Week 4 is here! This season is already flying by, soon enough we will be watching these boys play in Junior High and you will have many regrets on what you coached and how you coached, no matter how good of a coach you were. You have to coach these boys the best you can every chance you get so you can dwindle those future regrets away. With that being said it's one of the best feelings in the world to be able to sit down in the stands knowing they will play the game by the rules and with great knowledge. Being able to watch each kid on the field and knowing you had a part in what they're accomplishing.
Good Luck everyone and at the bottom you can use the template to put your picks in, as always EPO.
OWASSO WHITE (1-2) vs BARTLESVILLE (2-1) - Well the score from last week made it a bit more interesting. This could actually turn out to be a really good game. I’m thinking Bartlesville might be a little better but it’s hard to argue Owasso White winning 32-6 over Wagoner last week. I’m going to stick to the Bruins though. Bartlesville
CHOCTAW BLACK (2-1) vs YUKON RED (?-?) - Choctaw Black, who is Yukon Red?
LINCOLN CHRISTIAN (3-0) vs OWASSO RED (0-3) - Would think Owasso would be bringing in all the talent with how their HS program is doing. Lincoln Christian has one heck of a defense only giving up 6 points this year. Has also scored over 100 points in 3 games as well. Unfortunately the teams they have played are 1-8-2 and have only scored 20 points between the three of them, they need more competition so when playoffs come they have been able to evaluate themselves and fix any issues they see. Lincoln Christian
JENKS (2-0-1) vs HILLDALE (1-2) - Jenks not giving me much to go off of. They tie Wagoner, beat Bartlesville, then let a Sequoyah team that hasn't scored a TD ever, score on them. Nevertheless they still won 25-6 over Sequoyah. Hilldale started off with the Champs, TYAA Blue, which there was no chance in that ball game as TYAA Blue is just that much better. It didn't stop there as they had Bixby Blue next who just tied TYAA Blue this past weekend. Finally they got room to breathe as they played Broken Arrow Platinum, now I like the coach of BA Platinum and his boy Will, but I think a few things may have gone their way to be in that last game. This is a good matchup for both teams here and I could see the game going either way, but I feel Shaffers boys have settled down after 2 tough losses to very good teams and a win under their belt. Now they will be able to play some ball the way the coach wants them to. I would like to see how Shaffer will do with an elite group of kids, I bet he could win some competitive tournaments. Hilldale
BROKEN ARROW GOLD (1-2) vs SAPULPA (3-0) - Broken Arrow Gold is a better team than their records reflects. I believe Fort Gibson is just that good and I believe the Glenpool Blue coach is just that good of a coach. Sapulpa feels disrespected with the rankings as they should. They have outscored their opponents 131-9 which includes a Sand Springs Gold team thats 2-1 that they beat 41-2, a Glenpool Blue team they beat 28-7 which isn't easy putting 28 points on much less keeping them to 7 points, and when they played Collinsville Blue they weren't playing around winning 62-0. This tells me they make turnovers happen and I say this without even seeing the games as averaging almost 44 points per game in 3 games is almost impossible to do without lots of turnovers. Sapulpa will come out on top again as they have kids on both sides of the ball that can play, but I don't think they get anywhere near their 44 point average. Sapulpa
BROKEN ARROW PLATINUM (1-2) vs BIXBY BLUE (2-0-1) - Platinum is one of the more improved teams from last year and are doing good regardless of the record. They played Bartlesville within a TD beat Sequoyah 27-0 and played Hilldale to within a point. Last year they went 0-9 and gave up 203 points and only scored 6. Bixby Blue is undeniably a contender this year regardless of their roster count. I had them picked to beat TYAA Blue and they questioned my decision after I was reminded they had a full roster, but they still came out there and tied the Champs 13-13. I wasn't at that game, but that's very tough to do as I have played mighty mites with 15 kids on a roster and it's not easy. Bixby Blue has way too many weapons for this Platinum team, they win big here. Bixby Blue
CATOOSA BLACK (1-2) vs BROKEN ARROW WHITE (2-1) - Ouch, Catoosa Black has a brick wall ahead of them this week. Broken Arrow White is a very tough team and so is this division. BA White has only given up 2 TDs this year and one of them was to Muskogee who is on a roll and pushing to be the champs this year. Catoosa Black got a win last week over Stilly boys, but they better get focused real quick or it's going to be a long game as BA White will score quick and often. Still yet, I can't pick against my Catoosa Teams. Catoosa Black forces 10 fumbles and returns them all for TD's, plus scores on a Fumblerooski. Catoosa Black wins 66-65. Catoosa Black
NORMAN TIGERS (?-?) vs PIEDMONT (?-?) - Your guess is as good as mine.
TYAA BLUE (2-0-1) vs WAGONER (0-2-1) - TYAA Blue going to turn the clock off, they're preparing to defend their Title. TYAA Blue already score almost half of their points they scored the whole last year just in 3 games, but they have given up in 1 game 3/4 of the points they gave up all last season. Bixby Blue may have the best Offense in the league. TYAA Blue
BIXBY RED (1-2) vs BROKEN ARROW BLACK (0-1-2) - Broken Arrow Black gets their win here. Also, they are 10 points from being undefeated. Great Defense, but need some work on that offense. This week they should have no problem working on that offense as they play a team that has given up 31 points per game. #36 and #60 on Defense keep the Red Spartans out of the endzone and BA Black gets their first win. Broken Arrow Black
VERDIGRIS (1-2) vs STILLWATER (0-3) - Verdigris has 1 kid that will win this ball game for them. Stilly boys look really young, 30-0 Verdigris. Verdigris
SAND SPRINGS BLACK (3-0) vs FORT GIBSON (3-0) - GOTW!! This is it, we get to see where both of these teams stand. We all know both are good, but how good? Sand Springs Black has playmakers all over the field, they are disciplined and have great basic football knowledge. #20, #22, and #24 are all studs along with several other boys who can play. Only thing they lack is size but they have a center that plays great on both sides of the ball as well. SS Black has only given up 6 points all year while still putting up 89 points, so they have both an offense and defense. Fort Gibson I keep hearing about their QB and how great he is, but I haven't heard too much about the rest of the team. Fort Gibson has given up 19 points and scored 86 points, but I believe they have played a better schedule than SS Black. I wish they would have played TYAA Red with Reds RB making weight and that would have a little more relevancy to the win, but it's not their fault. This game will give me a good idea of Fort Gibson as I have something to really compare them too. Looking forward to the out come of this game. I want to pick Fort Gibson in this game, but I feel like being a little Bias to SS Black since I have played them Sand Springs Black
CHOCTAW BLUE (2-1) vs YUKON WHITE (?-?) - Choctaw Blue
MUSKOGEE (3-0) vs TYAA WHITE (2-1) - Muskogee has another tough game this week. This is a chance for TYAA White to show who they are and get a win here. They have a great team as I'm hearing a lot of good things about them, matter of fact I think by season end they may be in top 4-7 of the rankings. Muskogee is playing some good ball and I'm anxious to see who is the first team to score on them. Could be this week, but it won't be easy and I'm going to have to ride the rougher wave out until it loses it's momentum. Muskogee
CLAREMORE BLACK (1-1-1) vs GLENPOOL WHITE (0-3) Claremore Black wins this one easily as Glenpool white has only found the endzone 1 time in 2 seasons and has given up over 400 points. Claremore Black
BERRYHILL BLUE (0-3) vs GLENPOOL BLUE (1-2) - Finally a break for Glenpool Blue, they managed to pull a win out of their tough first 3 games, but this week they play a team who hasn't seen the light of day shining down on the endzone. Glenpool Blue
CATOOSA GREEN (1-1-1) vs COWETA WHITE (0-3) - Catoosa Green, my boys going to have to toughen up if they want to start competing with the better teams. Catoosa Green
CHOCTAW GOLD (3-0) vs NORMAN TIMBERWOLVES (?-?) - Choctaw Gold, hasn't been scored on all year. Last week I feel they were showing mercy to the Choctaw White team. Choctaw Gold
WESTMOORE RED (?-?) vs CHOCTAW WHITE (1-1-1) - Choctaw White
CLAREMORE RED (2-1) vs SEQUOYAH (0-3) - Claremore red gets their season to 3-1. Claremore Red
BERRYHILL GOLD (2-1) vs COWETA BLACK (1-2) - This will be a good game, could go either way as they both have good RBs and boys that want to play football. Going to go with Coweta Black here to extend their record to 2-2. Coweta Black
WESTMOORE BLACK (?-?) vs EDMOND (?-?) - Edmond Westmooore.........Edmond Westmoore........Uhhhhh Edmond
TYAA RED (2-1) vs COLLINSVILLE BLUE (1-2) - TYAA Red, I think Red gets better as the season goes on. #12 running the ball all season will prepare him for the Playoffs and this team could be a very scary team by playoffs. Teaching a kid to run the ball isn't easy when they have never ran the ball, by the time Playoff comes he will be more comfortable and have a better understanding of what's needed of him. Collinsville Blue still finding their team and figuring things out. TYAA Red
UNION (3-0) vs SAND SPRINGS GOLD (2-1) - Sand Springs Gold is 2-1, but they have played some teams that are struggling and played them close as well. The only team they played that has it together is Sapulpa and they got beat 41-2. Union has played 3 teams that have a combined record of 0-9, still yet to be tested. They have some decent players for sure, but they need to feel the pressure of playing a tough team. Sand Springs Gold isn't Sand Springs Black and they will win this game, but I don't think by much. Their defense hasn't given a TD up all year and if their Safety and corners flow well like they have been then they should be able to win this game without giving up a TD as well. Union wins this game 13-0. Union
COLLINSVILLE RED (1-2) vs SKIATOOK (2-1) - Collinsville Red is better than their records shows as they have lost to a couple of good teams and one being BA White. Unfortunately, they they play a Skiatook team that is well coached, have great athletes, and not too happy about last weeks performance. I don't think this game is even close, matter of fact I think it's over by half time. SkiatookFor those of you who need a Copy and Paste template.OWASSO WHITE (1-2) vs BARTLESVILLE (2-1)
