I was under the understanding that if you didn't have a badge, then you couldn't be anywhere on the field unless you are doing the chains.  I was wondering this bc the opponent we faced  had some guy on the sideline that kept yelling at the ref about our kids, so I ask to see his badge.  He said it was in his back pocket, so when I asked the ref to have him put it around his neck, apparently he didn't have it and was sent to the stands. But then he supposedly showed someone his badge or hell maybe someone else's badge on a phone. We don't know and we are just wondering why he was allowed back to the field without his alleged badge?  If this is the case all of the kids dad's that want to be on the sideline by their kids can just pull up a picture of a certificate online and be on our sidelines too?  Rules are put in place for players safety correct?

Yes the officials can ask for a badge, especially if a coach is causing problems, but I would say most of that responsibility is going to go to the site directors as the 2 and 3 man crews of officials have plenty of other things to worry about such as the actual rules of the game being played.

Yea your right. There's no need for people to even get certified for these badges. I guess it's just for extra money bc like you said there's other important things like calling the game, then to be worried who or what kind of a person is on the sideline. Hell maybe we might see where one of the crazed parents tackles a player bc they get mad.   Ok thanks

Nsrider21 I think what he is saying is that the home team director is the one in charge to check the badges. I know at Lincoln our director checks the badges and removes the people that are not supposed to be on the field. Every field has a director you just need to find them to remove the person. The director should be at the weigh-ins. Hope that helps

Again, we will help police for you the other coaches certifications but if you have an issue, please find a site director as well they should be able to help as well.

Per the rules. It's up to the club to have someone checking people's badge before the enter the field. At glenpool we have a person at the gate that checks

Yes glenpool did a great job of that.  Way b4 the game even started they made whoever didn't have a badge get off the field.   But what I guess I'm trying to say is can y'all make sure to remind whoever it is you need too,.   NO BADGE, NO COACHING ON THE FIELD

Is there a certain location where you are having problems?
The penalty for a dad being on the sideline without a badge is for the dad to get put in the stands.  If he is yelling at the officials and/or causing any problems the unsportsmanlike foul would go against the head coach as he is responsible for everyone on his sideline.

Site managers are at every site, that I can assure you.  If you are actually looking for one, I am fairly certain you can find one if not more than one.
Again, if you are seeing a problem at a particular site please let me know.

You made my point with the Glenpool example - I am guessing that was the site manager at Glenpool that made sure no one was on the sideline without a badge, not the officials?
If a "coach" is causing problems, the first thing an official should and will normally do is look to see if he has his badge around his neck.  If he doesn't have one, he will be removed from the sideline.

The Muskogee director was at our weigh in this weekend checking weight. At Lincoln he has been there the last 7 years I have coached sitting by the weight station blocking the only gate onto the field. I have never had an issue finding a director.

Per the rule book:

The number of non-player personnel on each football team’s,
sideline shall not exceed a total of eight (8). This eight (8) include all
coaches, manager, play counters, or water aids. Any coaching of players
must be by a USA Football certified coach. The Head coach will be held
accountable for their sideline personnel and any violation of this rule.

So the parents that want to be on the sideline and not in the stands i can just say that they are water helpers??

so whats the use of getting "certified" ??

Seriously though, i guess i was at a misunderstanding, i thought To be on the field you had to be certified.

Again, you need certifications to be on the sideline.  Officials are not the hall monitors, this is fairly easy to understand if you want to.  No where did I say it was OK to be on the sideline without your coaching credentials.  You didn't answer the question above:  At Glenpool was it the SITE DIRECTOR or Officials that made sure only coaches with certifications were on the field?  Seems you are directing your ire in the wrong direction.  If you have never had your coaching certifications checked then congrats your coaches are probably not acting crazy.  Either way, good luck to your team this weekend.

Glenpool was great about checking peoples passes.   It was more of a general question i guess.  Just wondering if it was a rule or not that you had to have your badge to be on the sideline?

At glenpool we have a person designed to check badges. It's a board member definitely not a official.
