Scrimmages today
« on: August 12, 2017, 06:53:58 pm »
Ok I'm going to get this forum talking now.

What team stood out to you?  I watched the Skiatook Bulldogs Red and loved the intensity they brought, including fans, coaches and players.  Fun to watch them out there today.  I really liked seeing a Skiatook coach saying positive things to other players on other teams when they made great plays!  That's what its about!!!  Seen some good plays from Verdigris and I believe it was Berryhill Blue.

How about anyone else?  Lets have a fun 2017 season and already looking forward to next weeks scrimmages!!

Had a great time at the scrimmage this weekend. Saw some good things, saw some things that we need to work on. First grade is probably the most challenging grade to coach because you're working with players that have never played football. The biggest challenge is getting the boys lined up just to run your next play  ;D. As weeks go by the boys will get better so patience in this grade is a virtue. Good luck to all in the upcoming scrimmage and season

I think this is the least active grade as far as chatter on this forum I've seen  ;D.

At Claremore Sequoyah 8am a couple teams stood out-
Claremore is small upfront but they got some good backs and not too many could catch them.
Wagoner also had a couple good ones running- ran at you with size and speed then had a shifty little guy.....

.....and a shout out to our Cardinal team! Really impressed with them on both sides of the ball!

Looks to be a fun season and i hope peeps get to chatt'n on here!

Caught the end of claremore waiting on 3rd grade to start so I'll chime in, cause thats what i do. Just saw the Dirty Birds on offense but you guys looked pretty good. Lot of kids though but both your groups you were working looked pretty even. Thought claremore team was probably the cream of the crop though overall of those teams. but 1st grade changes week to week more than any grade so no telling by the time end of year gets here.
