TYAA Blue
« on: November 03, 2017, 10:12:32 am »
I just wanted to put this out there as I don’t typically post much in this forum.

Playing against TYAA Blue two years now, last year I was a water boy and this year as a head coach I wanted to say thanks for the sportsmanship.

TYAA Blue played the cleanest game of football we have seen all year and the game was extremely hard fought on both sides with the touchdown that put them up by 7 points being in the last minute or so of the game. They were not holding our D line, they were not diving into our centers legs at the snap and they were not blitzing a LB into our center head on at the snap. I will admit that there was one hit that was flagged for helmet to helmet but am completely confident that his coach will address that as its football and 7-8 year olds are going to make mistakes, that’s why they have coaches.

I just wanted it to be known that TYAA Blue is a team who is well known for its talented players but I felt it necessary to mention that thy are coached to play clean football and that is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Stephen Lackey

Great post! How awesome would it be if all coaches and parents acted like this... I know I have at times come across less respectful than this, so I am not calling anyone out and placing myself better than others. Just reminds me where I should aim for. Thank you for the example!
