Wanted to say thanks to Rushing and the TYAA organization for hosting scrimmages. Great atmosphere and great competition to see where your team is at. Skiatook took are 2nd grade and our 1st grade to get some work in.
I will tell you don't look past any of the teams this year they can all play.
TYAA White- Smallest of all the teams that for sure. Don't let that fool anyone they are fast. In my opinion quarterback is a ball player and very shifty. He can also take a hit and if your corners cant tackle forget it he is going to score a lot. Their coach is great guy very respectful and he gets the most out of his boys.
TYAA Red-Biggest team I have seen this year and that includes Claremore Black. I only played offense against them this weekend, so I didn't get to play or see their offense. I will tell you #12 can run the ball this year. This is trouble cause I can tell you from experience he is one of if not the fastest kid in the grade. Seem to be young upfront on the D-line. #7 at the D-tackle spot is a big boy and will cause trouble for any team. You better get this kid blocked or he will be a headache. The 6th grade team that was in the finals last year is coaching this group. This group will get better and better as the year goes on. Great coaches they were awesome to play against.
TYAA Blue (Defending Champs)- This team in my eyes is still the best TYAA 2nd grade team. Great team I can't wait to play them cause its a dog fight every snap and you better bring your A-game. Rushing will tell you he did't get any better this year. I will tell you he is better that for sure. Kids have grown and as long as #7 is holding down the middle you better bring it. If your kids don't like to hit they might as well stay at home cause pads are popping when you play this group. I have played this group three times now including this scrimmage. Love the competition and camaraderie can't wait to see you in the playoffs Rushing!
