PAT

Just curious I've had refs let me do this and some not.  Do you have to kick your PAT with the same ball you score with?

By rule the answer is yes on this, you are supposed to use the same ball.  Veterans are more likely to catch this one so you are welcome to keep trying it.  The only time you can switch out a ball is supposed to be on change of possession (which includes an onside kick recovered by the kicking team) or if the ball is wet.

Teams used to send in a "balloon" ball to kick field goals so that is likely why the rule is in place.
