PICK'EM WEEK 9!

~LAST GAME OF THE SEASON!! It's cold out there and hope everyone is staying warm that is practicing and if your not practicing well I hope you get a practice in before Saturday. Good Luck everyone, last week of nothing counts before everything counts. Stay warm, stay safe, and travel safe! EPO!! ~

GLENPOOL WHITE (1-7) @ OWASSO RED (1-7) - Owasso Red has been showing signs of life these last few games. I think they get another win here to close out their Mighty Mite football season. Owasso Red

TYAA BLUE (7-0-1) @ CLAREMORE RED (3-5) - Claremore will have a nice team next year when they come together for 11 man ball next year. Unfortunately, they're playing the Champs this week. TYAA Blue wins this game 25-0, TYAA Blue

NORMAN TIMBERWOLVES (1-5) @ YUKON RED (2-4-1) - Yukon

GLENPOOL BLUE (4-3-1) @ COLLINSVILLE BLUE (1-5) - Glenpool Blue will be a team not to forget about next week when we head into Playoffs. They're a really good football team when they're playing like they're capable of playing. This game will be a good game to keep them warmed up for the Playoffs. Glenpool Blue

WESTMOORE BLACK (0-3-1) @ CHOCTAW BLACK (4-2-2) - Choctaw Black

CATOOSA GREEN (5-2-1) @ LINCOLN CHRISTIAN (6-2) - Typically, I would look at this game and think that it's going to be a great game as I think the two teams match up well with each other. Unfortunately, Catoosa Green took a step back last week and I think the issues they were having will just follow them into this weeks game. As a coach you can pour so much into making kids better by breaking down every detail of the sport for them to understand and drilling it 1000 times until it's muscle memory and teaching them about respect, but if they choose to be disrespectful because something isn't going their way to the point it is affecting the rest of the team then it's time for them to sit back and watch from a different view. So this week we will be putting our RBs and QB on the line and let some of the linemen that never get to run the ball play RB and QB. Why not, can't be any worse than what I dealt with last week, should be a fun game. Lincoln Christian wins this game easily by 28+ points. Lincoln Christian

CHOCTAW GOLD (8-0) @ NORMAN TIGERS (2-1-1) - Choctaw Gold has no competition, can't wait to see them in Playoffs. Choctaw Gold

COWETA WHITE (0-8) @ SAND SPRINGS GOLD (2-6) - Sand Springs Gold

CATOOSA BLACK (1-7) @ COLLINSVILLE RED (1-7) - Catoosa Black may still be without their best lineman, but they get another win here. Catoosa Black

STILLWATER (0-8) @ MUSKOGEE (8-0) - Muskogee, Playoffs finally here next week. I just feel they're going to be tough to beat no matter who is on the other side of the line of scrimmage from them. They have playmakers all over their field. Muskogee

BROKEN ARROW BLACK (5-1-2) @ UNION (8-0) - Union has some studs on their team. #2, #9, and #15 those guys are the real deal. #2 is a Football Player, the kid loves the game and you see it through the way he plays the game. Very deceiving to tackle, he runs with brick thighs so you better wrap those legs up tightly. He also goes down hill on his tackles hitting with great force. #9 is also a great player that is very underrated. He is a smart defensive player that gets sideline to sideline very quickly using great angles and offensively he scores about every other time he touches the ball. #15 is a great offensive tackle and defensive end. He crashes hard to the QB and is very strong and fast, offensively he pushes kids down over and over until they just fall down on their own.  I think this is a good match up for Union though as BA Black has #36 that can get to the ball carrier quick. I don't see Union scoring more than 18 points here, but I also don't see Broken Arrow Black scoring more than 6 points here. They will have to use Unions tendency's against them and stick to it without getting behind the chains. I still think this Union team will be too much for them though and wins 18-6. Union

EDMOND (0-6) @ YUKON WHITE (4-2) - Yukon White

BARTLESVILLE (6-2) @ BIXBY BLUE (7-0-1) - I like this Bartlesville Team, they have definitely found something in their team this year that they didn't have last year. Bixby Blue is a very talented team though and I don't think Bartlesville has enough talent ion their roster to pull a win off here. Bixby Blue wins this ball game 28+. Bixby Blue

CHOCTAW WHITE (6-1-1) @ PIEDMONT (4-3-1) - Piedmont

WESTMOORE RED (0-5) @ CHOCTAW BLUE (3-2-3) - Choctaw Blue

FORT GIBSON (6-0-1) @ SAPULPA (6-2) - Well how much has Covid affected Fort Gibson? I would say that it will hurt them a little being away from practice and all, but they get a win here going into playoffs. #6 is that special, the kid can throw a ball like junior high kid already. Fort Gibson wins this game 20-12. Fort Gibson

OWASSO WHITE (1-7) @ JENKS (4-3-1) - Jenks is better than I give them credit for on here and they get another win this week over Owasso White. 13-12 Jenks

CLAREMORE BLACK (4-3-1) @ BERRYHILL BLUE (0-7) - Claremore Black is a tough team that plays defense well. They also have a nice QB too and they will get a nice win this week going into the playoffs. Berryhill Blue just didn't quite get the pick of the litter. Claremore Black

WAGONER (0-6-1) @ BROKEN ARROW PLATINUM (3-5) - Broken Arrow Platinum is another one of those teams that had a winless season last year and have turned a few things around and actually look like a decent football team. Wagoner I think finally got a win this year, but nothing confirming that. Broken Arrow Platinum gets another win to close their season out at 4-5. Broken Arrow Platinum

COWETA BLACK (3-5) @ SKIATOOK (7-1) - I doubted Skiatook last week, I actually had them winning the game by the exact score they won by thinking their Defensive Line would have been the biggest threat, but then I flipped my pick to BA White winning 13-12 at the last minute. Should have stuck with my gut there and went with my original pick. This Skiatook team looks really good, they're a complete whole team and look great. Right now I think they can go compete with anybody and are peaking at the right time. There is going to be some great football to watch in the Playoffs this year and I will be there to support all the teams as they make their way through to the finals. Skiatook wins this week by several TDs. Skiatook

SEQUOYAH (1-6) @ HILLDALE (5-3) - Shaffer over there just preparing his boys silently as they head into the playoffs. After a tough schedule to start their season they have bounced back and will finish their Mighty Mite run in their final season with a win. Hilldale wins this game by 25. Hilldale

VERDIGRIS (4-4) @ BERRYHILL GOLD (4-4) - On paper this looks like it will be a great game, but if you have seen either of these teams playing you will know that Berryhill Gold has a better team with a tough schedule. Berryhill Gold wins this game by 21 points. Berryhill Gold

BIXBY RED (2-6) @ BROKEN ARROW GOLD (2-6) - I like both of these teams, but one has more talent than the other and will finish their season 3-6. Broken Arrow Gold has had a rough season this year, but they finish with a win over Bixby Red entering into the playoffs. Broken Arrow Gold

SAND SPRINGS BLACK (7-1) @ TYAA RED (7-1) - GAME OF THE WEEK!!! Seems like any time I pick against TYAA Red then they win so sorry Sand Springs Black. I think this will be a high scoring game, but Sand Springs Black wins 25-20. They just have so many fast kids and a very shifty one as well. They're so dynamic and explosive on offense, they also play very well and discipline football on defense. TYAA Red has the fastest RB in this grade and he can be such a difference maker when he makes weight. The problem is we never know when he is going to make weight and yes he is a difference between a win and a loss against the top teams. It's very hard to beat the really good teams without your best guys at each position no matter who you are, but with that being said I still think Sand Springs wins this game regardless. Sand Springs Black

BROKEN ARROW WHITE (6-2) @ TYAA WHITE (6-2) - GOTW #2!! I don't know which #8 is better than the other #8 as both of them are different kids. Both are great RBs and they both help their team tremendously. This is going to be a great game though and I honestly don't have any idea who will come out on top. I think it's going to be one of those games where it just depends on which teams boys show up and want to be out there more. I really do like the way #8 on TYAA White moves though and I think as the season has come along he has gotten better. Broken Arrow White I was very surprised to see they only put up 6 points last week as I thought they were an offensive machine, but I also know it's 2nd grade football and a lot can happen. Their offense didn't score any points last week though and that's a little concerning as I had them as a top 5 Team. This would be the week for them to come back and make a statement before Playoffs. I haven't given TYAA White enough respect this year and this gamer I'm picking them to win in a close game as I think they have improved as the year has gone by. 14-12 TYAA White

@Strategy & @BigBlue I’m not mad @ yall’s pick off SS Black over us RedDogs. SS Blacks seems to be a very talented team with a talented coaching staff, but please tell my why y’all think they will score so many points on our D? Especially when the most points we’ve given up in a game, all year is 13?

Pick'em Week 9

Im really glad we got to play this year if you would have told me we would be this far 3 moths ago I would have laughed at anyone.  Been a great year with competition and now it's almost playoff time.  Hope everyone has safe travels this week.

GLENPOOL WHITE (1-7) @ OWASSO RED (1-7)-I never thought I would say this but I think Owasso come away with the win in this one.

TYAA BLUE (7-0-1) @ CLAREMORE RED (3-5)-Bulldogs shut the clock off in this one.  They will be to much for Red in this one even though red does have a good back.  I think that Defense for Blue is just to physical for Red.

NORMAN TIMBERWOLVES (1-5) @ YUKON RED (2-4-1)-Don't know anything just a guess.

GLENPOOL BLUE (4-3-1) @ COLLINSVILLE BLUE (1-5)-Blue shuts the clock off in this one.  Glenpool is playing some really good football right now.  There coaches have taken them kids far from when I seen them in the scrimmage.  If Glenpool gets the right draw in the playoffs I could see them being a problem for a bunch of teams.

WESTMOORE BLACK (0-3-1) @ CHOCTAW BLACK (4-2-2)Choctaw is playing ball over there.

CATOOSA GREEN (5-2-1) @ LINCOLN CHRISTIAN (6-2)- Lincoln Christian I think wins this game without any issues.  I know strategy will have them boys ready over there, but Lincoln just has to many athletes in this one.

CHOCTAW GOLD (8-0) @ NORMAN TIGERS (2-1-1)- Gold shuts the clock off by half.  #16 will be to much for the Norman Tigers to handle over there.

COWETA WHITE (0-8) @ SAND SPRINGS GOLD (2-6)- Sand springs gold gets the W this week!!!

CATOOSA BLACK (1-7) @ COLLINSVILLE RED (1-7)-Collinsville red has had a rough schedule this year there are some divisions they would be better than 500 in.  I think Collinsville wins this game by three touchdowns and possibly shut the clock off.  #30 can play ball over there for red.

STILLWATER (0-8) @ MUSKOGEE (8-0)- Im going to pick Muskogee even though Butler doubted my Bulldogs last week!!!  ;D ;D ;D Just messing with you brother everyone is entitled to there opinion.  Anyway Muskogee shuts clock off at halftime.  #4, #7, and 47 are special kids over there and are really playing great together.

BROKEN ARROW BLACK (5-1-2) @ UNION (8-0)-I think that #2 and #9 will be to much on offense for the BA team.  #15 can play to for Union and his play on the defensive line will disrupt the backfield of BA.  #36 for BA can play I just don't think his play can over shadow the talent union has in this one.  Union by 3 touchdowns and it wouldn't surprise me if Union shuts the clock off.

EDMOND (0-6) @ YUKON WHITE (4-2)- Just a guess

BARTLESVILLE (6-2) @ BIXBY BLUE (7-0-1)-Bixby has way to much speed for the Bruins.  I know #27 for the Bruins can play it just won't be enough this week. Bixby shuts clock off in this one!

CHOCTAW WHITE (6-1-1) @ PIEDMONT (4-3-1)- Choctaw will be to much in this one.

WESTMOORE RED (0-5) @ CHOCTAW BLUE (3-2-3)-Blue will be to much as well in this one.

FORT GIBSON (6-0-1) @ SAPULPA (6-2)-#6 will be to much in this one for Sapulpa in this one.  Ft Gibson by 2 touchdowns in this one!

OWASSO WHITE (1-7) @ JENKS (4-3-1)-#13 will be to much for Owasso in this one.  Clock get shut off by Jenks in this one!

CLAREMORE BLACK (4-3-1) @ BERRYHILL BLUE (0-7)-Claremore blacks line is really big and I think that #9 has a field day behind that line in this one.  Clock also get shut off in this one.

WAGONER (0-6-1) @ BROKEN ARROW PLATINUM (3-5)- BA has gotten better and better this year.   I think they finish the season with a win in this one.

COWETA BLACK (3-5) @ SKIATOOK (7-1)-I can't tell you all how proud of my boys I am after last week.  Never go against my boys!!!!!!

SEQUOYAH (1-6) @ HILLDALE (5-3)- #3 will have a field day in this one.  Shaffer will finish out the regular season with the win this week.  I know they lost last week, but this team could be scary with the right draw in the playoffs.

VERDIGRIS (4-4) @ BERRYHILL GOLD (4-4) Berryhill Gold has a really good line I think its the difference in this one.  #1 can also run the ball and is really a tough kid.  Berryhill by three touchdowns.

BIXBY RED (2-6) @ BROKEN ARROW GOLD (2-6)- BA Gold #22 is a stud and he will be to much for Bixby red in this one.  I think Gold shuts the clock off in this one!

SAND SPRINGS BLACK (7-1) @ TYAA RED (7-1) This is going to be a great game this week. I think if 12 runs the ball he will be the difference maker in this one.  If he don't I still think they come away with the win in this one.  On the other hand Sand Spring Black is fast and really disciplined.  If red don't show up I could see them coming away with it in a tight one.  I just think Red has something to prove and they show up Hungry and ready to go.

BROKEN ARROW WHITE (6-2) @ TYAA WHITE (6-2)-This is my game of the week this week.  I have lined up with both teams this year and they are both so different.  TYAA backfield is more talented in the backfield then BA White is. #8 for TYAA is really shifty runner, and #10 is the same way.  #8 for BA if he get a lane he is fast enough to take it all the way. As for #7 for BA tough kid runs hard and plays the same way on the defensive side.  The thing is they aren't more talented on the line than BA White.  #5 and #24 for BA white are very under rated kids they can play. This game is going to come down to the wire I believe.  I'm going to go with my gut in this one and I think the score is 13-12 TYAA.

@DCaines - Here are my Notes on these two teams for this game.

TYAA Red - 35  Points against this year (32) - Points given up against a Team with a Winning Record (32) Played 4 Teams with Winning Records
Bixby Red (2-6) - 0  Points for this Season (59) - Points against Teams with a Winning Record (12)

TYAA Red - 7
Fort Gibson (6-0-1) - 13  Points for this Season (201) - Points against Teams with a Winning Record (53)

TYAA Red - 12
Glenpool Blue (4-3-1) - 6  Points for this Season (142) - Points against Teams with a Winning Record (42)

TYAA Red - 42
Collinsville Blue (1-5) - 0  Points for this Season (31) - Points against Teams with a Winning Record (0)

Broken Arrow Gold (2-6) - 0  Points for this Season (83) - Points against Teams with a Winning Record (32)

TYAA Red - 12
Lincoln Christian (6-2) - 0  Points for this Season (212) - Points against Teams with a Winning Record (21)

TYAA Red - 34
Berryhill Blue (0-7) - 0  Points for this Season (0) - Points against Teams with a Winning Record (0)

SS Black - 34  Total Points For against a Team with a Winning Record (103) Played 4 Teams with Winning Records
Berryhill Blue - 0  Total Points Against (221)

SS Black - 27
Catoosa Green - 6   Total Points Against (80)

SS Black - 28
Bixby Red - 0  Total Points Against (187)

SS Black - 13
Fort Gibson - 27  Total Points Against (45)

SS Black - 38
Glenpool Blue - 6  Total Points Against (115)

SS Black - 42
Collinsville Blue - 0  Total Points Against (201)

Sand Springs Black - 25
Sapulpa - 0  Total Points Against (59)

SS Black - 26
Broken Arrow Gold - 7  Total Points Against (83)

I can see an argument to be made as well for Sand Springs and why anyone would think they get 20 points put on them this week also. When I first looked at this game I was thinking that it would be a 12-7 ball game and I had TYAA Red winning the game with the strength of their Linemen as we all know SS Black has a small line. The problem is I haven't had a chance to see you guys play this year and it's hard to go off of someone saying your line is the biggest in the league, but it's also never talked about how good they are so there is a question mark there that needs to be filled.

To answer your question Mr. Caines with complete honesty, It was a gut feeling and a score that I pulled out of my ass on a hunch because I am a little Bias towards the team that whipped my teams butt. Both Teams are legit and a nightmare for anyone in Playoffs. Good Luck this weekend and next week.

@Strategy, I LOVE the in-depth analysis, keep em coming! My D has another big test this weekend & I think they’ll be ready. Holding FTG & Sapulpua both to only 13 points that all came in the 1st half & keeping Lincoln Christian completely off of the score board should have been good tests for our D. But obviously I’m biases 😂 😂 😂. Last Question do you think SSBlack offense is better than FTG?

I know the score doesn't reflect what I'm about to say and I think you will understand what I mean after this weekend, but yes I do. Fort Gibson is really good and has a couple players to assist #6, but SS Black has 3 kids that can score at any given moment. #6 played lights out and probably his best game against SS Black, but #6 for Fort Gibson is being prepared like a Junior High QB/LB. His dad coaches for Junior High and High School at Fort Gibson and #6 is there with him all the time. His football knowledge is unbelievable for this age and when the rest of his team is able to process the flow of the game as well as he does then this team will be very dangerous.

Sand Springs Black is very well coached, they lead block very well and follow their lead blockers very well too. When they get going and find a weak spot they are tough to handle and when you think you have their RBs trapped they seem to find a way to wiggle themselves to the open field especially #24. There has only been 1 game they scored less than 25 points in, they have a lot of finesse and Fort Gibson has a lot of Grit. #6 will run you over and #24 will work around you going forward.

Two different offenses, but in my opinion SS Black has more weapons.

Well @Strategy sounds like this is gonna be a damn good game! SSBlack has only scored less than 25 once & we’ve only given up a total of 32 points all season long, with only 2 teams scoring 13 points in the 1st half. No one has scored in the 2nd half!  With all this good analysis going on it seems to me the game will be won on the line of scrimmage, can they block my D Line? I believe our #5 is easily a top 3 lineman offensively/defensively & our #36 ain’t too far behind him. Well shall see

No idea about your D Line 😬 Haven’t seen your team this year, just heard about it through the channels is all. Hell you guys may turn the clock off on them, I dunno but it’s all fun and speculation until that score is turned in. Just feels like a good build up to a good game is all. Good Luck this weekend and through playoffs, both teams should have a nice run.
