to. My motto is buy into the system and the system will buy into you. I appreciate you veteran coaches being patient with us and helping us along the way as well. (Shaffer seen how unprepared we were for the first game haha). Hopefully lessons have been learned and we are ready to play some football Saturday!

That's what it's all about right there! I appreciate what you do for those kids. I appreciate all volunteer coaches. You live and you learn. Thats what makes this world so great. Oh and I'm only a couple years older than you. Shaffer and co. are the old farts in the group! Lol

Well the ref can stop every other play Saturday as long as that clock keeps rolling baby.  That is why there are refs and there are coaches on the field.  I will be in the refs ear every play, back them up, scoot that QB up, get them behind the guards.  The ref can ask the opposing coach to back them up before snap.  Kids are kids I get but like everyone has stated Bixby is an extremely well coached team that is why I am bringing it up now.  So they can correct it if it isn't being taught for an advantage! ;)
It is going to be one fun game playing one of the best.  Win or lose our kids will be ready for a slobber knocker!  We have had to call off the beast for the rest of the week because we won't have any kids available to play.
