That Bixby team looks the part. Noticed another one of those Roller boys is on that team. He did really well as expected.

Sand Springs had some size.

The Claremore team had some size and a couple of big hitters. Didn't get to see much of them on offense.

Pryor had some nice size as well.

BA Black was the most impressive team we went up against. We ran defense against them which was our first time lining up against anything other than wind this year so far. Nice mix of speed and size. They got 3 or 4 in on us I think.

One thing I definitely noticed was a bunch of 1st grade coaches are not on board with the fact that you can only run 4 formations on offense and 4 formations on defense  I would definitely recommend getting familiar with the rulebook before the season starts. If you have never coached in Mighty Mites before I would definitely get with somebody who has. Best of luck to everyone this season. Hilldale 4th grade HC & 1st grade AC.

Lol and get mad cuz you try to correct them!  It was kind of beneficial in a way. I would never be the guy to say your guy is further back than 3 & 3 but, you can't run a 5-3 , 4-4 (legit), 6-2 , or 4-2-5 (sarcasm of course). Once the season starts they will understand.

LOL!!! I thought that I was crazy seeing that stuff. Like, didn't they go to the meetings and haven't they read the rule book?!! 50 front lined in gaps, heavy shaded to one side or the other, Corners playing at the LOS....and yeah, they look at you like you don't know what you're talking about, until you pull out the book and show them the formations. And then they still didn't act like they cared. Quite amusing, but long as those young athletes were having fun, and I saw a lot of that. Did have one scare in the 6pm session where a player took a blind shot from an offensive player peel-back blocking. Block was legal as the contact was made with his hands out and he was at the right angle in front for it not to be a penalty. Player was just shaken up and was checked out by EMSA to be ok.

As the HC of Bixby Blue, thanks for the compliments. I'm just happy that we got out helmets buckled on and cleats on the right feet.

Pryor has a couple of DT's that were outstanding that looks like they could easily play up a grade and do well, and Muskogee always brings the speed from all over, on both sides the ball. It was great fun!

Good Luck to everyone this year!

Yes it was. I was standing right there when it happened. I ran over to check on the player and he originally was not responsive with arm and leg movements, couldn't even squeeze me finger. So I as the one to have the ambulance come out. By the time I got back over to the field, his parents and another lady had him upright and moving around. Better safe than sorry. Just glad he was ok
