Top 10 after Week 6
« on: October 07, 2019, 01:02:11 pm »
Hard to believe that the season is winding down. Here is my top 10 after week 6:

#1 BA White (6-0) my boys are having fun and getting better each week.

#2 Lincoln Christian (6-0) Knocked off a very good Bixby Blue team last week. I'll say it again, probably the most developed team in the grade. Can beat you in multiple ways with multiple kids.

#3 TYAA Blue (5-0-1) Taking a very good Muskogee White team to the shed last week tells me those boys are a threat to win it all.

#4 Skiatook (5-0-1) Lots of talent here. Will be a scary contender in the post season.

#5 Bixby Blue (5-1) They will bounce back from their first loss and finish strong. This is a team that few will want to see on their side of the bracket in the post season.

#6 TYAA Red (5-0-1) Looking forward to playing the red dogs next week.

#7 Muskogee Green (4-2) The best 2 loss team in the grade in my opinion. Another team that no one wants to see on their side of the bracket.

#8 Muskogee White (5-1) Another scary team that will be a threat in the post season.

#9 Choctaw Gold (6-0) Undefeated but I have no idea how good they are.

#10 Sand Springs (4-2) - From film it looks like these boys play hard nosed, physical football. Will make some noise in the post season.

As always EPO  Let's see yours

#1 TYAA Blue (5-0-1) - Played a tough Muskogee White team last week winning 18-7.

#2 Skiatook (5-0-1) - Could be the #1 Team. I'm starting to think this team has more than 2 good players and a coach. A team we may all see in the finals in Playoffs for sure.

#3 TYAA Red (5-0-1) - Took care of business as usual. Has BA White chomping on their heels. Will be a good show down in 2 weeks.

#4 Broken Arrow White (6-0) - I was going to put them at #3, but I didn't after I saw their schedule again. Not their fault, but in 2 weeks we will know for sure how they stack up to TYAA Red.

#5 Lincoln Christian (6-0) - Nice win last week and convincing win at that, by beating a Bixby Blue Team by 2 TDs

#6 Bixby Blue (5-1) - Had a set back against a good Lincoln Christian Team. I feel they're a good team and can beat anyone, but I also think they're  player shy from being a Great Team.

#7 Choctaw Gold (6-0) - No matter who they play, they're still undefeated and from what I hear they will be a top 3 Team to beat in Playoffs. I believe it too! Drinking the Koolaide

#8 Muskogee White (5-1) - Got beat by a TYAA Blue team, but they did score a TD and Extra point on them. Not an easy task to do. They gave up 18 though....have to get that Defense better for Playoffs.

#9 Muskogee Green (4-2) - Good Team no doubt, I like the Fire in the coach. I got to do the draft for this Muskogee Group. I'll tell you right now that all these coaches from Muskogee White and Green are a fun group. They laughed and had fun with the draft the whole time. I feel this Green Team has the players, but unfortunately I think they're dealing with inconsistency sometimes. From just looking at the scores and teams they have played, it seems like they play great defense against top teams, but then their offense isn't on like it usually is, then when they play teams with losing records their offense is on, but defense isn't; this could just be because they're getting more reps for certain players as well though, as I do the same thing. If they get their offense and defense firing at the same time I think they win 1 of their 2 tough games they played.

#10 Sand Springs (4-2) - They have played a tough schedule. The Glenpool game through me off a bit when they beat Glenpool 28-6. My team beat Glenpool the first game of the season 20-13 and I'll tell you that this Glenpool team is going to be very tough to beat when Playoffs get here. I know they're a tough team and when I saw the score of Sand Springs beating them like they did then I really thought it was a big win. Later I found out that the HC which calls the plays was gone and Glenpool played without a few of their players and rumor is they only had 7. It makes more since now, but I still think if they played Glenpool with Glenpools kids and coaches there then it would be a good game. This is a tough Sand Springs team and that's why I have them at #10.

#11 Glenpool Blue (3-3) - Playing good ball lately, lost to only Catoosa (1st Game), Sand Springs, and Bixby Blue (by 1)

#12 BA Gold (4-2) - Has only lost to 2 undefeated teams. TYAA Blue and Choctaw Gold.

#13 TYAA White (4-2) - They have two ranked opponents left on their schedule that can push them up before Playoffs

#14 TYAA Black (4-2) - Coach I know these boys been putting the work in and I know that by Playoffs they will be ready, but I have to go by your wins. The 4 teams you have beaten have won a total of 4 games. This is a good little team, but the fact of the matter is they're in the weakest division. It's a very good division for these boys to learn and grow in though.

#15 Catoosa Green (3-2-1) - Typically don't put these guys in here because they still have a long ways to go before they can be considered, but they have only lost to the top 2 Teams and tied the top 3 team. They're getting better every week and should be 100% healthy this week with all 10 kids back. Still a work in progress, but we will be ready by Playoffs.

Good Luck everyone and feel free to post your Top 15.

Here is my top 15 going into week 7.  Playoff will be here before we know it!!!

#1 TYAA Blue- Good win this past weekend against Muskogee White.  I still stand bye what I said best defense in the league.

#2 Skiatook- As I have said before blessed to get this group to coach.

#3 Lincoln Christian- Big win last week week against a good Bixby team. I have had them at the top since the beginning. I think they are well coached group with some great kids.

#4 Broken Arrow White- This group surprised me this last weekend shutting out Hilldale.  I look for them to be a tough group to beat come playoff time.  Schedule has been the only thing I have ever questioned, but that is out of there control.  TYAA Red game will give us the best look at where they are in the regular season.

#5 Bixby Blue- Good Team they had a tough loss against LC.  There Running back is a great player and makes it hard for anyone to beat.

#6 TYAA Red- This team still hasn't had a loss we will find out where they are in 2 weeks when they step on the field with BA White.

#7 Muskogee White- I will have to give this team a thumbs up for actually scoring on TYAA Blue.  I was wrong and will give credit where it is due.  This team is defiantly going to be a tough group to beat come playoff time.

#8 Catoosa Green- There schedule is why I have this group at #8.  They have a good group and this week they should have there entire team back.  They are well coached and will be tough come playoff time as well.

#9 Choctaw Gold- Well coached group that are disciplined, and they are undefeated.  The schedule is why I have them where they are at #9.

#10 Sand Springs- Good group of kids and they also haven't had an easy schedule.

#11 Glenpool Blue- Well coached group with some really good football players.  They are getting better and better as the season goes on.  They will get to test that come Saturday against LC.

#12 Muskogee Green- Solid group I think they are 1 to 2 players away from being in the discussion of one of the top teams.

#13 BA Gold- There schedule hasn't been easy at all.  This group of kids play hard and have a great running back.

#14 TYAA White- This group still have a couple of good games ahead of them to move up in the rankings. We will see how they fair in the next couple of weeks.

#15 TYAA Black- Young group of kids that seem to be getting better and better. They are going to be hard to handle next year thats for sure.

I’m proud of my wagoner boys, fairly young team but we are making it work.  Personally I believe we had the toughest first 4 games out of every division and we are 3-3  losing to TYAA Black, BA Go͏ld, TYAA Red, And BA white. Tough game next weekend  for us against Muskogee, but I think we will get the job done.

Warfeather, I may have missed it but I can't find it anywhere. What was the result of y'alls game against Coweta? I'm assuming it was a win but what was the score?

Our first 5 games were:

Glenpool Blue - TYAA Red - Skiatook - Catoosa Black - TYAA Blue

So I feel your pain, but my thoughts on it is we were able to be tested and at the same time find our weaknesses and correct them.

Strategy...

The rumor you heard of Glenpool only having 7 against Sand Springs is false. I was told they had a player gone, however.
Sand Springs played a better game that day. They were the better team that day.

Sand Springs also has 15 kids, which has turned out to be very difficult....

15 kids? Goodness you guys have your hands full like Sapulpa does. Good job on coaching those boys. I had 15 kids in mighty mite as well before and it wasn't an easy task, I feel your struggle.

Sapulpa is down to 9 or 10 kids now. They have a couple of athletic kids.
The participation rules really cripple SS with 15 kids. Sucks when the kids start to find their groove and we have to rotate all but 1 player.
