Pass Interference in MM
« on: October 22, 2017, 08:28:08 am »
If this is a rule we are not going to call this needs to be deemed a run only league. We can not teach these kids it's ok to be draped all over a receiver then in the championship game tell them it's not ok. Explain to me why we are not calling pass interference in the season? And why are we not calling holds away from the play? Are we teaching these kids it's ok to commit fouls away from the play? Curious to why this is happening.

Don't believe anyone said not to call pass interference. If you have film you want me to review, please send it to me at bkelleyok@gmail.com

As for the holds away from the play, your high school coach would not want those called but if you want every hold called in mighty mite game, just let me know where you play next week and we will see what we can do for you.  Just know that your mighty mite teams holds as well.
We are not saying we are never going to call a hold away from the play but we are focusing on the holds at the point of attack, especially with only two officials.

To Coweta Black's defense, I was also told at the beginning of the season that pass interference was never going to be called in a regular season game (had submitted footage of the incident) and may only be called in a championship game if it would possibly change the outcome of the play and game. If it had been called, we would have had one (1) official un-timed down at the end of the game, which could have very well put the game into OT if we scored on it. With a lot of passing by several teams in MM, which is only increasing each year, it's only fair to call the penalties to help teach the players on what to do and how to properly defend a receiver

We had a pass interference called today but probably only because the receiver was tackled.  Only penalty called all day on Berryhill.  It was offset by a holding penalty though so no worries home team.
